There is a Chinese user on another popular vape forum that claims the Chinese govt hasn't banned a thing within china. vape is everywhere and the vape company Relx is supposedly a huge hit there such that they almost have a monopoly. Claims the Chinese govt is just letting it slide and monitoring the situation.

Alibaba acted upon directives from the Chinese govt, not on it's own. Marketplaces exist to make money, not to find ways to prohibit sales lol

Amazon and Ebay and Paypal would allow vapes sales if they weren't pressured by banks and the US govt not to. Money is the goal.
The ban in China was against Chinese websites selling online to Chinese citizens (they did not ban vaping, vaping is popular there). And last I knew, it was not an actual law yet, it was a "strong request" from the government... which in China pretty much means it's the law. lol But China did not ban vape sales to the USA.

Yeah, I don't know of anything that was actually debunked. I'd like to see that info as well. But then, I don't know exactly what the ban was, and if it was formally enacted. But here's an article on the company you'd referenced. They have big plans, and it looks like they're positioning themselves strongly into B&M.
Chinese e-cigarette firm Relx to open 10,000 stores within three years
The parts relevant to this discussion:

Relx’s expansion comes as many Chinese e-cigarette brands look to sales from actual stores to drive growth following a move by Chinese regulators last year to call for a ban on online sales and advertising of e-cigarettes. (I still don't know the specifics of what they did in this "move"- as I posted earlier, I'd heard they banned online domestic sales, which they likely aren't even enforcing)

Relx said that 20% of its sales currently come from overseas.

Regulatory scrutiny in both the United States and China has placed pressure on China’s e-cigarette supply chain in the southern city of Shenzhen, where approximately 90% of the world’s e-cigarettes are manufactured.

According to China’s top e-cigarette trade association, the labor force across the industry’s supply chain in the country shrank approximately 10% last autumn due to regulations dampening demand.

:pop:

This thread can be as chippy as those old clone war threads.
Those were apparently just before my time here. Didn't really see them, but saw plenty of references.

A red X is known around here to raise dander. Some throw them around like they're manhole covers, others, like they're pennies.

I am a little late to stocking up but have managed to buy 7 mods at really good prices. Plan on buying 1 more mid range priced mod and more cheap ones if they are priced right just before D day. Also plan on making my own coils. I started vaping back in early 2010 and that year started DIY which I did until a few years ago when I got lazy and bought 0 nic 120ml juice from Tastyvapor for under $20 each and still added my own nic to save money. They will be having a liquidation sale closer to D day for those that are interested.

All this BS about saving children is nothing more than a smoke screen to brainwash the masses to real motives - MONEY. Laws have existed for years on age to buy tobacco products. Why aren't the existing laws enforced more strictly? No they have to make even more laws. IF the stupid government wanted to really stop youth from smoking/vaping they would mandate all tobacco products and booze be sold in state run liquor/tob stores. No gas station or corner store sales to anyone. I know at age 14 I had no problems buying ciggs at a gas station.

Its clear the Fraud Deception Authority doesn't really care about anyone's health or many of the drugs on the market today would be removed due to harmful effects. It would not surprise me if big tobacco is not behind a lot of this with all their money. Let the FDA clear out all competition so they can control the market with junk smokeless products.

Is a PTFE foam liner safe for nic storage?

PTFE is extremely chemically compatible as plastics go. OTOH, the foaming process is accomplished using foaming agents which releases gases to make bubbles in the plastic while it cools. The bubbles will make the plastic easier for liquids to penetrate and the chemicals in the foaming agent can only make the resulting foam less safe for vaping out of.

So ya, not a good idea :(

If someone is looking for a cheap stock up item, 3avape is pushing these KBox 70W mods out the door for $6.99. Cheaper than a box of coils, and even if it only lasts as long as a box of coils, you still got your money's worth.

I'm curious about the boston caps. What is the purpose of a cone cap? Is that to ensure there is enough space in the bottle for expansion in the event of freezing liquids that expand?

Have you ever Opened a Bottle of something. And the Disk Seal in the cap Sticks to the bottle and Not to the cap. So you Pry the seal off the Bottle and try to Stick it back into the Cap. But it Never goes in right. And just keeps Falling out every time you open the Bottle.

That Doesn't Happen with Poly-Cone Caps.

I guess I need to look at it closer to figure out how it works.

Commonly used in laboratories. Supposed to have strength/durability with heat-resistant and insulating properties. Excellent resistance to chemical corrosion and low moisture absorption.

Also called a phenolic cap.

It's just a phenolic cap, feels like rubber. As opposed to the almost paper thin foam, which likely wouldn't be as good long term. I got mine here, because I prefer the clear bottles, which are fairly hard to find, and they had the cone caps instead of foam. And according to Rossum's nic storage thread, it won't expand. I think freezing point of vg, for instance, is like 60 degrees below zero. And unlike water, it doesn't even expand then.

Just my opinon...because they are so cheap and many times come with the bottle, probably best to stick with what people have been using for at least a decade to store their nic base. The paper gasket types are definitely not the way to go to save a few pennies per cap. Simply can't provide what a poly cap can.

Some also seal the poly cap to the bottle with heatshrink or strong electrical tape as an added measure.

I don't need bottles. I already have the phenolic cones and don't worry about expansion. I was just curious about the cone and what advantages that geometry imparts.
