I'm looking for a citrus orange. Maybe even something like Tang if anyone remembers that.
Have you tried TFA's Orange Mandarin yet? I have been using it along with TFA-Orange Cream as a base for a tropical drink type of juice. The recipe is still a work in progress but I like the way to two oranges work together.
In the recipe; I am using Orange Cream at 9% and Orange Mndarin at 1%. I tried bumping the mandarin to 2% and reducing the OC to 9% but that was too orange for me.
And FYI the mandarin does have some ethyl alcohol in it. So it will need some breathing if you don't like harsh.

    Somewhere between here and there
    Thanks for the link kas.

Joel, I think I've tried all of the TFA oranges. I'm going to do a flavor test with the blood orange later. I'll start at 10 and go from there. I just wasn't sure what to add to it to get a citrus type result.

When I first started mixing, and discovered ECF, I tried both of @tc1 's Ecto recipes. He used TFA's Lemon Lime in them and that was WAY over the top citrus for me. Maybe a little of that might give you the citrus note you are looking for.
I have never used it since, so I don't recall clearly, but I don't remember it being particularly lemon-y or lime-y. Just a whole lotta acidic citrus! ;)

I'm old enough to have forgotten all about Tang until I tried FW "Etco Cooler"
You couldn't get a better "Tang" unless you mixed a glass of the original, and then it would be a toss up.
Brought back some warm memories when I first tried it.
I wouldn't say it was a true good orange taste... but is it "Tang" .. you betcha.
Tang was never a true orange either, but with the FW Etco Cooler you have a true Tang.
I used their suggested 15%, and it was perfect.

I used to love tang, actually seen some a few years ago and had to buy it to bring back old memories haha.
I'll have to give the ecto cooler a try at 15%,i have a bottle of it i bought a few years ago,and i think i only mixed it at maybe 8-10% but it didn't do anything for me back then, but i will give it another go at the higher %.

Slots, I'll have to add ecto cooler to my next order. It sounds good. Did you mix anything with it?
Nope, I was just doing a regular solo taste test when I ran into it.
I've mixed up some since then, and I just use it solo ... no other flavors or sweeteners.

Definitely try it higher. FW is known for being a weak flavoring.
They recommend all their flavoring start at 15% ... if your bottle is older, you may even go higher ... 18-20% ?
I don't like using any flavor or recipe that calls for using over 20%, but that's just me.

Yeah,i don't either.I used to make a bunch of Bill's stuff which is mostly 30%,but now,any of them i still use,i cut in half.As my choice in atties and coil resistance has changed,i have had to really cut back on flavor strengths, otherwise they are just to potent.

:p I know ... I choked when I read the %'s in his recipes.
I tried just mixing up the flavors alone, nothing else, and then adding that as my flavoring, but, :nah:.
We also bumped heads about "steeping".
Too me, unless I make a fresh juice to vape for the day, they are going to sit and steep anyway, which is going to change them .. at least it does for me.
Also, making a juice for the day won't work for me, because I vape 9 different flavors in 9 different mods strategically placed around the house where I spend most of my time.
Those flavors change again when refills are needed.... yeah, I like variety ... favorites yes, but no ADV's for me.
So I have a lot of small batches of flavors mixed that can't help but "sit" for a while.
Bill also didn't care for tobacco's, but I haven't found one yet that didn't need steep time to taste it's best.

BTY, I do like using some FW flavorings in simple recipes (not solo), like Yellow Cake, Biscotti, Bavarian Cream, and the Whipped and Sweet Creams
but, all in all, I probably have more TFA than any other flavoring.

Does TFA have an overall flavor use percentage?

No,the percentage for Tfa is all over the range haha. Some are fairly weak and need to be used around 10-12%,and others are very strong even at 2%.There is a chart posted here somewhere that shows pretty good starting points for most of the Tfa flavors though.

This is the latest list I could find ....but just use it as a starting point, and make small 3ml tests.
You can play with the test sample by adding too, or diluting to find your sweet spot.
Like b.m. says ... all over the board  Just depend how good your taste buds are !
    Enjoy

    I'm here, when I'm here
Anybody have any suggestions for the Beetlejuice flavor?

I saw this somewhere (can't remember. With age comes memory loss. :D ) and I know, they're not TFA flavors. Perhaps you could find the equivalents??

Can someone validate these %'s for me, they seem out of whack. Perhaps I have a bad batch.
This is the latest list I could find ....but just use it as a starting point, and make small 3ml tests.
Honey Flavor 1-5% - Seems high to me
    Pineapple Flavor 15% (authentic flavor w/5% EM) - I don't use this over 4%
    Ripe Banana Flavor 8-20% - I don't use this over 3%

Strawberry Ripe 15% - I can't taste this at all, but have only used it at max 6%
Someone could add Guava 2% max.

I don't know where that came from, but I'd be willing to create a spreadsheet for the dropbox with all the current TFA flavors, with 'user-id' along the top row so that we could all put in our 'average %' just off the top of our heads. Gimme a 'hell yeah' if you'd like, or just 'like' this post.

I'm not sure where that list originated,it has been floating around for several years,so it doesn't have a lot of the newer flavors on it,and some of those could have been reformulated since it was created, possibly making them stronger or weaker.
I will say though, that list is just a general starting point for each flavor as a solo flavor.Whoever came up with it may have had some really screwy taste buds though,as some of them will blow you out of the water at those % haha, but i have found several of them seem to work really well pretty close to those numbers.

I would love to see a new up-to-date version that was a little closer to reality

Right .... It originally started "way back when".
Everyone just added their own "suggestion" as it grew, but until now, it's all we've had :(

Yeah, and even now with all the info out there,it still really difficult to come up with an accurate chart because so many people have such differing tastes.I may think a certain flavor is great at 10%,while someone else can only tolerate that same flavor at 2%.It is nice to get an idea on them though,i sometimes look at that chart, and cut it in half for a starting point,or just go safe and start around 5% haha.
