I recently started dripping with a 901 and one of Drew's drip tips. I've grown pretty fond of it and remembered a video by Phee on how to remove the bridge from a 510 for more direct dripping. So I gave it a shot...
Once the bridge was removed the attys wick fell out and I was left with the coil exposed. This works great as long as I drip directly down the middle and the juice doesn't puddle up on the bottom of the wick chamber(not sure if there's another name for it) on the side. So this got me thinking about this thread. The 901s have a small vent on the base of the atty, when plugged it will cause suction similar to your Finger Atty.
So in theory all one would need to do is drill a small hole in the atty and insert the tube so that it presents the fluid directly to the coil. When the vent is covered during a drag that would pull more fluid over the coil. This wouldn't be as nice looking as The Finger but once the tube has it's form all you would need to do if the atty burned out would be to remove the bridge of a new atty and drill the hole. Unfortunately I don't have the tube to test it, but does this sound feasible? If needed I can provide pictures of what I'm talking about once my camera batteries charge.
