does anyone premix nic and vg to a desired strength and then put in freezer? thought it would make it easier to mix when its time to make juices.
You could do that. I get my nic with a PG base you can get it with a VG base if you desire. You will not get any pure nic 100mg nic is 10% nic in either PG or VG or a blend of the two.
If you do that you have to wait for the mix to warm up as it is very stiff, will not freeze but gets really thick esp the VG.
If you do make a mix clearly mark it as you would not want to add nic 2 times.
Because my flavor percentages are so varied, I'd never land at my "desired" nic level from one recipe to another. I am less concerned with my PG/VG ratio, so I mix my flavors, add my nic (VG-based) and then top off with 50/50, 25p/75v or 100v, depending on what I'm mixing and for whom. (I usually only use 100v, but I mix for a couple of friends, and will do the blends for them.)
Yowza ... made a melona batch for a friend who vapes 8mg (I vape 5mg) and I just doubled it up so I had some for me since I was lazy. man, that extra 3mg is kicking me in the head!
Have you tried vaping the VG by itself? You can maybe isolate to that being your problem child. That, or make a 100DT w/o nic to see if the nic is the culprit?
Haha,i know that feeling all too well.When i started i vaped 24mg,after a few months i dropped to 18mg,but i still had about 15ml of some diy juice that was 24mg that i had forgotten about,it sat in the cabinet for a few months after the drop,and not wanting to waste it,i figured i would just finish off the bottle.All i can say is WOW,it just about knocked me on my .... haha.
No I need to do this. Start with the Vg, vape, then add the nic, vape and then the Pg, vape. See where the BUT comes in. I will get around to that soon.
I do mix about 250ml of PG, VG and nic in such a proportion that when I add flavour at 20% to it it's the right mix I want to end up with but I don't put it in the freezer since I would be using it in under a month. I only freeze nicbase for long term.
Recently I've been mixing the flavours into 30ml recipes to have them at hand and don't have to get out a million bottles every time. Most of my recipes are in the 25% to 30% region but in my RTAs that is feeling a little too much - so I am only adding about 20% to my premixed base. It's working out just fine for me.

It's been quite a while since I've done a tobacco, but I would typically do a taste test once a week on it to determine optimal steep times... I know it isn't much of an answer, but seeing as how personal tastes play such a factor, it's the best I've got... for me, my RY4's were best after about 3 weeks.
I'll probably try in a few more days, yes I'm patient...also still enjoying my watermelon mixes...kaz, I tried dripping last year made me cough terribly so I stuck with tanks, tried some igo thing, forget which model...not for me, ow my throat(!!!). Hope all is going well with you and your wife
Chanel, I got pg and vg from Amazon, essential depot before, mine had no odd tastes, not sure what other brands sold there though...have you tried solo to test yet? I'm thinking it's a flavor...b.u.t. from vendor and diy mixes....there has to be a common denominator here....I could be wrong, very wrong, have been before. Sweetener? Nicotine? I know you have tried a lot of vendors, so thinking...what could b.u.t. really be???? B.m. beat me to it, great suggestions, hope doing well too!

Got in dx caramel original, silly rabbit, and fudge brownie....other brands too yesterday...not sure why order when have so many and so little time, flavor shopping is addicting though...especially why in summer, when busier at work, and the boys keeping me so busy...got fruit requests, no citrus or tank crackers to make for neighbor...thinking Flamingo and a snake oil clone...simplicity and tasty!
Celebrating 2 years smoke free tomorrow too...yay!!! Never imagined this long...amazing!
But I will post thoughts once try out the lassi attempts...even if yuck and need of adjustments
