LOL!

My warranty replacement clearo which was shipped a little over three weeks ago via Swiss Post just updated that it's left Switzerland. So, Hong Kong to Switzerland so far. What's next? South Africa and then The North Pole so Santa can deliver it?

I can't do anything but laugh. Thinking about all of the things that have to happen in concert for international shipping to work correctly just makes me dizzy.

you have to watch their shipping. i placed an order for an item that had a guesstimated ship date of 7 days. my bro ordered the exact same item the next day from them. they shipped his next day and he got it already, mine still hasnt shipped. their excuse was "we get hundreds of this item in every few days, yours will ship in a few days from now"...... man, i ordered mine BEFORE my bro did and he got his already.

ive also spoken to 3 merchant buyers thatbuy from them that are cancelling their accounts as a couple have been waiting on orders now for over 2 months while others who placed their orders after have gotten their items, place other orders for the SAME THING and also received those. they need to get their heads on straight

Agreed, and I understand the desire to get your stuff. What I don't understand is why the long ship times are such a mystery. The issues with long shipping times has been beat to death and still every day there are 25 or more posts "why is it taking so long to get my stuff?" This is a company that ships thousands of items every day and they had to make a major change, on the fly, while still shipping thousands of items every day, during the holiday rush. Your stuff will get here, you just have to be patient or get it stateside and pay more for it. I know their site says shipping times are better than they are but this thread has shown their times to be blatantly false at times. As far as the, ships in ____days anyone should know that is an estimate of when they could ship if the product arrives. That is something they have no control over. Personally, I think they need to just mark items as out of stock and not allow orders for it. I am betting it would reduce the number of tickets submitted that ask "why has my order not shipped?". The biggest issue we Americans have is we are really a narcissistic bunch and we want it all NOW. The Chinese have a completely different mindset and no amount of complaining is going to change that. They are not going to speed it up because Jo Blow wants his Russian 91% knock off. We (AMericans) are so used to the concept of the customer is always right (they aren't) and having companies bend over backwards that it is a shock when a company doesn't. If I owned a large mail order company like FT. I don't think I would try to do it any other way. They seem to be doing it right IMO. Would I LIKE for shipping to be faster and better organized? Of course I would and I think they will get it better. If they don't get slower I will continue to use them when I want something and don't have to have it right away. I will say though I am very anxiously awaiting my Nemesis Cone and two other orders. I HOPE they arrive before Xmas, but if they don't then I will get them when I get them.

On a side note the only reason I specified Americans twice is that I have never lived anywhere else and I would not presume that other societies are like ours. They may be and they may not. I have no idea really.

I personally think the main reason that this thread has been overtaken recently with shipping stuff, is for several reasons.

1. They just made some major changes to their shipping to the US.
2. Because of number 1(and problems with shipping preceding that) many people have not gotten anything from them in awhile to discuss their latest package of stuff.
3. There really hasnt been much to talk about on new items they released since maybe the vela clone was released(and no one has received that yet, that is for sure). ie, most of their new arrivals recently have been...meh. At least imo, although I am not really into the whole RBA scene...so maybe my view on this is slanted.

That is not to say there isnt other things to talk about. But this is the most widely used 'FT' thread on this forum, because it is in the general forum and it is titled 'The fasttech Thread For All FastTech Posts', so....

Those are good to go then..if they still have that much charge left on them

Charging Lithium-Ion Batteries

I've read that you should let them sit for some days/a week (or more) and check the voltages from time to time. If they self-discharge fast they shouldn't be used. Just today I opened a non-charging battery pack to see if could salvage some cells. One showed 0v on the multimeter (guess that's why the pack didn't work), the rest had charges around 3.9v. All charged to over 4v (most 4.15 and over, one only to 4.04). A couple of them do seem to self-discharge more than usual so I'll discard them.

Of topic, sorry...

That would be a great solution, and there are already whole threads dedicated to shipping down in the FT social group section.

But I'm afraid we're crying in the wilderness...the funny thing is, once people get their packages, they don't always come back and tell everyone about their experiences with what was in them :)

I don't think I've put down the VTR for more than 10 minutes all day :vapor: May the coming week bring lots of satisfying packages to everyone.

Yeah, I barely bother to post in this thread anymore. There was a time when we were getting some good product feedback, but now it's impossible to find product reviews amongst all the complaining about shipping... Oh, well. It was a good thread.

Is anyone else having trouble getting batteries delivered?? I ordered an iTaste VV3 and an extra charger for my Egos, shipped out over 2 weeks ago and tracking status has not changed. The last time I placed this exact order (sometime in October), it was sent out and nothing changed in like a month and then it was sent back to FT and they refunded me the money. Ugh... hope its not happening again. So annoying to have to wait a month to find out that you won't be getting something you've been patiently waiting for.

I've got 3 Itaste VV 3.0s and a meter ordered. I figured it would come by cargo ship because of the batteries so it is a whenever, if ever order for me. I just checked tracking and can't figure out if Hong Kong Post is bogarting the order or if it's actually on the boat. It's been years since I got anything that came over by boat from China but those things took a month to over three months to arrive, depending on the mood of customs.
From 17track.

Yepper, miss da ol' 'heads up' and reviews. This thread has become nothing but a preschool whining fest.

So, if I split a $100 order into 4x $25 orders, with the items costing the same and free shipping, where does the extra shipping cost of three of those parcels go? It's not by weight because there's a minimum for each parcel. The price of each item is the same. Therefore it cost FT more to ship four parcels rather than one.

What you want to think of as 'free shipping' is in fact factored into the selling price of the item - a set number of cents per dollar on any given item. Thus the $15 minimum order for trackable parcels ( 15 x X cents = minimum necessary).

So, whether you split your $100 order into 4 shipments or not, the amount set aside for shipping in the cost is the same (100 x X = 4 x 25 x X). Sometimes it will all be used up by actual shipping costs and sometimes it won't be. Think of it as a 'shipping budget' rather than an actual individual parcel cost. FT uses bulk airmail services, and your 'shipping budget' goes to the total cost of the cubic meter of cargo space. This type of shipping also means that your parcel does not have priority status.

Thus they are not "losing" money when you make 4 $25 orders.

I imagine 4 boxes takes up more space then one box even if the 4 boxes are smaller. Plus there is the cost of boxes, labels and time to pack. Anyway you look at it it does cost more. I bet you if you asked the head of FT shipping if they would rather ship it in one shipment rather then four I could guess his answer.

None of this is really important to us because it is free to us.

EDIT: They are not losing money on the sale but they are losing profits on the bottom end.
