Thanks for the heads up! I am definitely interested in new findings related to all things vaping. I haven't been online much lately, but I'll definitely do some research tonight to find and get caught up with the new testing results.

I'm not too fond of the WUW site though when it comes to facts and findings. They're one of many sites who are still misinforming people about ecigs and the dangers related.

I've never liked using Splenda, but still use Sucralose so I will search elsewhere for new related info, thanks again! :)

Sent from the hand not holding my vape ;)

'Glad you're interested in researching!

Honestly, I hadn't checked out anything about that particular website. We'd already reviewed the research data on heat/sucralose. I'd only bookmarked that one since someone else had posted it, and I thought it was a good 'overview of issues' that might inspire folks to look further into the documentation.

Early research on the heat issue apparently wasn't done correctly, and so you'll need to check the more recent research for the 'latest'. Also check out Rahn,A.; Yaylayan,V.A., 2010: Thermal degradation of sucralose and its potential in generating chloropropanols in the presence of glycerol. Food Chemistry8: 1, 56-61.
(we just found this, and haven't yet had time to locate more than the abstract).

Yes indeedy, there's a TON of misinformation out there regarding vaping, and much of it errs on the side of claiming vaping is safe (or just 'safer than smoking')....as if something being 'safer than cigarettes' is somehow risk-free and/or "safe". Maybe it is, maybe it isn't - only time will yield that answer. But since we're all in the position of being the long-term lab rats on this one, we're FAR more interested in the data that shows all the possible risks of vaping, than that which shows 'safer than cigarettes'. Seriously, what ISN'T "safer" than cigarettes? And just being safer than stinkies certainly doesn't equate to "safe".

In the taste research, they don't mention stevia and how it effects flavors after a few days. Is anyone aware of this research? If so, can you point me in the right direction?

'Can't say fersure why buffaloguy didn't follow up with extensive trials with stevia.. The reason that we haven't, is because (even with one of us having a MAJOR sweet tooth), we've never found a need to add sweetener to any juice we make to get it to be sweet enough to satisfy either one of us. Maybe that's because of our VG/water/saline base or because we don't overflavor. But since we don't need it, we're not gonna spend 'days worth of hours' testing it's effects.

I am new to DIY and would like to make a nice banana nut bread. IS the TFA alone good enough for most people? Is the 5-7 % accurate for most here's taste buds? If anyone is adding to the stand alone flavor please let me know what they are liking.

I have TFA banana nut bread and I think it is great. The 5-7% was low for me but others think it is plenty. I like it much better at 10% but I would start out low and add flavor if it is weak to you. Good luck!

New recipe to add, (not mine tho) and (I didn't see it on the list)

Simple, ready to vape, and light colored.

Buttery Nipple (named after the drink)
16% Butterscotch
8% Irish Cream
FYI: Both have Ethyl Alcohol

Notes:
Basically 2/1 ratio
Strong at this % in my dripper, perfect for clearo's and carto's I think.
Irish Cream is stronger than BS and kinda takes over, (maybe this is intentional).
Clear when freshly mixed and will turn yellow after steeping a few days.
Don't care for the FA version of this, way to dark, (food coloring), bad for us and the coils IMO.

Simple DIY for beginners:
Buy premixed at your desired PG/VG nic
2x15ml Butterscotch (maybe an extra to vape straight up,lol)
1x15ml Irish Cream
1x 50ml empty bottle (USplastics)
Dump all into big bottle, shake, shake, shake.
Hot water bath and/or Steep 1 week, (I usually can't wait that long).
Pour back into small bottles for easy use.
Meanwhile, (if you have a TSC), you can get some cheap syringes for better DIY measuring.
Note: some of the flavorings (ripe banana) will melt the rubber thingy inside. (use glass syringe)

Sorry for all the bla, bla, bla.
Excited, this is a cool place, thanks to all the people here with nice recipes, and to PaddyMX for all the work on the lists.

Some use: Liquid Stevia Leaf Extract for sweenener, I use it in my coffee, (Diabetic).
It's a natural sweetener, rather than chemicals altered at the molecular level, (ie. genetically altered).
I'm going to try it in some of my DIY soon.

This was my first success. 10% banana nut bread. I wanted something to vape right away. But I didn't take a chance and put in the (UC)ultrasonic cleaner for 2 hours over 2 day period. I already had the UC from other hobbies so why not.

My first impression of the 10% banana nut bread was not good. So I put it away for another day or two. Now I find it very vapable. It is not strong, not sweet, missing something, but I am happy to have a success. :D

I need to make more LOL so if you have any pointers to tweak would be good. I was thinking of adding a drop of walnut or something?

I use the Stevia and it works pretty good for me. 1 drop per 5 mL

Did anyone have experience of buying glycerine from this vendor? It is not a Pharma grade though, but USP and it priced well in their bulk section. Thanks!

no I haven't but I got my vg and pg here prices were great and they came with copies of the certification sheets upon request. The guy I talked to seemed to know a little about using it for this purpose and in fact said he suspected some vendors were buying from him and others like him. USP kosher and food grade. if your interested. I know who the vendor is and what the site is about might put some off.

propylene glycol | Duda Diesel Alternative Energy, Chemicals & Industrial Supply Store 1 gallon $23.95
vegetable glycerine | Duda Diesel Alternative Energy, Chemicals & Industrial Supply Store 1 gallon $18.95

BTW I believe the inhibited PG would be bad. I think it has corrosion inhibitors in it which would probably taste bad and do all sorts of nasty things to you lol

Hope it helps
