What is usally good % for Dragonfruit. I just started playing with it and love the flavor
The trick is to mix the dragon fruit with the strawberry. I would start at 3% strawberry and 6% dragonfruit and plan to go as high as 6% strawberry and 12% dragonfruit. Of course, you don't have to add the strawberry, but the combination of the two is a better mix, imho, though YMMV. A final may end up at 5% strawberry and 10 - 12% dragonfruit. Don't forget that fruits need their sweeteners (sweetener or EM), and perform best with both vanilla and cream (both at 6% or less flavoring in order to not compromise the fruits). Also, when I mention strawberry, I'm referring to the sweeter strawberry and not the ripe. I tend to think of the ripe as the "skin" of the fruit, and sweet as the internal "fruit" of the flavoring. Also, often a 2/3 mix of sweet over ripe makes an even better blend (or even 3/4 over 1/4). Good luck! :toast: :D

Sounds nice! I must get around to making some more orders.

I definitely agree with adding strawberry with the dragonfruit, it's definitely better with it than without. I use cap's sweet strawberry, I know I'm cheating heh. I do have tfa's ripe, but I prefer the sweet with the dragonfruit. I tried both.

I've been having some good successes with fruits and creams.

a good starting point might look like this
10% fruit (I like honeydew, strawberry, and green Apple)
5% vanilla bean ice cream, vanilla bean gelato, or vanilla swirl.
5% sweet cream
2% sweetener

I typically favor vanilla bean gelato. vbic will give you a denser heavier mouth feel. The vanilla swirl will be light with a nice vanilla "bite" ... and the gelato is nicely in between.

I'm looking for a good tropical flavour if anyone has any great knowledge?

I've got mango Fa and passionfruit CAP.

Also have green apple FA
tutti fruitti FA
Key lime FA
Strawberry kiwi CAP
cantaloupe CAP
Marshmallow CAP
Masocirano cherry FA
Rainbow drops FA

Also have

Sour FA
and eythl maltol

Does anybody have any good recipes related to these products or who can give me some good combinations or recipes using these? Or maybe point me in the right direction of what flavours to add to my Arsenal?

I really want to try a good key lime pie flavour also! As the key lime tastes pretty good on its own but could do with a little more depth and dimension in flavour?

Any percentages or recommendations will be greatly received!

Thanks in advance

From my blogs, I had some tropical:

Lot of fruit options here. I have a couple of tropical recipes:

Flamingo

Strawberry - 8%
Juicy Peach - 7%
Coconut - 3%
Sweetener - 2%

Tropical Paradise

Pineapple - 7%
Coconut - 6%
Bavarian Cream - 6%
Dulce de Leche - 2%
Sweetener - 2%

Lots of possibilities. I call this one Cool Breeze, and it is also reminiscent of a walk down a tropical beach to me:

Cool Breeze

Watermelon - 9%
Blueberry - 7%
Menthol - 4%
Raspberry - 4%
Lemon Lime - 2%
Koolada - 2%
Cotton Candy - 2%

And, of course, a custard:

Mango Custard

Mango 11%
Cotton Candy 7%
Vanilla Custard 6%
Bavarian Cream 6%

So, just sharing a couple of ideas with you. Let us know a final recipe please!

Also, here's some pie ideas for you:

I like pie. Yes, I'm a pie man. Here's some pies that I like:

Lemon Meringue Pie

Lemon - 12%
Marshmallow - 6%
Bavarian Cream - 4%
Cotton Candy - 5%
Graham Cracker - 3%

Dutch Apple Pie ala Mode, my Signature juice:

Apple - 12%
French Vanilla - 4%
Sweetener - 4%
Pie Crust - 4%
Graham Cracker - 3%
Brown Sugar - 2%
Butter - 1%
Cinnamon - .5%

Vanilla Custard

Vanilla Custard - 13%
Sweetener - 6%
Vanilla Bean Ice Cream - 3.5%
Egg Nog - 2%
Butter - 2%
Graham Cracker - 1.5%

Chocolate Cream Pie

Milk Chocolate - 5%
Double Chocolate - 4%
Sweetener - 4%
Vanilla Swirl - 5%
Whipped Cream - 3%
Sweet Cream - 3%
Graham Cracker - 6%

Coconut Cream Pie

Vanilla Custard - 6%
Coconut Extra - 5%
Graham Cracker - 4%
Sweetener - 3%
Sweet Cream - 3%
Pie Crust - 2%
Vanilla Swirl - 2%

Peach Cobbler

Juicy Peach - 10%
Sweetener - 4%
Cinnamon - 1%
Brown Sugar - 2%
Graham Cracker - 1.5%
Vanilla Bean - 1%
Sweet Cream - 1%

Key Lime Pie

Key Lime - 13%
Pie Crust - 3%
Sweetener - 3%
Whipped Cream - 2%

Pecan Pie

Pecan - 5%
Graham Cracker - 5%
Pie Crust - 3%
Sweetener - 3%
Brown Sugar - 2%
Vanilla Bourbon - 2%

You can learn as much about pie making studying both the similarities and the differences. I can see the evolution in my juice because I remember making each one, and know a few tricks here and there. For example, if you are going to use pie crust, also use graham cracker. Not always true, but true to me today. There are many others. The patterns are there if you are interested. Another thing, some of these recipes are going on two years old. I could probably improve on them today, and so could you! Ciao!

I think you're right on target there Cliffy15. I'm sharing some ideas from my blogs to help the new members who may not have seen these ideas:

Just an observation, but I have had really good success with vanillas and creams and sweetener in my juices. Often times when I hear about members having problems with their mixes, they don't use these supporting flavorings that enhance, brighten, thicken, and enrich their primary flavors. I thought I would go back to my post about how new juice makers can make great juice today and look at some of my rules of thumb. I thought it might be helpful to list primary flavoring(s), creams and vanillas, and sweeteners as a percentage of total mix. So, here's what that looks like:

Custards

Vanillas and Creams - 12%
Sweeteners - 7%
Primaries - 7-13%

Danish

Vanillas and Creams - 6-8%
Sweeteners - 4-8%
Primaries - 7-13%
Secondaries - 3-7%

Creams

Vanillas and Creams - 10%
Sweeteners - 5%
Primaries - 7-13%

Pies

Vanillas and Creams - 5-8%
Sweeteners - 4-6%
Primaries - 7-13%
Secondaries - 4-8%

Tarts

Vanillas and Creams - 8%
Sweeteners - 2-4%
Primaries - 7-15%

Ok, so overall, my favorite juice mixes have a range of uses of these common ingredients, as follows:

Overall Ranges

Vanillas and Creams - 5-12%
Sweeteners - 2-8%
Primaries - 7-15%
Secondaries - 3-8%

Every juice must be custom tweaked to match your taste sensibilities, but there are some rules of thumb that do work for me. My average juice will have vanillas and creams of about 8%, sweeteners of about 4%, Primary flavorings of about 10%, and secondary flavorings of about 5%, or an average overall flavoring of 27%:

Average Flavorings

Vanillas and Creams - 8%
Sweeteners - 4%
Primary Flavorings - 10%
Secondary Flavorings - 5%

Total Overall flavoring in the mix = 27%. :thumb:

So, these are my rules of thumb, in hindsight, after making about two hundred different juices and over 50 ADV's. This is my happy place. Do you know yours? :rickroll:

Taste IS subjective. What works for me, may not work for you, so you have to develop your own flavorings that suit you. If you do this, you will develop profiles, probably similar to what I have shown here, with differences tailored for your tastes. After a while, the repetitive nature of juice making will cause you to instinctively know how to make juices that are going to match your tastes, as these lists show my tendencies. In so doing, you will find that you can easily design flavorings on paper, that surprisingly well work out upon first mix. It's because you have spent your time in the Vape Lab, finding what works for you. In the end, it's not magical vapor, but rather your experience that will give you the answers you need to make great juice for you, and your friends and loved ones. :2c: :D

Thats some good info there that I wish had tried 6 months ago. I usually end up with flavor % between 16-24% in most my mixes but ill try little higher and see what happens.
I make juice for other people but don't really charge for it because I don't think my recipes are where they should be. Maybe after some this info they will be

Continuing thanks to Bill for all the advice here. I'm sure I'm not the only one whose liquids only became vapable after reading this thread and trying Bill's mixes.

I tried DIY for a couple of months with terrible results. I still stocked Yaeliq's orange, green Apple, and mother's milkshake flavors because I couldn't figure out how to make something acceptable for myself.

I used Bill's mixes as a start-over and only once I found a couple that would become ADVs did I venture off into my own flavors. The do over from this thread is what turned it around for me.

I still have yet to try the milkshake. I srruggled with a mochi (and have determined that the other popular mochi premades don't actually taste like mochi) but found out that I like toasted almond.

I have a ton of flavors that I either don't like or will probably never use but is completely offset by the flavors I do like and the fact that I've saved lots of dollars by mixing lots of liters of my own stuff!

btw, here's a variation of one of Bill's flavors that I like. I take his Twinkie recipe (I premixed the flavor) and tried it like this:

4% butterscotch
18% Twinkie

It's kind of growing on me so much that I'm encouraged to try a fruit variant too :)

    Somewhere between here and there
I swore I wouldn't spend any more on vaping this month but really need to get in a flavoring order. I keep seeing recipes that I want to try. I thought I had a pretty good selection on hand already but keep finding that I am missing flavors.

The one that's really jumping out at me is the key lime pie! Just out of curiousity with that recipe would you need graham cracker and pie crust or have you just found that using the one works better for you? I'm still so fresh at this and have only been making juice for a few weeks and I'm still making single flavours but have had a few successes for example rhubarb and custard sour skittles or rainbow drops as well as tutti fruitti but still trying to add that shop bought feel to them the flavours all seem a little muddled

I'm running into this same problem! I do have a lot of flavors but there are about 20 more I intend to buy. Hubs an I use to have our version of the "swear money jar" for when we wanted to buy a pack of smokes or even if we thought of having a cig...put money in the jar. After a while, that built up and we would buy something vaping related with it - juice, atty, coils, whatever... But it's been bone dry for a long while now lol

Guess we need to put the "swear jar" back on the counter - I could fill that up in a day just reading recipes I don't have the ingredients for!

You need both pie crust and graham cracker. I arrived at this combination by trial and error, but you can duplicate these results and see for yourself. I was surprised too, by the results, once upon a time. Good luck!
