I'm trying to figure out what goes with Crunch Berries. Or what would make a Cap'n Crunch flavor. It's been so long since I've had cereal. I'm amazed I remembered Crunch Berries.
Peanut butter?

Does RY4 asian need to steep?

I just mixed it at 8% flavoring and it smells and taste very bitter. I don't detect any caramel, vanilla, or tobacco. Just an odd bitterness. I'm rather dissapointed. I was imagining tobacco with sweet caramel. :(
I didn't like it either.

Hi all !

Very new to DIY. A good friend here on the forums (Bill's Majic Vapor) talked me into getting into this. He sent me the E Juice Me Up
calculator along with a bunch of recipies and directed me to TFA. I received my 40 flavors last week and the rest of what I needed to get started from Myfreedomsmokes.

I gotta say, this is without a doubt the most fun, the most satisfying thing Ive ever done when it comes to vaping.

So far, so good. Amost everthing I mix is great. In fact, its better than anything that comes from MBV. In fact, I was so discusted with a recent order of 12 different "top selling juices" from that site that I got interested in this DIY.

So far, my mixes have been very simple, but all so very good. These TFA flavors seem to be the ticket.

I wanted to say that I did go up the street and bought a couple of Loranns flavors from Hobby Lobby and I must say the the "potentcy" of the flavors I bought there were just not near that of the TFA.... Today I made a new order from TFA for the same flavors I got from Hobby Lobby.

Anyway.. just wanted to share while I'm still under the "Ether" of my newest Vaping hobby.

Oy! I just started DIY because Bill had sent me a few samples of stuff he made. Got about 11 TFA flavors to tinker with, and also using the ejuicemeup calc. Hope I'm actually measuring properly, since the first one I made (2ml 40pg/60vg 12mg English Toffee, nic base 48mg) seemed off after making it, but better a day or two laters. Perhaps I just need to read more and steep more.

As a rule, all tobaccos flavors need steep time, as much as 4 weeks in some cases. I've not tried the Asian RY4, but I have the double and regular. Both need at least 2 weeks to lose that bitterness, and I've found they are best after 4 weeks

Sent from somewhere on planet Earth.

I havent dabbled in those flavors yet, though Ive bought some. Ive been doing fruits and bubble gums so far that need no steeping. I will be mixing the more complex flavors soon.

I just needed some "instant gradification" first before I started to do some "real" dabbling.

Bill sent me some samplers also.......which got me interested in doing this.

This is a great thread. Thank you for the great info. [Edit - sorry, it is Lorann root beer not TFA]. I do use a lot of TFA flavored and getting the right mix isn't always easy. I like to use syringes to measure rather then droppers since every dropper measures differently I figure the ml syringes would give a more accurate measurement.

This is a great thread. Thank you for the great info. I've been trying to work with the TFA root beer and was looking through the list and threads to find out if anyone else has used this flavor. I made the mistake of assuming that root beer is root beer and got a 30ml bottle. So far NO BUENO on any percentage from 1-20%. I haven't tried to dilute this bc I don't want to waist anymore of my base on it, but if somebody knows how to make this flavor vapable I would give another try.

I would be interested in some advice on rootbeer or sassafras myself....

I edited my original post because I bought lorann root beer not TFA. I recommend researching the treads and asking like we are. I was completely baffled by the vast difference in taste between companies. Dilution might be the key but idk at the moment.

Ya got me, I couldn't get it to work for me either.
I really wanted a frosty root beer and failed.
Smells a little like it but certainly doesn't taste like it.
I tried adding Bavarian Cream, Vanilla Swirl, Vanilla Cupcake, French Vanilla, and also Champagne. (individually then mixed some of those concoctions together)
I didn't have anything else that remotely made me think it would work so I gave up.

I tried a Cherry Cola yesterday and it is my new ADV (awful disgusting vape) heehee

IME, good DIY Colas are so hard to find. I wish I could successfully make my own, but for now I'm stuck with Ahlusion's Cherry Cola.

Here's a recipe

Hangsen Red Cola 5%
Hangsen Cherry 2%

Whoops, I forgot I was in the TFA Thread please disregard.

The only flavoring I've been able to get to work for me is Watkins Root Beer from the grocery store. IDK why, but it has been an awesome Vape. I would like to be able to use TFA root beer if anyone knows how to make it vapable.
I know this isn't the thread for this, but here's my recipe for RootBeer using Watkins flavoring from Walmart. It has the fizz I'm looking for.

So I am still on a hunt for the perfect sweet tobacco, something like the base of Boba's Bounty, or a nice graham crackery pipe tobacco(I do adore pipe tobacco).

After much praise I decided on Black Honey. I ALSO picked up M-type(for my sister who has been nagging me to make her a good menthol).

Let's hope these work out. :)

MsComptrtchr,

I think I found the missing link in the peanut butter & jelly by accident!
Was dripping some of my less than perfect PB&J last night and dripped another flavor in today and shazam.
It is a local flavoring from R2Scents simply called Snickers.
Dave does sell from his website so you could get it that way.
Don't know what flavors are in it or why it works, but it adds the "Jelly" component rather nicely and leaves that grape & peanut butter aftertaste almost perfectly to my taste.
Dripping back and forth with about 1/4 of the Snickers to my latest trial PB&J seems be the sweet spot.
My ultrasonic died on me, but when I get the percentages figured out from scratch I will let you know.

Interesting - could that be the FlavorWest version of Snickers? I actually have some of that I haven't tried yet. Are you still using the Jolly Rancher grape flavor? When you get it perfected, you'll have to name it - you've put so much work into this flavor, lol!
