I'm not sure what other people do, but I make small 5ml bottles of individual flavors at 10% with a 70/30 PG/VG mix in my preferred nicotine level (9mg/ml) and then experiment mixing different base flavors. I start dripping in an atomizer and then make small batches to try to figure out the flavor mix. Sometimes I try combinations that I think will go together or I'll try to copy my favorite vendor flavors.
...

I've been doing it this way since I started DIY. Stumbled upon it by mistake--tested new flavor but didn't fully clean atty first. Now, I do this regularly, rather than try to mix up a single custom flavor. When I'm in the mood for a 'peach tobacco', I'll drip 1 drop peach, 5 drops tobacco (TA), vape, repeat until I'm no longer in the mood for 'peach tobacco'. Works with 'peach tea', or pretty much any other combination you'd care to try (glassmanoak might try this method with raspberry and every other juice in his collection). When a combo does fail, I rinse the atty, and move on to the next combo. Since I'm only working with a few drops at a time, I minimize wasted juice.

Also keep in mind, the mix I vape will not be fully steeped, but since each individual flavor was steeped, it does help.

I just received an order of TFA flavorings from Wizard. The bottles in which I mix my flavors each contain 8ml of 50% VG, 50% PG. I mixed them roughly according to your chart. I'll let them steep a few days, and see what I think.

Absinthe I mixed 1:8, then with a nearly finished bottle of MBV the same. Hibiscus I will see how close it is to Celestial Seasons' Red Zinger (.1:8). I got Rose and Lemon-Lime because those are in Red Zinger. Free sample was Juicy Fruit bubblegum (1:8). Lemon-Lime (.5:8). Rose Candy is not on your list, so used 1:8, about what you suggest, because of your recommendation for Violet Candy, which I also got. Also mixed Black Cherry (1:8), my free sample from when I got Earl Gray Tea, which I use copiously.

Didn't report this on Wizard thread, because it is all about nic.

I just ordered a bunch of TFA flavors and so would you recommend the higher range of %'s for all of the flavors when using mostly vg?

I wouldn't go with the higher percentages it will most likely

I am crossing my fingers that my vape-mail shows up tomorrow like the tracking number says it should. I have 40 something concentrates coming from the TFA and I am so geeked to get mixing. This thread has been amazing I read all 90 some pages in a day... it was like a great book that I couldn't put down. Well wish me luck in taking the plunge into DIY with both feet. No dipping of the toe and testing the water for this girl... all or nothing. ***side note*** no analog cyanide stick for me in 5 weeks.... :D

If you have questions or concerns ask away when your supplies arrive, this thread and ECF in general is a great group of folks to gain knowledge from

TFA Key Lime - Not what I expected, tastes like Life Savors candy, too artificial. Taste when vaped is better than the smell, though. May be better in a mix. Haven't tried Pineapple yet but it has that same artificial candy smell in the bottle.

Is it just me, or do many of these fruit flavors seem to have this candy chemical taste? I use percentages always on the low end or lower than the lowest.

Same with flavors like coffee, tobacco, hazelnut, coconut - the "non fruit" flavors I call them, they all seem to have some underlying chemical-taste similarity, yet different than the fruit ones. I was hoping for flavors a little more distinct.

Maybe it's all in the persons tastes or maybe the devices but one of my main vapes currently is TFA Key Lime 15% / 28% PG / 57% VG / 18mg/ml nic (base is wizard labs 100% PG 6% nic).
But it does taste chemical to me freshly mixed. I steep for 1 hour ultrasonic in hot water shaking every 10 minutes or so and the taste mellows.

Are you using them as single flavor mixes or in a mix of flavors? Some tfa flavors work well as stand alone and some require a mix, A top and bottom flavor note

Tucson, it's a dry heat
I only use Key Lime with Cheesecake (Graham Cracker Crust) and Whipped Cream - then it tastes like the dessert - not like a real key lime, but yummy.

I couldn't wait. Hibiscus was present at the recommended level, but, wanting a "knock your sox off" flavor, I increased to 1:8, or 12%. I just don't think I will be able to replicate Zinger, so I will have to stay with MBV for a few flavors. I am enjoying all of them, especially the hibiscus, rose, and violet. I'm going to try dripping some of them with the tea, and see what is best. I think I am going to prefer 1:8 for all flavors. Even the Juicy Fruit, was present at .5:8, but more enjoyable at 1:8.

There are times when I want delicacy, and times when I prefer something that will knock my sox off.
