Buy lots of cheap RDA's. It's a pretty basic device. Many good ones to be had cheap. Try VaporRange--he still has some asMODus Galatek's (for professional vapers only) for $9.Now y'all got me worried. What if my vaping style changes in the next few years, should I stock up on all different types of RDAs, so I can accommodate? I still haven't even tried all the ones in my prefers style that I want to. Will an RDA last a lifetime? Or will the insulation go out eventually. O rings are easy enough to replace, but high temp, custom shaped, plastic? Argh... Why did I take so long to start vaping...
Wow. Not even Velveeta cheese lasts five years!
Yeah, I've been picking up a clone here or there, kinda wish there was an atty of the month club, or better yet, a 36 of the best attys sampler.Buy lots of cheap RDA's. It's a pretty basic device. Look around, buy a few in different styles. That's what I'm doing.
Stop. Don’t work yourself in a frenzy. There is time. The worst thing you could do is take the advice from everyone on this forum. Your head will explode. Find a person or two or three that you feel can help you with gear and methodically work thru it. You’ll find gear you like and it will last you a long while. Work with them thru private message. Now y'all got me worried. What if my vaping style changes in the next few years, should I stock up on all different types of RDAs, so I can accommodate? Thank you. IYO, is there a noticeable difference in flavor impact from one vendor to another? Or are today’s PGs and VGs pretty flavorless?
I realize these products will likely avoid restrictions but I need to experiment with recipes and is why I ask about them now. However, it doesn’t hurt to remind people.
TBH, I've only ever used Essential Depot and early on, some smaller bottles that I ordered from nic vendors at the same time as nic.Thank you. IYO, is there a noticeable difference in flavor impact from one vendor to another? Or are today’s PGs and VGs pretty flavorless?
Quoted shelf life is generally on the order of two years.Oh, and does PG n VG have a shelf life?
I believe the most likely thing to hurt an RDA (specifically the insulator) is excessive heat when dry-burning a coil. I keep my dry burns short and suck heat out of coil and atty with a damp paper towel as soon as I release fire button. Will an RDA last a lifetime? Or will the insulation go out eventually. I use a lot when I'm stressed but then I need much less nic concentration. I build 10 mg or 12 mg for low power devices. Don't use it all the time but when I'm desperate for a smoke. The WTA makers are too small to have any prayer of filing a PMTA. If I were you, I'd stock up on the stuff.
I found WTA very helpful early on, and still enjoy a bit of it here and there, but I doubt I'll ever go through the couple of hundred ml of 24 and 36 mg that I have squirreled away, and a lack of it wouldn't have me reverting to smoking at this point anyway.

Also strongly consider buying spare parts for them (insulators and the like).
I'd imagine that dry burning at insane temps, and gorilla arming the atty down to the mod and over torquing the grub screws are big no-nos, and I'd imagine some wear on the insulation happens no matter how gentle. Are insulators purchasable seperatly? Or, unless we're talking about a high end atty would it just make sense to buy a backup or 3?I believe the most likely thing to hurt an RDA (specifically the insulator) is excessive heat when dry-burning a coil. I also think quality matters. Grub screws are easy enough to replace, but the posts (or other atty parts) that they screw into, not so much. So buy quality and don't be a gorilla when tightening the screws.
I've got RDAs that have been in service for 3-4 years now. No problems.
There you go HigherState. PM ShowMeTwice for his gear prowess. I know him and he’ll steer you right. And he’s a nice guy and. I know he would be happy to help you. PM me too if you want. There are your two people you can work with on the side to get you to a happy place. And if you think I’m a chump then find someone who isn’t a chump. Narrow it down.
