I've just purchased 2 Vamo 2's and 4 Panasonic flat top 18650 3400 mah batteries. I don't mind the wait as these are additions to my stash. I just hope the stuff isn't junk when I get it.

I looked at some Protank coil heads but read the reviews and seems you might get a good one out of 3 in a box of 10, even if they say 'authentic'. What's been some of your experiences with fasttech?

.....several pages since I posted this and asked for feedback :). Although reading about the problems of brass is interesting, I'd really appreciate a considerate response to my question. Thanks!

I purchased 10 of the MST3K or somesuch heads from them. I've used about half, not a single dud. Hope that's helpful.

I have 4 vamo's from FT 2 ss and 2 aluminum. All work great. The problem will be with the batteries. I use the 3400mah panasonics but china is not shipping them. How was your order shipped? If Malaysia post it might make it otherwise I doubt it. Ft is reliable and will refund but you have to wait wait wait. I have been ordering from there for the last year you have to read the forum and stickees to keep up with who is doing what. I have saved a fortune and could not be happier. If you treat customer svc decent you will be better off. I am embarrassed at a lot of the forum complaints after 10 days.

I bought a ton of the EVOD head clones and after trying 15 of them and not getting a good one I just gave up and started recoiling all of them before use. Once rebuilt they are terrific but I would look at buying them as buying spare parts to build heads rather than something decent out of the box.

As for the VAMOs like I said earlier all VAMOs are basically clones. THe designer never built them on his own he just released the design into the wild for anyone to use. The one thing that seems to be universal (VAMO from fasttech or bought from a shop in the US) is that the threads on the vamo's 510 connection are delicate. My Vamo V2 is still going strong at 8 months old but I took a step when I first got it to protect those delicate threads. I attached a 510/ego adapter to it that never is removed. That way I am screwing devices into the threading of the adapter and not the VAMO. Protects the threads a bit.

As for loose batteries like that. I have no idea what the current shipping status is. FOr the last several months getting them shipped from hong kong has been a nightmare for many people.

Thanks folks for the helpful comments! I already have 2 Vamos so I'm very familiar with the threading issue. I also use 510 adaptors. The batteries have been shipped via Malaysia post. What is the issue with batteries coming from China?

About the coil heads and reading the reviews, I pretty much decided that buying stateside is probably the way to go :). I don't need to get a box of 10 and only 2 work lol.

I'm glad to know that FT is reliable as long as you know at the get go that it will take time to receive your order. P.S. I don't care who makes Vamo as long as they work. I've had my 2 about 8 months now and they are my pacifiers from the minute I get home from work until I go to bed around midnight. Knock on wood, I've had no problems with them.

Again, thanks for the help!

It seems that most of the Asian shipping companies are bouncing batteries back to FT. It doesn't happen all the time, but enough that it's not reliable to order batteries from FastTech right now unless you use some kind of express shipping.

My VAMO was my go to device for a very long time. Then I discovered dripping in RDAs. SO now its Mechs + RDA in specific my 2 REO Grands + RM2s that are my go to devices. My VAMO has become my couch vape not my attached to my hand vape these days. Not a knock on the VAMO it is my tastes that changed.

I usually order these:
https://www.fasttech.com/product/1387600
https://www.fasttech.com/products/1411/10004696/1386200

Must work fine right out of the packaging. A few have needed a little fiddling. All have worked.

As for Brass - More Panic and assumption than actual tested Fact.

Unless you Drink Heavily lead polluted water or eat lead based paint, there is little threat of lead poisoning. People just like to assume rather than research. Silica is also very dangerous........... If your job is Grinding fiberglass 8-12 hours a day in a confined area.

A lot of us have and use Brass drip tips and many manufacturers make some beautiful Brass accent Tips.

People like to talk about Navel Brass, which has nothing to do with health and everything to do with Durability in Salt Water.

Does any one have experience with orders that are restocking? Does that mean a long wait or simply a little longer. I've got a huge order waiting on some nemesis batteries. a kraken clone and an nimbus. Should I cancel those three items and order later or just wait for the restocking. There's two Nemis and a vamo in there so I'm anxious to get them.

Usually, restocking items get filled in a few days, but I had one that took 2 weeks.

Speaking of Silica, has anyone noted all the Silica wick material they added in the last few days? https://www.fasttech.com/products/1595701, check the drop down for other sizes.

And the ready-made wires - https://www.fasttech.com/p/1521200, non-resistance legs sound like just the ticket to avoid scorching the rubber insulators.

scorching the rubber insulator was my biggest issue when i started rebuliding vivi novas back in the days. those would come in handy not only for ithaca type atomizers but also for the large variety of clearos that can be rebuild.

Helpful tip:
Brass brush - clean inside the hole the grommet fits in before installing the new coil. Poor initial contact causes the excessive heat that singes the insulator. Also do several Very short burst after initial install to arch contact area without overheating the wire.:)
