I love to travel as well! Never been out of the country however but Germany has always been on my "Oh how much I would love to go there" list

Well let's put it this way if I was told I could live anywhere but the US in the world I would choose Germany!

It has nothing to do with being German, as I was born and raised here, so I only know Germany as a country to visit and my families homeland...

But such warm people and such a beautiful place, not to mention GREAT FOOD!

Apparently from what I heard from a bunch of the Reo folks Rob is bailing on ECF.

I own a few Reo mods....

I only have one and that's a REO mini. I love it!!!

Well, I have a link in my signature, so, I guess every time I post it is available for others to link to! I primarily use Provari mods with Taifun's RTA's. I do like the new Radius now, but I've been using Provari's for four years now and they are very dependable, and when I do break one, which happens half a dozen times a year, they usually repair them for free. I have never tried a REO mod, but some of my best e-cig friends use them. Glad you're back from Germany. What took you there?

Hey guys, new here and a new diy'er. I have a question on the Strawberries and Cream from the flavor apprentice. I bought a bunch of flavors from them, but i was really hoping to vape a good Strawberries and Cream. I have made two batches now and they both taste like crap. Pretty sure I can only taste the VG and NIC, both 100% from E-Cig Express, also used sweetener from E-Cig. I was trying to follow Fresh's recipe from youtube. I am using a kanger subvod with .5 occ coil, Anyway here are my recipes:

1st try
5ml total
0.3 ml nic (100mg VG)
4.3 ml VG
0.4 ml (25 drops)(10%?) Strawberries and cream

Mixed this up and the juice tasted awesome right out of the bottle, but when I vaped it all I got was a crappy peppery taste, couldn't even suffer through 2ml in my tank.

2nd try
11ml total
0.6 ml nic (100mg VG)
6.4 ml VG
4 ml Strawberries and cream (I know, right?)
10 drops of sweetener

Same result, tastes good out of the bottle, but terrible vaping, not even a hint of strawberries.

I also made the Fruit Circles same way but at 10% and 30%. 10% was almost ok, not much flavor, but the 30% was way better, still a little muted flavor but very vapable. I just made up a word there, lol.

What am I doing wrong with the Strawberries and Cream? Could it be a bad batch? But why would it taste good out of the bottle, but terrible when vaping?

Also, do i need to steep a one note mix?

Just got in from Germany....it's like 7:30 AM to me, but it's not....LOL

I did learn something very interesting....living in the South and all...

We think in the US we like / love to BBQ...nah...

The Germans have BBQ shops the size of Bass Pro shops with every grill and smoker and accessory imaginable!

I went to a place in Cologne, Germany that was the size of a Bass Pro and was nothing but grilling stuff, BBQ' from every company in every color shape and size...

Now that's cool! Did you spend the day in there?

I mean being German I know to a large extent "how Germans are", but when it comes to grilling they are nutzo!

They are fanatics about it!

This place has a separate Weber store aside from the main "warehouse" of every grill and smoker and accessory you could imagine!

Add a Bass Pro Shop and I would have to consider moving in!

I think that 90 - 95% of single flavor mixes don't work, nor are they intended to. These flavorings are not concentrates that just require dilution with a carrier and nicotine, but specific food flavorings, which, when combined together with other flavorings can create specific juices. Take a banana recipe for example. To get just a banana recipe you need both the sweet flavor, the peel flavor, the creamy flavor, the sweet flavor, etc. So, just to make a plain banana would require at least four or five different food flavorings.

This is important to understand. It is the pieces that each flavoring is that allow us to make very complex mixes with many nuances and the greatest variety. If all the multiple flavorings were in each food flavoring, then you would have a concentrate of a juice, and not a specific flavor note. Because we have just very specific partial mix flavorings, or notes, if you will, then we have the most flexibility in creating a juice as we can combine many notes together to make virtually any flavoring imaginable. I hope that makes sense and hope others pipe in on this concept. When I was first making my breakthrough understandings in juice making I noticed that certain flavor combinations worked better than others. I have a blog that explores this concept here:

Most of the commercial juices are complex flavorings made the same way with multiple multi-layered flavorings all combined to make a great juice. While this is true, it's what also makes it harder, at first, to learn to make great juices. Regarding the Strawberries and cream flavoring, specifically, I use this flavoring as a background note and not a primary flavoring. If you want Strawberries and Cream, try mixing Strawberry, Cream, vanilla, sweetener individually at a minimum. Also, TFA strawberry and ripe strawberry seem to work better together than apart, and there are better sweet strawberry flavor makers than TFA, imho. Many prefer Inawera to TFA, for example. There are some excellent strawberry and cream recipes on this thread too, as it is a favorite of many. Search for that flavoring...there are many winners, or check the dropbox recipe site. Many good ones.

Thanks for the reply Bill's, I will read that blog and take notes. I understand what you are saying, I see that now as I was looking up S&C recipes. I was trying to get a quick juice done so I could quit buying the expensive stuff from my vape shop. Thanks for the help, the fruit circles one does taste pretty good, but just need to use a ton of it. And I thought it was weird that when I tasted the S&B out of the bottle I wanted to squirt the juice in my mouth cuz it tasted so good...but when I vaped it...whoa, gross! I look forward to learning my ways, and this helps, thanks!
