I buy TFA flavorings only from the source.. Perfumers Apprentice. I've heard the story about flavorings varying when purchased from other companies. TPA always tastes and smells the same to me.
I assume another company might have some a batch too long.. or try to cut it.

I kept smelling the two different bottles. The 30ml smells sweet with tart and a little sourness. The 120ml is a very very familiar smell and I tasted that flavor before, and it finally hit me its raspberry I think they might have tagged the bottle wrong.

Thanks for the great thread, some of the problems I think I was having earlier with my DIY attempts (years ago) was not knowing where to start from. I mixed a small 6ml sample batch with the Honydew melon at 8% 60/40 pg/vg. Flavor is good, a little artificial, but otherwise spot on. It has a lingering alcohol taste on the exhale, so hopefully a little steeping will get rid of that. Next order to TFA will definitely include some vanilla bean... Gonna try and replicate a Melona bar.

Quick question on mixing though... when combining two flavors do you guys (and gals) basically cut the percentage of flavorings in half (say if you were going for a 50/50 mix of flavors) or rather adjust the recipe according to which flavors are more dominant (though it seems like this was done with the initial test)?

Edit: apologies if this was answered earlier in the thread, if so could you tell me where (about) to start... I don't mind searching through 10-20 posts.

Same here.

Additionally, I don't buy 120ml any more because it lasts to long. Every time you open the bottle it gets exposed to air which is bad for the flavors. So now I get my samples from WL(cheaper) and get my 30ml bottles from TFA. In fact might even go down to 15ml. Just a thought.

Ethyl Malto (I already use this just want more)
Acetyl Pyrazine 5% (PG)

is there any more molecules people have tried and suggest I purchase?

This was quite a few pages back, but did we ever determine the difference between the TFA bought from WL and straight from TFA? IIRC, WL had the same stuff for half price.

I buy both from WL (when wanting to try a new flavor) and The Perfumers Apprentice (when buying in bulk) and I believe the flavorings to be the same. IE, WL doesn't cut or dilute the flavorings.

Do think the TFA flavors from vendors other than TPA/TFA are watered down? I tried making some juice recipes that are listed in the forum that have the flavor percentages at 20%, so I started at 10% (weak flavor), then did some math to make it a perfect 15% flavor mix (still too weak), and finally 20% (again weak flavor).
The vendor was one stop diy

It would be easy enough to find out. Order the same flavor directly from TFA, make a mix with each using the same percentage and compare.

I doubt a reputable vendor like One Stop DIY Shop would dilute their repackaged concentrates. It would be way too easy for customers to call BS on them.

I should have toasted almond arriving today-- the list on this thread says 15%, on another thread several users of toasted almond that I respect on ECF said after 2% you get a burnt taste.

I will mix up some 2% and amend the list if it turns out well to reflect the lower %
