Sad to say I got a 30 ml bottle of TFA Grape juice from RTS Vapes and it smelled just like finger nail polish remover. My first order from them was 10 ml of TFA grape juice and it was wonderful. The second order was Horrible. It tasted just like finger nail polish remover also. Contacted RTS Vapes and I got this response:

Candi,
The flavor you ordered, Grape Juice, is actually one of my favorite flavors.
The bad thing about these flavors is that ones opinion on taste is so subjective that what one person likes another person may think is disgusting.
Due to this we do not offer any refunds on our flavors.
If it is just a flavor you do not like I would just hold on to it and maybe one day you will want to try it again or use it as an additive in another flavor recipe.
Thank you for your patience,
Alex

So sad as grape is one of my all time favorites also.

Loranns Grape is Black and Smells terrific in their little bottle it comes in, but mix it up and vape it and it turns into something completely unvapable. Poured it out also.

Did you tell them in reply that you're 10ml was great and as expected, but the 30ml was terrible and not the same at all compared to the 10ml as it should have been?

If not, I'd reply and try to convey that message. I understand that response, but taste in something you know you like isnt's going to differ in a 10ml bottle vs a 30ml bottle, unless there is an issue (Bad batch, spoiled @ age/heat/contaminate)

Any opinions on their 'Vanilla Cupcake'? I've tried it at the recommended 20% and really didn't taste much of anything. I'm using it up by adding it to other mixes but am not sure it really accomplishes a whole lot.

Anyone tried the 'Pumpkin Spice'??

It's a nice mixer I think, I've used it plenty at 3-6%. I did try it once or twice at 10-20% with frosting and without, and it was very bland and dry like that. It might be OK as a dressed up standalone though, but I'm not sure what's going to get it there, sorry :(

Save and use as a mixer, or a stand-in vanilla.

Any starting point recommendations for Coconut Candy, Cheesecake Graham Crust, and RY4 Type-1? I'd love a cheesecake recipe using the graham crust flavor. I can't play around too much with combos until I get more bottles- I'm down to just 2 empties!

I can recommend a starting point for gingerbread @ 5%. Very nutmeg-y!

I've used the Graham cracker cheesecake @5-7% along with everything from lie lime to raspberry and blueberry so far, usually sweetening to taste. Left to steep, the complexities should come through more.

On the Coconut Candy I would go low at 5%, the first time I mixed it I made the mistake of going 15% and it taste like wax, I cut it down on a suggestion of another ECF member and it was awesome

I was also given the same sort of reply from RTS vapes.. I was getting 5ml samples of coconut, which were ok..as soon as I order the 30ml bottles...there was no smell of coconut whats so ever..sorry no refund..also maybe its just me..im now getting my flavours from a local vendor in Oz...and im finding the 5 to 10 ml bottles are ok...but 30mls seem very weak in smell and flavour...anyone else think this ?

Sounds like the 30ml bottles sit around far too long! They should be aware of the stock in/out dates, and they (all vendors) know that flavoring eventually goes bad by sitting around. Normally that takes a long time, like a year or so, but I'm sure some flavors spoil quicker than others.

From what I've read, maybe even at the TFA site too, is that when a flavor is bad is smells like a lot of alc and not much of the flavoring aroma is left anymore. They can also smell badly too, or no smell, but I think a majority will smell more and more like alc as they loose their potency, and then of course flavor levels drop off as that happens too.

I had a similar experience with GoodProphets and a 30ml of TFA during one of their sales, but I didn't realize that was the issue until a month or more later, so I didn't even try to contact them. It was either that, bad flavoring due to age, or they cut it with alc, not sure, but it was too late to even try to ask for a replacement by the time I realized the issue.

Im only going to order up to 10ml bottles now, its happen to many times with 30ml bots...I thought I was saving wth buying 30mls,,in the long run, wasting money...as far as rts vapes comment...well they lost me as a customer..:glare:

I got a 15ml from TFA directly and it was OK, and I know many others have purchased direct too and it was fine.

So I think that's the best way to be sure you get fresh TFA! It's not the cheapest though, but if you are getting large bottles then I think it's worth the little bit extra to get it from the source so if there is an issue they'll take care of it for you. They are well known for helping too if there's any issues, so you wont have to worry about a reply like you received before!

thanks good point...I don't like to point fingers, but I know for a fact my vendor here in oz is...getting there flavours from rts vapes..
so I agree direct from TFA is a better idea...trouble being shipping cost to oz...is high...il have to do the maths...check it out..

I hear that some flavors dont like sun light & ruin the taste & or smell completely, I have found after sitting in the light for only a few days it has a nasty smell, I have not tracked down the problem! but thinking if a sweetener is added its possible maybe also.

Another reason I dont like ordering from some vendors. I would rather make my own at these times, then I cant blame anyone but me ;)
I would order only from venders that make my fresh e-juice for me only when the order is placed not weeks before!

That's true too Ghenghis, and I should have mentioned that, thanks for pointing it out!

I think I neglected to because I assumed we all keep our stuff out of light as much as possible anyway. I'll have to remember not to assume so much all the time :) :thumb:

Heat can do damage too, so store your flavorings and juices at a cool/avg room temp (68-72F) or cooler if possible.
