I never claimed it as fact, only that the description has changed. Others have said it as fact so I was relaying information.

I had purchased an aqua and canceled the order until more facts are known about it. If you've tested these parts with swabs and confirmed that it is indeed lead-free, that's great

No, you claimed that the description stated that the posts and screws were brass. It 100% does not. It says that the 510 connection is brass. This is an external part and poses absolutely not threat, even if it was made of arsenic.

I'm so sick and tired of the criticism and hysteria over materials in Chinese vaping gear. If you're that paranoid over the exact materials being used in your vaping gear then shopping at fasttech is a bad idea. I suggest you find an alternative (and much more expensive) outlet to purchase your mods and attys.

As an old lady, all of this leaves me shaking my little grey head.

For heaven's sake, we were all SMOKERS once upon a not so long ago time. I spent a good 40 years absorbing about 3000 interesting elements from the smoke going into my lungs.

A bit of brass under a layer of silver is definitely not one of my major concerns. :)

Sounds like you have pent up aggression over something. As stated previously, I was merely relaying information. I never stated any of it as fact, only that the description of the product in question has changed since people placed an order.

I think you need to chill out a bit. You've stated yours doesn't have any brass parts that come into contact with any e juice and that's good. I was merely throwing it out there and wanted confirmation from others that might have received their product already.

Also keep in mind that there are two versions from most likely 2 different manufacturers. Just as I can't state anything as fact as I don't either you also cannot speak for the other version as you also do not own that atomizer.

Pent up aggression? No. Extreme dislike of those that spread falsehood in the hope of scaring people? Absolutely.

You stated this:
Apparently all these Aqua clones have brass in the atomizer chambers. This sucks

/cancel :-(

I replied that no, they ALL most definitely do not. Additionally, the way you phrased it was a statement of fact. A false statement. I don't know whether it's ignorance or intention to deceive on your part, but it's a lie.

You can keep back-peddling and trying to spin your statements all you want, but in the end you need to stop spreading rumors.

That I can actually understand because it's not just affecting you. If I want to vape out of an atty that contained some brass then that's fine, but if there was evidence that second hand vapor from attys that contained brass was harmful to others then it would be a problem.

It's the difference between making choices for yourself and protecting everyone else from the consequences of your actions.

(And just to clarify, there's no evidence that second-hand vapor does anything to anyone, so don't grab on to that and run with it.)

Wasn't goign to run with anything. Just stating everything in this world is toxic to us. If fireplaces and stoves burning wood can be regulated then why not brass.. or lead.

There is no evidence is doesn't either.

My point is the absurdity of it all.

I disagree, I wouldn't use one of those Kayfun clones with the brass bits, my health is too important, I will stick with my Kanger Protanks thank you very much ;-)

Sigh... Yeah, I get where you're coming from. Personally I long for simpler days, but I doubt they ever really existed. The 50s look great from my perspective as a child of the 80s, but I'm sure people in the 50's were yearning for a different time too.

Plus ca change plus c'est la meme chose.

(and the 'Run With it' wasn't directed at you, just at the forum in general. I could just see some random person go beserk because they saw that someone inferred that second-hand vapor from an atty with brass parts was harmful to bystanders. Maybe I'm getting paranoid too. LoL.)

Everything you do whether harmful or not affects someone in someway. We have learned over the last decade that it is not acceptable. Everyone has the right to be free from everything and the right to do whatever they want regardless of someone else's right.

I get ya though. Everyone wants to bash the Chinese and their products. I wonder how many Chinese vape off this stuff and probably saying look at those stupid americans vaping of stainless steel.

The campers are not happy. Bickering is never in short supply. OK already. Jesus H. Kerist somebody show a round of applause for "doctadrea" who is hopefully receiving BATTERIES from the folks in China! BATTERIES! Now THAT'S worth getting excited about! A little chunk of BRASS and what it MIGHT DO to we poor people who for years and decades DELIBERATELY SMOKED TOBACCO is beyond humorous.

That chunk of brass is external as already pointed out. The crap in our foods is just as dangerous or has just as much chance of harming us and we willingly take the word of growers governed by the "FDA" that it is "100% safe or 100% organic"; one of the biggest liars to come along since Sally told me "you're my FIRST' is the "FDA"!

The Chinaman didn't sit there and deliberately think, "How can I word this to FOOL the dumb American?" Buy it or don't - but worry about something that matters...... such as, "CAN I GET A BATTERY THROUGH FROM CHINA LIKE doctadrea did....????:):):):)

Senile Old Man Don ............ "Drinking from a PLASTIC GLASS ....... Made in Indonesia!

I worked in a non ferrous foundry in my younger days,my exposure to brass fumes would be 1000's of times that of the general public and I'm still standing(pretty healthy according to the doc) I would be more wary of aluminium than brass.

Brass was always my favorite to cast,as the zinc burns off it floats into the air and it looks like it's snowing.

Not saying Brass is safe just saying exposure to the tiny amounts a vaper comes into contact with aint much to worry about in comparison to the rest of the toxins(car fumes) we get exposed to every day.

I thought Kanger Protanks were chromed brass. I haven't confirmed this personally, the coating is thick and durable enough that I don't care.

As for the Fasttech Kayfun and Taifun, I had to scratch the decks to make sure I received the newer version I had been waiting for, it could have been chrome plated and if I never noticed I wouldn't care. Like with the authentic Protank, if the plating is good enough it doesn't matter to me. It's these screws that rust so fast that's really annoying, such a cheap part to save the maker a few pennies on. Good replacement screws for dripper posts are readily available, but these tiny RTA post screws are very hard to find in stock anywhere.

Brass decks are one thing, rusty screws are another. Brass being potentially dangerous or just unhealthy is one thing, the flavor it imparts is another. Some folks can't stand canned soda, others get a bad taste from the plastic bottles, I've never heard anyone complain about glass though. If I had a completely lead free Naval brass drinking cup I wouldn't use it, I already have a Sterling silver goblet that makes everything taste off.

For those that feel the need to tell everyone which devices have brass parts, thanks for the info. It is important to be 100% sure though, don't just judge it by a chromed appearance. Folks like me might not care much about the possible lead content, but I just can't stand the metals oxidizing and ruining my e-liquid.

Don't mind me, I'm just a cheap screwball angry about cheap screws. :p

Friendly reminder of the day ...

ECF is not a forum designed for arguing or throwing punches. If you want to do so, please do it in Private and leave this FastTech post available for those who want to learn and share without having to read ridiculous arguments over a bunch of he said/she said. That's the kind of garbage that turns people away from forums quickly. We want more people signing up here to share knowledge and experience, not less.

Thanks.

Radio Control shops can be a good source for tiny screws.

no such place in htis neck of the woods which leaves internet ordering. Problem is not knowing what the heck to order. LOL

I am one of those ladys that had the old man that gaurded the door at Lowe's trained (when I lived near a Lowe's). I would walk in and he would say "Good to see you again" and hold out his hand. I would hand him whatever I was looking for and he would find it for me.

Trying to order a thinga ma bobby over the internet doesn't work too good. ;)
