The State of Confusion
I think I read here that cotton candy makes a decent single flavor mix. If so what would be a good starting %?

Cotton Candy is diluted Em in PG I believe....

In the Recipes Zip file in the DropBox folder it has the recommended starting percentages for flavors...However it is a base guide from Bill, there have been a few lists published here in this thread..I actually have them also ...somewhere...LOL

When I find the list by flavor I'll put it up on the DropBox for download...I'm still looking for it....

:toast:I am very new to DIY...I purchased a few flavor s a couple of weeks ago and did two 10ml juices. One was a lucky charms recipe I found and the other was me tossing a few together to create a strawberry cream of sorts. Both came out pretty good. I am pretty picky with my juice though. If I have 100ml of something and I don't like it even a little I don't vape it so that worries me a bit as I am sure to have many stumbling blocks on this new journey one of which I am sure is tossing juice. Anyway It got me excited and next thing I know I made a $198 order last night with TFA another $50 from wizard labs....lol talking about jumping in feet first. I certainly hope I can pull off some good mixes. I go through liquid very fast and hope that in the long run I can save money. Although I love my lion by illuminati with some passion so unless I can figure out a "close enough " mix that will satisfy that itch I might have to keep that one on hand. :) I am open to suggestions if anyone has one :)
With all that said the one thing I forgot are bottles....hmmm yep I think I need those. Any good place to get started with those. I have a few 10ml and tried to wash out some 120ml bottles but I don't think I will fair well with those as the bottles still smell like the juice that was in them. LDPE or HDPE, does it matter. I like glass but hate the dripper a that come with them so would prefer plastic.
Who orders $250 worth of DIY stuff but forgets to get bottles.
<----- this person does!!! looking forward to staying tuned to this thread.

Hi Crocky :) I ordered the Cobalt Blue bottles from Amazon 1oz Cobalt Blue Glass Bottles with Glass Eye Dropper - Pack of 12: Science Lab Dropping Bottles: Amazon.com: Industrial & Scientific. These are NOT child-proof caps (the 15mL bottles I got did have child-proof caps. I'm the only "child" in my house :D)

I have a bunch of plastic bottles I'd saved from when I purchased juice. I'll use those if I'm going to make a small/test batch that won't have a lot of "staying power".

You might try soaking your 120ml bottles in some vodka or pga? That might take the smell out.

Welcome ya'll!

Bill has posted his 100dt (100 drop test ) method here a few times, and it's also in his blog...a very useful method if you're new to DIY.

You can get it from either Nicoholio or Bill's Magic Vapor....

I stick to mostly fruit type blends, but I have tossed a bit while learning...I started way before this thread was here!

PGA will usually clean the smell out of plastic pretty well...I try to only reuse plastic when I have to, and use the same flavors in the bottles when at all possible, shoot the plastic is so cheap...if you buy in bulk, which you might as well..FastTech is a great, cheap source!

You'll do just fine...did you see where I posted a link to my DropBox?

There are quite a few proven TFA recipes in there!

Just ask away, there are a lot of folks who have been at this for years and can help you if you need a hand! :toast:

Heya and thank you! I need to go through my juice drawer. I have a crap ton of bottles with juice in them that I will likely never vape. Was going to sale them all off cheap or PIf them but I might be better off trying to soak them. Don't have vodka but I do have some alcohol sitting around....not sure of the grain level but just regular ole household alcohol. Guess that will work, worth a shot anyway. Using recycled bottles for test batches sound good. Anything that pass the test will go in 120ml bottles. Although if I can't get the smell out I would like to get a few dozen 10ml for testing.
I love the blue cobalt bottles but I hate the drippers they come with. I want something easy I don't have to unscrew every time I go to drip. As for children I hear ya, no youngins at my house either except myself....lol. 44 this month

You're just a young pup ;) (Happy Birthday early!)

I was just thinking about "decanting" into some of the smaller plastic bottles just for when I want to drip - I don't like the dropper tops for that same reason. But, for filling a tank - good to go.

I wouldn't use isopropyl. If you don't have vodka (unflavored), go with clnire's suggestion of vinegar (white would be better - I've used that to clean out coffee pots before) or the water/baking soda (I prolly wouldn't mix vinegar and baking soda together ;) )

I did, thanks! However for some reason I can't open it....sent you an email. I am obviously pretty challenged. ;)
I could open the percentages though!

Just in case any of you folks run into this with MAC', or IPads...

You will need Winzip for the IOS from the App store.

Zip is a compression format native originally to DOS, and then Winzip for Windows....they forgot about the Mac users...so now there is Winzip for the IOS!

Likewise DMG files are the native compression utility (format) for Mac' takes a special utility for Windows users as we cannot work with DMG files without an add-on called 7-Zip which handles various compression utilities for Windows users.

Not to confuse but there is also a 7-Zip for Mac' now as well...(not sure if it is available from the App store, but if you want it just Google 7-Zip for Mac).

To be honest I'm not sure of the features or differences in Winzip vs. 7-Zip for the Mac platforms, I do know that originally 7-Zip handled more formats than Winzip (for Windows), now they are probably very similar....

Hi all!

I wanted to note that the Suggested Starting Percentages for Flavors document is in dire need of updating!

The one I posted in my DropBox appears to be from 2013, and is missing a lot of flavors!

Any and all contributions are greatly appreciated! :thumb:

I believe Bill can now upload to my DropBox so hopefully he can help out a bit?

We are both very busy with work and I will be checking in from time to time....
