get a bigger needle lol

A 14ga is pretty fat; that's what I always use for VG, but I don't keep my VG in the fridge either, since it's just Vg, no nicotine. I do keep my PG nicotine in the fridge, and it can be difficult sometimes when cold, with an 18ga needle, so I'd hate to imagine VG when it's cold, it's bad enough at room temp!

Maybe see if you can find a 10 or 12 ga needle, or maybe just pour, if you make large enough batches.

Andria

I switched to plastic tapered syringes at 14 ga, then cut them off to allow VG nic and VG to flow easily. Additionally, I use a 100 ml syringe that has a giant opening for VG. Both work great. Links:

Syringe 100CC/ML: Plastic Syringe: Amazon.com: Industrial & Scientific

Dispensing Needle, Plastic Tapered Beige 14 ga 0.063id x 1.25" Tip, 50 pcs: Science Lab Needles: Amazon.com: Industrial & Scientific

These both allow me to use VG nic at 100% and VG overall at 70% without having to kick the dog, so to speak! Good luck! :toast: :D

:2cool: :vapor:
Thanks for the suggestions :)

I do have some catheter tip syringes that I use (and work excellently) for my regular vg but they are large 30 ml and 100 ml so not good for measuring small amounts of nic vg.

I'll try both those suggestions. My usual vendors don't usually stock anything wider than 14ga so I guess I need to look elsewhere for either the 10ga needle our that dispensing tip that Bill speaks of. :)

I'll also look to see if I have any non luerlock syringes that I can ship the tips off. The only problem with that is that I basically need to stick the syringe in the bottle so drawing an exact amount might be more difficult. If that works, I guess I can always draw more than I need and expel to my desired measurement.

I haven't used any of my stash yet, but My Freedom Smokes has their 500ml plastic bottles of 100mg/ml going for $50.00 now, and that a better price than WIzard Labs.
(Plus there are discount coupons flying around all over for their site, like 10% off right now)!
2X54B1F544CEC0B coupon code

Of course they have it in PG or VG, or and ratios thereof.

I believe Bill has used their Nicotine?
Their nicotine is all I've ever used. No complaints here.

yep - seeing the sale price MFS had going on their 100mg nicotine back around 3rd week of november was what finally pushed me over the edge of "someday I'll start DIY" to jumping in with both feet. I understand from more recent reading that there are other concentrated nic vendors out there now that have very high quality nicotine base, and that's great - but I sort of "locked on" to MFS when I started reading about DIY a few years ago because of how many people posting here said so many good things about them and the quality of their nic base. Every so often I would check the liter price for 100mg 100% VG and it would usually be around (I think) $138 or so - I always managed to miss the sales they had going - but I decided to check back in November and saw the $50/liter sale. I jumped. LOL!

Then they had a black friday sale at $40 a liter :( Shame I didn't wait a few more days, but I was still very happy at $50/liter. Considering I've only used a little more than half of one 50ml bottle of it in close to 2 months, we should be set for a while. :) I haven't started trying to match the Mister E Liquid "Snow Day" flavor my wife vapes exclusively yet but once I do get that figured out, both of us will be on DIY. It's sort of an after dinner mints type flavor - like those little white soft mints that melt in your mouth. I've picked up some TFA flavorings based on some various after dinner mints and butter mints type recipes I've seen and bookmarked and will be giving it a try soon. I don't think any of them were using an HFM type mixing style though. :(

Those coils look pretty nice.

I picked up an "Artistic Wire Deluxe Coiling Gizmo" from Amazon for I think around $10 (shipped Prime). It does a good job also with the 1/16" mandrel, although you need to add a 6-32 wing nut, bolt, and 2-3 washers to it (cheap) to have a way to hold the end of the wire while you coil it. I sat down and made 7-8 coils so I'd have some quick change stock on hand. :) Somebody made a good youtube vid of how to use this to build tensioned micro coils (I can find the link if anyone wants it) and it did make coiling a lot easier.

Would be neat to have more usable options for inside diameter of the coil though. The other size mandrels that come with the Artistic Wire gizmo wouldn't be really useful for vaping coils.

Just curious, for testing batches what would be the best route to go? Should I pick up just a cheap dripper and swap out the cotton each time? I haven't done any coil building or anything but I wouldn't need anything amazing just to get a feel for the flavor. For the last year and a bit I have just been using a VTR, so no dripping or anything, but I have my second Cloupor T8 coming soon, first one died after 2 hours randomly (they figure a lose wire or something, mailed a new one out right away) so I only got a little taste of better clouds :p

CampbellMC I am a noob when it comes to rebuildable attys so there are probably other really good ones out there for flavor that more experienced folks could tell you about -- but I did a lot of reading and youtube video review watching before I settled on one to get for taste testing or vaping around the house. I kept seeing people talk about how great the Magma is for flavor. The originals are expensive ($100+) but there are some quality made clones out there. I picked up a couple Infinite Lava clones that I've seen many good reviews of for around $25 each from MBV after the coupon code and the price is a few bucks cheaper on them now. Infinite was making straight knock-off clones with the Magma/Paradigm logo and everything some months back, but now they don't have the logos anymore and they call them the Lava now. (I suppose to stay out of trouble with Paradigm). I don't have a lot to compare it against since these were my first RDA's, but the flavor is incredibly intense with them and they're really easy to build. Might be one to check out some video reviews on if you're still looking for one. Twisted420 has a good (and really funny!) review of the Infinite Magma clone on youtube but there are a bunch of others out there too.

The only thing about these is you have to be careful not to tip it too much/too long if you have a lot of juice in the well, it can run out the airflow control rings if any spills over the top edge of the juice well into the air passage (which is directly under where the coil(s) go). But it is definitely "flavor county" like Twisted420 said -- perfect for DIY taste testing.

Sounds good Nic-Holio
It's would probably work with several different fruits

Black Cherry Bubblegum

TFA Black Cherry 10%
TFA Vanilla Swirl 5%
TFA Sweet Cream 4%
TFA Bubblegum 3%
TFA Sweetener 4%
TFA Cotton Candy 2%

I had originally tested at 2% sweetener, and the Black Cherry seemed a bit lacking. So I doubled it to 4% to see if it would bring the Black Cherry out a bit more. It did - but I'm still trying to make up my mind whether it is too sweet or not. I may try bringing the Sweetener down to 3%.

I'm gonna give it a try with grape and see how that works.....then a strawberry....and maybe even a banana....oh the possibilities !!!!!

Grape and strawberry are both excellent. Haven't tried banana yet. Make sure and add about 2% strawberry to the grape. It'll help eliminate the chemical/floral in that flavoring. I found it essential. Raspberry works as well. Good Luck! :toast:

The Snow Day is a good liquid if you like that flavor (I do too) - It's one of the only flavors my wife can vape that she likes the taste of. They have a lot of really tasty liquids - I'd been buying from Mr. E for about 2-1/2 years. They're good people too, very up front to deal with and helpful.

I didn't like the Pirate's Bounty either. That's the one we decided to call Pirate's ..... :) It just got worse and worse the longer we let it sit. Never did finish the bottle.

it's pretty darn good. I do wonder though if the cotton candy might be masking the bubblegum flavor a bit though. That was my first use (ever) of cotton candy and it was just sort of an experiment. I like what it did to the vapor though, it seemed to thicken it some and added some pleasant smell and taste to it. I will probably 100DT some up without the cotton candy and see what that's like.

The grape I mixed up with TFA grape candy was quite good with the strawberry (or was it raspberry? I forget now without my notes handy) I added per Bill's recipe. I knew right then and there I liked Bill's mixing method. Knowing at the time of mix that it's going to be a good liquid beats 4 aces!

Masking or enhancing?

Just for fun, when you do your 100DT's, throw about 2% sweet and tart in there. Mouth Party! Taste explosion! :toast: :D

Yeah, that's true Bill - masking IS sort of a negative word and honestly I can't really criticize it. It's just different and not in a bad way at all really.

That Sweet & Tart is some good stuff. It really does put the "burst" in there.

That whole range of flavor possibilities is pretty amazing. Even works with watermelon. I was surprised. Good luck! :toast: :thumb:
