I don't have the time to make the Oreo Cookie Flavoring today. However, I did jot down this starting recipe. I will start here:

Oreo Cookie, maybe cookies and cream?:

Chocolate - 4%
Double Chocolate - 4%
Sweetener - 3%
Sweet Cream - 3%
Bavarian Cream - 3%
Vanilla Custard - 2%
Peppermint - 1%

I have not tried this. This is just my thinking about starting percentages using these ingredients. When I get a chance, though, I'll work on it. I think we can knock it out. Anyone who has the time and the ingredients to work on this one, I would appreciate hearing from you! This one might be really good. I used to chop up my oreos in milk going back probably 50 years now....holy smokes, that's scary.....

Other ideas that I'm considering regarding the oreo juice....maybe dulce de leche (maybe for cookies and cream). No milk chocolate. Seems to me that we need to stay on the dark chocolate side, but will only be able to tell upon mixing. If peppermint turns out to be the missing ingredient as espoused by Arnie and Thunderball, then perhaps the cookie part is not needed additionally. For the cookie, I know that flavor art and DIY flavor shack makes one. If the cookie is truly a cocao base, then the bittersweet chocolate may be the ticket, and then no separate cookie flavor would be needed. Two cents...Good luck!

Edit:

Btw, I would test this as a 100 drop mix. Then adjust to taste for exact percentages. Bet we could get there in less than 800 drops. :2c:

Hey guys. Update - I just tried making Bill's Oreo recipe thought from above.

Double Chocolate clear - 4%
Double Chocolate dark - 4%
Sweetener - 3%
Sweet Cream - 3%
Bavarian Cream - 3%
Vanilla Custard - 2%
Peppermint - 1%

First thoughts... mix smells like Peppermint Patty candy. Mint at 1% is a tad too much. I will back it down to .5% tomorrow or the next day and see how that is.

vaping it though.... can taste the peppermint from the start but has a good Oreo flavor on exhale. Seems a little on the dry side. My only other thought would be to try a fudge flavoring to add a bit of a richer choco flavor but it's good right now and only will get better in a couple of days.

Not bad juice recipe guess Bill! Your experience shows my friend!!! Thank you for the jump start with everything too!

Thank you for this! It's on the list, and sounds perhaps closer that one might guess. Too much peppermint sounds right...strong stuff. Good to hear your feedback. Very helpful! Many thanks!

Hey all. First time poster here, I think. Was making some juice tonight and cracked into TFA Smooth for the first time. Should it have a smell and if so what should it smell like? Mine smells like Pina Colada big time. Thinking WL screwed up but wanted to check with the experts. Much appreciated.

Nope, WL did not screw up. Smooth smells like pina colada, and works like Magic.

Hello all!
I just spent three days reading almost everything on this thread! My eyes are killing me!
I have yet to mix a juice but have ordered TFA flavors, PG,Vg and nic. Also some glass wear and syringes.
After reading and saving most of the recipes I can see a lot of ordering in my near future.
My current vapes are GLV Deadly sin, NJ Grimms Army Tobacco and Donut Pounder. Just to show my tastes. I'll be trying to build something along these lines. I also like 5P Gambit should be a challenge. I find them to be complex and from my resent reading I now know why there so much better than the back room mixed local vape shops juices I have found around here.
This looks like the right place to start this journey.
Bill, you seem to have broken the code for us all to believe we can do this. You have helped so many here already, and me to! I can see myself vaping many of your mixes all day or at least switch between many of them all day long. I usually keep 3 or 4 kayfuns full by my side to swich it up often.
I have the mixers here but still waiting on the flavors. I have about 20 on the way.
Order Details:

10 ml Vanilla (Bourbon) Flavor (TFA)
10 ml Cheesecake Flavor (TFA)
10 ml Toasted Almond Flavor (TFA)
10 ml Cotton Candy Flavor (TFA)
10 ml Gingerbread Flavor (TFA)
10 ml Sweetener (TFA)
10 ml Kentucky Bourbon Flavor (TFA)
10 ml Cinnamon Danish Flavor (TFA)
10 ml Cinnamon Sugar Cookie Flavor (TFA)
10 ml Brown Sugar Extra (TFA)
10 ml Coconut (Concentrated) Flavor (TFA)
10 ml Cheesecake (Graham Crust) (TFA)
10 ml Tobacco Absolute (PG)
10 ml Vanilla Swirl (TFA)
10 ml French Vanilla Flavor Concentrate (CA)
I'm thinking this should give me a start on what I'm looking for. I also got a couple of FW flavors Caramal candy, yellow cake and double Apple.
I do like to cook but haven't done a lot of baking from scratch. Should be fun!!!

Great start Mekc57! Let us know if we can help! Great lineup on the juices too. No matter what you order, you will be one or two juices short of any recipe you wish to make. This is Juice Law.....absolute and all-consuming!

You'll be making great juice soon enough, about as long as it takes to get your TFA flavors in. You have most of the basics, now just buy based on specific recipes, and not on all recipes you see that you'll like, because before you know it, you'll have 150 flavors. Mike's Rule of 150 says that it's surprising how few juices you can make with 150 flavors, because of Juice Law regarding missing flavors, and not understanding that single ingredient mixes won't get you what you're after, generally speaking. So, target your recipes carefully. Good to have you here and subscribed. Good luck, You CAN DO THIS!

That's just crazy talk

Yes.....crazy talk. I'm not done yet. I have a few more to do, and I so enjoy doing it, and I've held nothing back from you. Soon, you all will be doing it too. Your juice is about to take off, and you can take it wherever you like. Good luck to you all, and thank you Mike!

This is no joke lol

I'm also very new at this (have a few brewing right now. Once I get some appropriate testing devices (I went ahead and got some bridgeless attys and they're on the way), it'll ramp my production up quite a bit. Right now testing is VERY limited, so I don't want to put out too much of what I may or may not have accomplished.

I agree though, Bill (and now you too Mike :p ) have provided quite a bit of experience for the rest of us new folk. My goal is to give it 6 months, as I feel that is an appropriate amount of time to not only succeed, but to fail as well. I truly believe my failures will teach me more than my successes early on. So no way I'll be getting discouraged!!

mekc57, keep us informed about your tasty recipes and the ones that are not so tasty....we can all continue learning this way! :2c:

Great research Mike!

Only one thing.... SUNLIGHT?!?!?!?!? I don't know about anyone else's opinion here, but that seems counter intuitive to me. UV rays destroy your nic content for one. It also can completely change the chemistry of the flavors. I'm not sure I would do it personally. Does anyone else have experience with this? I suppose I could be mistaken.:2c::2c:

Thank you for bringing that up. I don't recommend that either. When I steep I use the hot water method. 150 degrees for an hour or so. I know other ppl do this for 4 hrs or more. I don't have the time to babysit.

Do not hot water bath steep juice in plastic containers.

You are right, sunlight is recommended because it heats the juice and some think it facilitates steeping. The fact is that both heat and light will catalytically change the juice, both flavor and nicotine, though they do speed up steeping via a catalytic chemical bonding. However, doing nothing will still provide a good steep (my method). I also steep my flavors (the PG components) before I add the carrier base and nicotine in sealed glass re-agent bottles. I have found this to work best in my juices. I just don't wish to lose either flavor or nicotine, and I know that rapid steeping causes a loss to both. It's hard enough to try to find a way to achieve the flavor bonding anaerobically, which you cannot do with normal bottles. :2c:

quick stupid question:

What are those little plastic bead looking things that TFA sends along with the flavors?
There are no stupid questions red [emoji2]

Those are what I call micro pipettes. Most disposable pipettes have a longer stem, those seem not to.

If it were me, I would put them aside and use syringes for measuring. The drop method (IMO) isn't at all accurate. You could put more pressure one day on the bulb and have bigger drops than the day before etc. Then you have very different results... Which could lead to frustrating DIY'ing-and we don't need that!

I received my order from TFA. the Caramel Cappuccino is very strong. I could smell it in my mailbox. It doesn't smell very good from the bottle cap. (I always smell the cap, not the bottle) I have a feeling I'm not going to have a very high percent using this flavor in my juices. I do think it will be great for the protein shakes that I make with my flavors!

What's the highest percent anyone has used CC in juice?

I made the Mocha Coffee that was posted. Yummy! Thank you all for posting recipes!

Actually, with glass droppers, it is far more accurate than syringes, other than fully calibrated glass syringes (upward of $150+ ea). That being said, I make basic flavorings in no less than 100 ml at a time, just so to avoid accuracy issues as much as possible, and use probably five different syringes of various sizes to try to be accurate. That being said, I only use the 100 drop method to TASTE TEST juices. It works extremely well for me, providing about 2.5 ml or so per batch that I can then fully vape to find the flavor. Pretty hard to do with 5 drops on a dripper, one time, for example. Also, the beauty of the 100 drop method is that each drop equals 1%, which improves accuracy in the mix, without having to make 10 ml's or more, using only syringes. I am neither critical, nor a proponent for any particular method, but I do know what works best for me, and I make juice just about every day of my life these days, creating at least five new flavors every single week, so I have some experience at this. I have tried many, many methods and only know what works, or doesn't work, for me. Also, please remember that TASTE TESTING is not so much about complete accuracy, as it is about the right ingredients in their approximate amounts/ratios. The only way is by testing, over and over again, and the 100 drop method is quick and accurate for this.

Another point about glass droppers (I use the 4" ones), is that they can be used over and over again, and I just go through the plastic ones too quick. I can easily blow through a hundred, or more, per day. The plastic ones never really clean up well, for me. One thing that is important to remember is that using the 100 drop method allows us to generate a recipe based on percentage, and not on drops. The difference is important, as every dropper varies by the number of drops per milliliter, and the variance is huge at 18 - 38 drops per ml. The 100 drop method eliminates that problem. Also, unless you're measuring by weight, how can you be 100% sure that 30 drops, for example, equals EXACTLY one ml, for example? Really no way, so there can be big problems with the drop method, other than the 100 drop method. Anyway, works well for me. :2c: :toast: :vapor:
