Excuse my ignorance, but what's hazardous about peppermint?
Apparently there are some flavors that have the possibility of catching fire according to the message from tfa. So they can only ship these certain flavors via ground. To get the full skinny go to the tfa website and read all about it.

I wouldn't mind finding some 8-10ml glass bottles. For recipe samples I use plastic and neither the flavors fully come out in washing or I am just using so many. I only make 5ml, but I like to shake the juice.

Oh, I made the Sucker Punch clone from several pages back. Dragonfruit is a little bit different that the average fruit. The creams settle it a bit. Thanks for posting it.

I wouldn't bother going any smaller then these 15ml glass bottles with polycone caps. I make both 10ml and 20ml samples in them, smaller then this would be difficult to work with.

Must be high in alcohol. Glad I don't like menthol in my vape.

I am with you on that. Never understood the appeal. I tried them a couple of times but to me its like vicks vapor rub. If anything, I would use a minty type like spearmint, or if I want cool feeling like ice cream I would use koolada. Just a touch tho.

Ground shipping used to be the cheapest and slowest option, must be some kind of hazmat fee.

Someone must have been vaping peppermint on the launch pad of the SpaceX rocket this morning, check out the video of the Facebook satellite blowing up like a huge 18650 battery in an unvented metal mech mod! :)

I'm not going to bother reading through dozens or pages to find out, but has anyone else encountered TFA's "hazardous material" charge that they're now adding to some flavorings?

I just ordered several flavors. I buy in bulk (120ml) so I only buy from them once every 8-9 months. I selected their Peppermint, got the warning about the charge, but figured a couple of extra dollars wouldn't be any big deal. I was blown away when their Hazardous Material charge was $42 for a single 4oz bottle. Quickly removed that from my cart, that charge was as much as the entire rest of my order.

Guess I'll stick to FA for my Peppermint needs from now on.
I'm pretty sure it's the Ethyl Alcohol that's the culprit. I know several manufacturers, and distributors, no longer ship out of country because of that; but that is the first I heard I've heard interstate.

FWIW: I bought a 30mL of TFA's Peppermint from Wizard 6 weeks ago and didn't get hit w/ any additional charge then.

This is a blurb from the tfa website.
Hazard Symbols on Labels (6/26/2015)
What are these new symbols on my bottles?

The symbols that you will begin seeing on your labels that are diamond shaped and have pictograms of hazards inside them are 'Hazard Symbols.' As of June 1st, 2015 all companies who require a Safety Data Sheet (SDS) with their product, must use hazard symbols, statements, and warnings on the labels that correspond with the information that has always been on the SDS.

The product itself has not changed, but Federal Regulations require us to put this info (which can be found on your SDS) on all products where potential hazards are present. Be mindful that these hazards only apply to the products while in concentrated form. Once the ingredients have been diluted, it is the responsibility of our customers (you) to know the range and safety communicated to customers down the supply chain.

PLEASE NOTE: As the industry is implementing these regulations, there will be kinks, and likely changes to the labels from product to product. Do NOT be alarmed, as we are guaranteeing that the formulas of the flavors will be unaffected. Only the methods and results of the analysis will have changed. If you have further questions regarding this issue, please contact us directly.

The only glass I have seen that small are the glass vials like these: Specialty Bottle
The 2 dram (VC2, VA2) are just shy of 8mL (7.39mL), and the 4 dram (VC4, VA4) are just shy of 15 (14.79mL). And they are the cheapest I have found so far with caps included. Another bonus is no minimum. Buy one if you want! :D

here's two others for comparison:
Glass Vials - Page 1 - wholesalevials
Bottles & Packaging - Screw Caps Vials - True Essence
But they will make you buy by the dozen.

My tablet (nightstand) always has ECF open and last night I "hunt & pecked" my previous message. Actually, I do that a lot. But, I am trying to move away from using so many little plastic bottles just for testing mixtures. I don't mind keeping developed recipes in larger plastic bottles because I change altitude often.

I bookmarked the links and will start narrowing down requirements. I like the eye-dropper idea, too.

Thanks!

I vape a lot of TFA Peppermint plain. It's tastes nothing like menthol.

Menthol is actually an extract of peppermint, but you are right, peppermint tastes nothing like menthol.

I'm just surprised that TFA's peppermint has a high enough alcohol content to require a hazardous material charge, and that the extra charge is more than $40. I predict their sales of that and other high alcohol flavors is going to rapidly drop. (I noticed they have a new version of French Vanilla Deluxe because their old one also has a hazardous material charge)

Fortunately FA makes an excellent Peppermint. I actually like it a little better than TFA, but it's almost twice the price. Well, it used to be twice the price, now it's less than a third of the price.

I don't use peppermint but do use menthol. I enjoy many different types of flavors but my menthol tobacco has been a staple for several years. I used to use silverleaf menthol from puresmoker but when they went out of business I was forced to try to figure out something on my own that would work for me. That led me to this thread and since then I have come to like many flavors that I never thought I would. I just ordered some menthol from BCV and there wasn't an extra fee. I have to think that a big part of the charge is for special shipping. I ran into a similar situation with snus when the PACT act was passed years ago. Suddenly snus couldn't be shipped via USPS and had to be sent via UPS with adult signature required. I'm afraid that vaping supplies might be headed in the same direction. I used to pay $5 for shipping and now if you order from the one US supplier of snus it's around 15-20 for shipping and if you order from Sweden it's 30+.

The last time I ordered TFA flavors from WL I noticed they had V2 versions of some flavors, they were described as non-flammable or something. They don't contain alcohol. Wondered what that was about, I guess it is a response to this hazardous material business.

Yes, I saw that, and yes, it's due to the alcohol in most cases. They've made non-flammable versions of many of their flavors, but not Peppermint.

If i remember right, their peppermint is made with peppermint oil, which would make it difficult to do away with the alcohol.Hopefully maybe they will work on getting a synthetic peppermint though.
