Hello everyone as you know I am a newbie and a lurker on here and I have got some GREAT information and made some very good recipes from you all on here also. I am really bummed at my try to create my own I have been told less is better but following Bills advice the more flavor are the better ones for me but I have no clue on how to start with a lot of flavor so I don't have to let them steep for months. I have been working on a sugar cookie and I can not get the base down no matter what. It has sugar cookie, barvarian cream etc in and I either get no taste or taste just the one flavor. So I am asking you all how do you figure out your precentages I mean the 100 DT is a good one for me if I am using someone else recipe but when I try it on my own they are horrible. Can you please give me some suggestions on how to do this so I can create my own instead of having to depend on someone else or ask someone for a recipe? I don't mean to say that I don't like using the recipe on here they are wonderful but I want to do my own so I will feel better about it .

Bill's suggestion, that proved so valuable to me, is 50% of the flavor for the "main" flavor, and 50% for the "supporting" flavors -- creams, vanilla, sweetener. My own strawberry and cream isn't *exactly* at those 50/50 guidelines, but pretty durn close -- 16% Inawera shisha strawberry, and 15.5% of the various supporting creams and sweetener (6% DX Bavarian, 4.5% Vanilla Swirl, 2% CAP Sweet Cream, and 3% sweetener) -- and it works great! Really delicious.

People will scoff at using so much flavor, but let 'em -- I'm vaping delicious stuff, and HANG the gunk! :D

I'm by no means an expert and have only been doing mixing for a few months but always start my main flavor around the 10-12 mark.[/QUOTE

Thanks I usually do that also my big problem is getting the fillers like the things that go along with it. My main one would be sugar cookie and the rest would be filers but I am not tasting any of them much they are there but just not great

Where did you get the starting percentage for sugar cookie? I looked on the dropbox starting percentage list and didn't see it on there.
I didn't know there was a precentage list in drop box where is it at? I just got it off of the site where I purchased the flavor. Just what is all in the drop box all I have is bills information

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk

Welcome @vapbamafaye :)

You're kind of discovering the beauty of the 100DT. This is the "sandbox" in which you can play to try your percentages to see if you get a decent mix, without having to waste a bunch of flavoring.

When you say you "want to get it better", what don't you like about the existing? Is there too much/not enough cinnamon? Is there too much/not enough caramel, graham cracker? Is it not sweet enough?

*YOU* have to evaluate what you do or don't like about a flavoring. Just as a thought, something like this I'd be inclined to add a touch of bavarian cream or vanilla swirl (3-4%), and probably a couple drops of sweetener/ethyl maltol (1-2%).

I find the creams and sweeteners "round out" the primaries. They "boost" the existing flavors or "take off the edges" of sharp flavors....

I have considered sugar cookie as a secondary flavor not a primary/main one. But that may just be me.
That maybe it I am just looking for a vape that taste like the sweet sugary sugar cookie from the bakery

You may need something like cotton candy in there? I have not messed with my Sugar cookie yet. I should mix up a single flavor mix of it to see how it can be used...

I either consult the TFA suggested percentage list, or, for other brands, ask for suggestions in the thread for that brand. It's not always right, but it gives you a place to start -- when I asked in the Inawera thread about the shisha strawberry, the suggestions were in the 4%-8% range, so I tried it -- it just tasted "thin". Around that time, I was involved in reading as much as of this thread as I could get thru, and Bill's blog, and looking at his recipes, so I tried the 16% amount, offset with (at that first effort) 16% of the various supporting flavors. I had to tweak the mix a couple of times to get it *just right*, but the 16%/16% worked amazingly well even pre-tweaking -- it was just a bit high on the DX Bavarian, so I lowered that just a little, increased the sweetener a little, and BANG, great juice.

If it's a calculator you need, to get all the measurements of everything right, lots will recommend the eJuiceMeUp calc, but I find it very limited; I prefer this calculator: DIY E-Liquid Calculator Ten Flavors With Nicotine Plus PG/VG Adjusting -- it allows you specify a nic level and PG/VG level for every single item, which makes it easy to use for combining pre-mixed ejuice, or adding WTA.

When trying a recipe for the first time, either use Bill's 100DT, or mix no more than 5ml, so if it doesn't turn out well, you haven't wasted much. Can't tell you how many of those 5ml testers I've had to pour down the sink. :D

ETA: not every flavor is going to suit you, in a given brand -- if you can't get what you want with a certain flavor in a given brand, try that flavor from another brand -- this thread, obviously, is primarily for TFA flavors, but not every flavor of theirs is perfect for everyone -- I have to use Capella for Sweet Cream because I prefer to avoid diketones. I use Inawera for the strawberry because I can't find any other strawberry flavor that suits me.

No just a plain old sugar cookie :)

I'd use Sugar Cookie, Biscuit (is a European cookie) or graham cracker, brown sugar, a drop of butter per 10ml, & a.cinnamon. Maybe the graham cracker has enough cinnamon in it tho. Not the Cinnamon Danish which has more of a yeasty, bakery roll type flavor. I think that is keeping you from getting the cookie style & might be muting your other flavors. If you want sugar cookie then that should be your primary ingredient, try 10%. Think of your own sugar cookie recipe. There are no creams or milk in there, it would turn it away from cookie flavor & toward a cream or custard.

    Somewhere between here and there
A few times a year we make real sugar cookies and there is vanilla in that recipe. I think Robert is on the right track. There is a lot of sugar and some vanilla in sugar cookies. I would start with the sugar cookie maybe a little bit higher and then do some type of vanilla and some EM(cotton candy). Maybe use that as a base and go from there.
