TFA Ripe Strawberry. So I ordered 4oz of this flavor to try a less candy version of the normal strawberries out there. I don't know if it's just me, but this smells almost like rotten strawberries. Don't always judge flavors by the smell, so I mixed up some peach and strawberry. Juicy Peach is delicious, as always. But this Ripe Strawberry tastes just like it smells. It's a strawberry taste like strawberries that have gone bad. Anybody else have an experience like this? Maybe I got a bad batch?

I've gotten several 8ml bottles of strawberry ripe & recently a 30ml does not smell or taste rotten to me or the 2 - 3 friends vaping it. have also mixed with juicy peach

Looking for guidance using TFA's 555 DK. 20 days ago I mixed 5% into a 50/50-1.2% base and it immediately tasted like cheap (terrible) perfume.

Crock pot at 150 degrees for 4 - 6 hours, multiple shakes, and waiting for 20 days.

Today it is not quite as bad, but it still reeks of perfume after flavors. Maybe I can taste slight tobacco, maybe.

Three questions:

1 - What can I add to minimize this perfume flavor?

2 - Should I add it now to the aged batch, or

3 - Start over with a fresh mix?

If the perfumey taste is from overflaving you could take a ml of the mix and add a ml of base and give that a try.

Cheers,
Steve

I also think some flavors and/or nic bases are just not meant to cook in crock pot. Just my opinion but anything I put in hot water bath all were premixed juices.. They all turned to perfume/chemical taste. I'm not a chemist so I can only make guesses as to why this happens besides too much flavor concentrate being added.

Shake often and a few days /week later test.

I loaded a brand new Kanger T3s with 1mL of the mix and 1mL of pure 50/50-1.2 base. I know the base is flavorless since I vape it off and on all day.

Same crappy perfume taste (and smell).

I was thinking that there may be some miracle flavor/additive that would alter that perfumeyness (new word).

The perfume is definitively coming from the TFA 555 DK bottle. I used a toothpick to taste the raw flavoring. ugh...

I have many other TFA tobacco flavorings. I was just trying to salvage this $1.49 bottle of TFA stuff. Being retired, I can spend hours chasing a buck-fifty problem...

LOL!!! You made my night!

I like your humor rowdyplace. Most problems are indeed from over-flavoring but some tobaccos are notorious for needing to age. Hold on, I have an aged sample, let me check...

This was mixed around mid-January at 4%. And nope, no perfume. Just sort of a musty, nutty smell perhaps akin to a pair of used gym socks aged in your junior high lockers for a month. In other words, just try giving it some more time.

Cheers!

I just got some Orange Sweet in. I kinda question it because it says it is "Natural Essential Oil". Is this stuff allright to be mixing with? Or is it gonna gunk the heck out of my coils? Or even more, my lungs?

Not an authoritarian answer, but believe that most avoid oil based flavors for vaping. Consequently I haven't purchased. Here's one thread that discusses.

Howdy Y'all, I've been playing with TFA sweet raspberry for quite some time now as a mixer with pretty much all the creams, vanillas, and custards. I've tried everything from 3%-11% and just can't nail it. I really want this flavor, but I'm about at my wit's end. Anyone have a tried and true recipe please?

What do you mean by true recipe and what taste are you trying to achieve...

A recipe that's been tried and was a successful flavor. I'm looking for a creamy raspberry taste. The formulas that I've tried have all been light on the raspberry. I'm wanting it to be stronger. Thanks.

This is what I imagine Blue Cheese Flavor to be like, but no amount of time will make the smell or taste better!!!:)
