US - Keep Vape Mail Legal! (Reject S.1253)
So most adults who are at work and unable to sign (but their kids are home from school) can just have their kids sign it for them. smh

EDIT: That was a joke to illustrate that anyone can sign for it, so this bill is senseless and only serves to create yet another obstacle to staying off of cigarettes. Sent one in in my wife's name as well.

Not really. The person signing for the package will have to produce an ID verifying age. That's what the Pact Act did for tobacco and snus. And it will probably ruin our poor USPS while making the private carriers even richer.

Seriously, those who live in rural/remote areas without any vape shops around will be hit the hardest. This bill has to be stopped, so please, share, tweet, FB, Instagram.

It's already in effect for e-liquids for my state. Increases the cost of shipping, and is a PITA to go and sign. :( And yes, you need to show ID.

True.. he has no power. I just wonder about his mindset and if that is where the FDA's head is at.
In my experience, the last thing someone holding almost any job wants to do is follow the lead of the person who held it before him/her.

You know the problem with that is that the VTA has suggested this as a positive step to prevent teen vaping..

It's one of the reasons I have mixed feelings about the VTA in general. When you read some of their legislative proposals, I find some of them ridiculous.

I live rurally, and while there is a vape shop in town, they rarely have anything by way of MTL tanks or rebuildable supplies. They sell Smok, and DL tanks.. When I went in asking for 18mg ejuice for my husband they had literally never heard of Provari or Kayfun and didn't want to sell me 18mg juice.... I had to explain what low wattage mtl devices even were as all they knew was cloud chucking..

ridiculous. I wouldn't be vaping today if I had to rely on them, and I find myself often at odds with proposals by VTA..

I know. Rural folks will be hit the hardest. And, as always, those on limited incomes, the disabled, new vapers, older folks in assisted-living situations.

i think signing for mail is more common here than there

can be a bugger if delivery driver is from a PO other than the local. Lots of my stuff used to go to one about 5 miles away, I lease a PO box now, which keeps pick-up at the post office pretty much across the road

That's my situation too. There are vape shops around, but I have only been to one. They only cater to cloud chuckers, didn't know half of what I know from experience, and what they sold was so overpriced I would never recommend them! I know what I like, I keep it simple, make my own eliquid, and know how to rebuild tanks I have. I have enough mods to last forever and have evolved with my experience, but still enjoy some older hardware I have.

USPS now has a process where-by you can put your electronic signature on file with them. Then if a 'sign for package' is coming you can electronically sign for it and leave instructions where to leave the package when delivered. I just saw this today on my USPS tracking page.

I doubt that would fly for an "adult signature required" kind of package.

The last package I got that was adult signature required was yesterday from USPS. My wife picked it up for me and had to show ID and they took her license number. Every other time she's picked up signature required packages she just signed for them and didn't have to show ID.

To honest, I thought everyone knew this, especially since they provide a link to sign-up for this "service" some time ago . . . I actually electronically signed on their site for over a year and depending what is in the package - I will have them drop it off at either at "My" front door, my neighbors next door or neighbor down stairs (good thing I live in a apartment complex with other old people - someone is always around    ). . . AND - Just in case, people don't know - Ya' can even track where the delivery truck is and how close they are to your place that day now (UPS supplies a link to the webpage which self updates as soon as the truck stops at any destination on the way too) . . . Matter of fact, the other day, I meet the delivery man at the door as he approached "My" apartment and asked what took him so long . . . Of course, he gave me a strange look and that's when I told him that I could see him driving all over the area and where he was delivering "stuff" all day and finally into the complex via the UPS Website . . . I could tell he knew nothing about this given his expression. . . As he turned to leave, all I could do was laugh to myself . . . BTW: IMHO - I think this is a great advantage for all of "Us" no matter where we live, especially so "We" don't have to wait around until they arrive with our "Stuff" . . . Just Sayin' . . .

I doubt that would fly for an "adult signature required" kind of package.

Not sure, however it did for the package I was sent that required an "Adult" signature . . . Just Sayin' . . .

Doesn't work with adult signature. You have to sign in person and provide ID. Tried with my package and it was a no-go. :(

Edited to add: It works for medication I order from overseas (for my cat). I don't think that's "adult" signature, just signature required.

Why can’t your cat sign for all your packages?

This is from the USPS site ... not real 'clear' about adult signature vs: any signature.

And Uncle and Iron Molly sure have different experiences using it. One worked, one didn't.

The mail-lady doesn't ask for my ID, even on adult delivery.. But then, I'm fairly certain people can tell I'm over 21.. darn it.

And my husband with his flowing grey beard - well forget about it. People giggle when he tells them he's not 21. Thank God they dont laugh at me yet.. lol
