Just ordered more strawberry, cotton candy, and the new Philippine mango:) I have a flavor ordering addiction

Me too! :D I just got my long-awaited shisha strawberry, but the other day when I was checking Hobby Lobby to see if they had the Lorann's Cream Cheese Icing, I noted that although they didn't have that, they did have Lorann's Strawberry flavoring. If I ever get in a hurt again for the INW Shisha, I might try the Lorann's -- at least it saves the dadgum wait for vapemail! :D

Just got all my vapemail... all except that dratted Chi You ring from FT, but that's about what I figured. I made sure to order that well before the chinese new year crap, but maybe others did too; even though FT shipped it pretty promptly, the various far east shipping svcs might have been over-burdened by all of us on this side of the planet trying to squeak in before that interminable holiday.

Good morning crew.. I didn't get a chance to mix this weekend but I mixed a few last week. I made Bills Mango custard .. the mango was very light and I got to thinking.. so I adjusted the mango to a little less and added coconut at 3 % ... for me this made a huge difference.. Like Bill has said,, taste is subject to taste :) as soon as I get the chance to sit down i will experiment.. I also made a version of Bills Cream Fantasicio (mispell) but used raspberry sweet and Acia .. it was good but will have to reduce the raspberry .. in my droppertest I did not detect the "floral" but when I mixed a 30 ML bottle it came out.. after 3 days of sitting it reduced but still a little there .. I used 8% acia and 7% raspberry sweet.. I will also try regular ras next time .. the rest of the recipe was about the same as his :) Thank you guys ..

I've experimented with cotton candy. It was in my first stretch of mixes. I'll bring it back up to the drawing board. I've also noticed (maybe it's just me) that the flavor profiles tend to die off after a few days. One other thing, in your Pink Starburst recipe will strawberry ripe replace strawberry? I have strawberry and it's god awful. Lol. Thanks Bill!

Regarding strawberries, I prefer the sweeter to the ripe, though I will sometimes combine them with about 2/3 - 3/4 sweet with 1/4 - 1/3 ripe. Regarding flavorings generally, the beautiful thing about TFA flavorings is that they work in combinations, and rarely as standalones. Many blah flavors come to life in more complicated mixes by adding creams, vanillas and sweeteners/cotton candy. It's just how they work. But, that allows us a wide variety in our creations. If we had to use flavorings that were all dominant, we would not be able to create the nuanced flavorings that we can with TFA flavorings. For this reason, I prefer TFA over other brands. There are many ways to eliminate floral notes. Many posts and blogs on this. Good luck in your DIY! :toast: :D

Hoping our flavor orders come in today, know Andria is really needing her shisha strawberry and wants to see if likes malted milk in her sc recipe, or not, and I'm eager to get some new flavors in. Fingers crossed today brings flavor mail! Hoping Andria give a review on the dx cinn Danish once she tries out, I know John says dx versions are all pretty good.

My wife told me a little while ago my order from TFA just came in. Woot! 33 new flavors! I did order some DX Cinnamon Danish also, I wanna try out Bill's Cinnamon Danish recipe with it. :)

Just started stalking this thread a couple of days ago because I've been making the same one ingredient flavors for a long time now and really wanting to order more flavors and get more creative.
I still have a lot more pages to catch up on but I've noticed over the last few post I've read much talk about steeping. I too got impatient when mixing and having to wait days to weeks on end for the flavors to pop so I started researching ideas on how to speed up the process.
In youtube I found videos on making a stir plate. I was very intrigued with this and built one myself.
It is crazy how fast your juice mixes together and becomes vapeable within minutes.
Sorry if this was brought up in earlier post but like I said I have a lot more back tracking from the beginning to catch up on.
Here is a pic of the stir plate I made. If anybody is interested in knowing more please feel ask.

haha yeah it should keep me busy for quite some time. And doncha know... just about as fast as I put the order in and looked at some new posts here, there were interesting recipes with flavors I didn't order. :)

That ALWAYS happens, lol! And you had just gotten everything so organized too!

I would like to ask about mixing citric acid. I tried mixing it with PG and the citric acid just would not dissolve.

So, I decided to dissolve it in water. (You know what they say "water is the universal solvent" thanks to water being a bipolar molecule). I mixed 1 gram of citric acid with 9 ml of water and it dissolved just fine.

I figured that 1 drop of this water-based solution in 30ml of a PG/VG solution would be fine.

Is that what everyone else is doing to make a citric acid solution?

(I know this is the TPA thread, but since citric acid was being discussed, I thought I'd mention it here.)

I just made up some solution for the first time a week or 2 ago. I put 1/4tsp of the crystals into 30ml PG.

So I put the bottle in a pot of hot water, probably about 30 minutes total, with a plate sort of "captivating" the bottle lid to keep the bottle submerged, and kept taking it out every few minutes and shaking it. Like you, I kept looking at the bottle and seeing the crystals just didn't seem to be dissolving all the way. They dissolved a lot, but there were still a fair amount in the botom of the bottle that just wouldn't seem to go away.

After 30 minutes or so I gave up and just decided to let it sit on the counter for a while. After another 45 minutes or so I looked at the bottle again and the crystals had completely dissolved and I've not seen any crystals in the bottle since.

Andrea, just be aware the Loran's strawberry you would get at Hobby Lobby has food coloring.

For your FT order, I don't know for sure, but if you just did free shipping on an order for less than $20 it may take 30 days or more to arrive. And with the strike and holiday (though it sounds like your order shipped before that) it could take awhile. I finally got notice on a China order that shipped on Feb 6 (I always pay for tracking) is finally in NY. Most orders get routed through USPS once in the states and if you have a tracking number you can have USPS email you updates. Now that also depends on the package actually being scanned. I have received orders from here in the US and the tracking notices days after delivery!

ohhh man... I am wondering if maybe I should have ordered the Graham Cracker (Clear) instead.... hahha I had no idea it was this dark!

How does Graham Cracker (Clear) taste and mix in recipes compared to the regular (dark colored)?

graham-cracker_20150223_180214_zps29pi0ybd.png

Oooooooh, I try not to get "darks" of anything unless absolutely necessary. Nic, I think someone mentioned this is a bit "spicier" than the "clear". But, if you're not using much, I doubt it would over-color your juice....

That looks pretty rich

I originally bought some regular graham cracker as well. It is REALLY REALLY dark!

So, I just ordered 4 oz of Graham Cracker Clear.

The dark is very hard to measure with my syringes and I'm afraid it might be rough on my coils.

yeah - thats exactly what I'm thinking....

Well I'll be using the regular for a while most likely. 4oz is probably going to last me a while :) But when I run out, or if this proves to really cause me problems with coils etc., I'll get some clear instead.

But as DingerCPA mentioned, I probably won't be using this in a high percentage. Offhand the recipes I've seen don't use a high percentage of it that I can recall.

Thanks everyone.

BTW I have a "like" for the DK Tobacco + Coconut + Caramel etc. recipe I posted - one of the guys I work with vaped it all day today. He said he would give me some more review after he'd vaped it for a while. I definitely will test it after it has sat a few weeks (and at least a couple "flavor changes") to see what it's like after a few weeks.

Andria, just be aware the Loran's strawberry you would get at Hobby Lobby has food coloring.

I noticed that; that, and knowing that my vapemail would very likely be here today, is why I didn't go ahead and buy some -- I had just come from a local B&M where I bought some "Strawberry Fields" by Hard Rock Vapor -- which is ok, but certainly not as good as my DIY. :D

Yes, it shipped on Feb 9, exactly 2 wks ago, which was 10 days prior to their holiday. I expect it should be here pretty soon, it's just the lack of tracking that's driving me wild -- I just couldn't really justify the cost of it, for something that only cost $2.31. :D I daresay in that 2 wks prior to the holiday, there were a LOT of orders, so that might slow it down somewhat. At least it's nothing really essential -- Edyle told me that a Chi You Kick ring would fit a Vamo, and allow the use of 18490/18500 batteries -- 18350s have such short run-time, and a Vamo with an 18650 is so freaking HUGE -- a mid-sized battery seems the ideal solution. So the last Kayfun I got was the gold-toned, and I ordered a brass kick ring, and put all that together with a gun-metal vamo, should look pretty snazzy! The gold kayfun just on the Vamo with the 18350 already looks pretty swell! :D

No flavor mail for me, but got glass bottles, washed and dried, labeled and transferred, put extras away...mixed up redeuler's strawberry-vanilla cupcake, have been wanting to try that one for a bit, but been distracted, but I should get Bcv order tomorrow...looks like the stuff from wl might be 2days. I was trying to see what else Nic got in picture, butter, fudge brownie maybe? Love those 4 oz bottles!
