I think I am starting to get the hang of this mixing my own eJuice process. Stumbled on this one accidentally while trying to see if I can make a sweet cherry crumble but I really like this one and I came up with the perfect name for it. I bring you the almost all TFA Dragon's Breath eJuice.

Dragon's Breath.

(10 ml Bottle)

20/80 PG/VG (I love high VG juice)
100% VG Nic 3mg/ml (trying to cut my nic down from 6mg/ml)
Maraschino Cherry (TFA): 7%
Caramel(DIYFlavorShack): 3%
Apple Pie (TFA): 2%
Cinnamon (TFA): 3%
10 Drops of Sweetness Sweetner (DIYFlavorShack) only one I know of that is not EM.

This stuff is awesome not only makes you look like a Dragon but if I was a Dragon this is how I would imagine my breath would taste. Stuff is Epic awesome.

Actually, it's very flattering, and I'm happy that anyone pays attention! I just like good juice, and just want to spread the word. If I can help, then great, makes me happy to do so. :D

What I'm really enjoying about this thread over the last three months is how helpful everyone is, and how lurkers and participants, alike, are not afraid to post questions, and how those questions are handled so generously by all. I like it and find it to be quite rare. Good for everyone! :toast:

I have found the maraschino cherry to be very, very strong, even at 1%, so I was surprised when you posted this at 7%. So, I have to ask, what happens to the cherry? Is the caramel and super strong cinnamon at 3% somehow, working magic here, somehow? So, what does this juice actually taste like? Most curious. :toast:

Btw, TFA makes a good Sweetener and several caramels, as well, so this could be made with all TFA flavorings.

I also made his Dutch Apple Pie ala Mode, but I made some bad substitutions. You see, I didn't realize there was plain butter, and got movie theater butter instead... Hasn't turned out as planned, the apple mysteriously vanished. Also had very little of my 100 drops, so maybe it needs some time. Who knows?

It's just "Strawberry Flavor". I've been trying to be careful about typing exactly what the label says, because I know lots of flavors come in varieties. I accidentally got Raspberry (Sweet) when I thought I was working with Raspberry. I had no idea there were even two raspberries! Hopefully I'll avoid getting Butter (Movie Theater) instead of Butter in the future :D
You mentioned it twice and no one else chimed in so...
https://shop.perfumersapprentice.com/p-6921-butter-flavor.aspx
If you do a search on TFA site the only butter is this and butterscotch. As far as I know plain butter and butter(movie theater type) are all in the same.

With that said, You said while making the Dutch Apple Pie you made some "bad substitutions" what else besides this did you substitute for a better understanding on what may have gone wrong with the recipe.

Thank you for pointing that out! It looks like I may have bought the Butter that was called for. Here's the Butter I ordered, from Wizard Labs:
Butter (Movie Theater) Flavor (08ml TFA)

They have it marked as a (Movie Theater) variety, but maybe this name is caused by TFA's description, "This is a liquid butter flavor similar to movie popcorn butter. "

As far as the substitutions I made, I assumed above that I had used the wrong butter, but now this is looking less like the case. My other substitution was, instead of 0.5% cinnamon, I used 1% Cinnamon Danish, as I didn't have any Cinnamon. So I used more than called for, of a different flavor.

The end result wasn't bad, but the apple was very hard to detect. Maybe that's by design, I'm not sure :) Coming from making only fruit mixes though, I was just expecting a bit more apple, and I assumed I'd buried it somehow with my particular mix. As it ages, it is getting better for me. I'll probably try again without the Cinnamon Danish, and see what happens.

Being that TFA only shows one butter I believe it's safe to say they are the same. :D
Some have posted that the Apple really pops in this recipe. I'm at a loss of words because the Apple is a pretty weak flavor for the most part and I don't really detect it either. IMO I don't see the 1% Cinnamon Danish noticeably altering the recipe but curious of your findings. If you do get a Cinnamon I recommend starting @ .25% or less as .5% in my findings dominates the recipe.

I think you're right, I just had a major facepalm moment when I realized that TFA sells "Butter" and my label didn't match. I'm less worried now!

I also found Apple to be a little weak in general, it was one of the few new flavors I tasted by itself. Even at 15%, it was a real tease. I also received a little vial of Green Apple that I have yet to try. It smells a bit more candy-like, but I'm wondering what would happen using 8% Apple and 4% Green Apple, instead of 12% Apple.

I have no idea how Green Apple would interact with Apple, but I can't help but wonder if it would make it a little more pronounced. I would be afraid it might take things in the candy direction, or overpower the standard Apple. These are musings for another day though, as I've made about 60ml of juice this morning (4 different recipes), and should probably slow down a bit :)

I'm experiencing juice Nirvana. Never have I had more that 50ml on hand, and when I did, it was going to have to last several weeks!

question: how does cotton candy compare to EM crystals dissolved in pg?

I know they are comparable in taste but what about flavor strength? I got my EM crystals and dissolved 1/4 teaspoon in 10ml PG, as suggested, but really have no frame of reference for comparison to the TFA cotton candy flavor concentrate.

Does anyone have any info on this?

The regular cotton candy, not the circus that is different, but the plain cotton candy flavor is just 10% em in pg,so what you have should be really close to that 10% solutionI did the same,i got enough crystals to make tons of the solution,so no need to buy the pre mixed, plus it's alot cheaper that way..

Dutch Apple Pie ala mode is not a fruit vape, nor an apple vape, nor a strong apple vape, and that is the case by design. It's a pie, but not just a pie, a pie with ice cream, and not just any pie but a dutch apple pie. This is a very complex flavoring, just like the dessert. If you are expecting an apple vape, this is not an apple vape....it's dutch apple pie ala mode (ice cream).

So, you should taste the apple as one of several flavorings including cinnamon, sugar, vanilla, cream, pie/graham cracker, just like a real dutch apple pie. If the apple were to be very dominant, that wouldn't taste like the pie. I think a lot of times, a particular juice may taste apple weak, like this example, but because you may want a stronger apple, and not a complex pie flavoring, perhaps this is not the flavoring you are looking for. There are plenty of great apple recipes out there. A good candy apple recipe is:

Apple - 6%
Candy Apple - 6%
Gummy Candy - 3%
Cotton Candy - 4%
Sweetener - 3%

This recipe has a very strong apple component and is very good, imho. Maybe try it as one of several good strong apple combos. I think I posted a caramel apple recipe previously, and another candy apple recipe, as I recall. There are several ways to make this one.

This is one of my signature juice and this one juice launched an entire line of juices once upon a time. Hope you like it. The cinnamon Danish at 1% won't work, since the cinnamon is about 20 times stronger than cinnamon Danish. Just look at the base mix on TFA on the ingredients, It's at least 20 times stronger, not just twice as strong. you could use cinnamon spice at 1% and probably be just fine. Good luck! :D

It is actually quite interesting of a flavor and very complex on the taste buds as the liquid heats up on the coil it changes slightly. I am not sure how this will hold up over a few days yet we will find out but let me try to explain it.

When you vape this you get a strong spicy cinnamon flavor obviously at 3% it has a really nice throat hit almost like a fireball candy type effect. Right under this you get the strong cherry undertone that almost mixes with the cinnamon almost freshening it up. Then you get you get a subtle but noticeable crust type flavor with just a hint of caramel sweetness added in.

I think what is happening here is that the caramel and apple pie are adding a tone that reminds me of a apple dumpling which rides under the bite of the cinnamon with a the cherry riding in between. Super complex even to explain wow.

As the atty and coil heats up the apple dumpling like flavor seems to enhance while the cinnamon and cherry meld right into it but still retains the nice spicy fireball candy like nip.

Really cool. I bet if I removed the cherry drop the cinnamon to 1% and bring up the apple pie and leave the caramel the same I might actually get a apple dumpling not sure yet did not try that might be a thought to try.

Edit:
Decided to give the above a try. I think it is really close to a apple dumpling if only I had a tad of butter flavoring I think it might be right on the money wish I put some of that in my recent order. If someone has the flavors any caramel should do that is just what I have atm would love some opinions on how to tweak it.

Apple Dumpling

(10 ml bottle)
20/80 PG/VG
100% VG Nic 3mg/ml
Apple Pie (TFA): 12%
Caramel (DIYFlavorShack): 3%
Cinnamon (TFA): 0.5%

I think I ordered too much stuff at once and i got a bit overwhelmed. I got all of bills suggested glassware plus syringes and bottles and other glass, 48 flavors some in 4oz and some in 15ml sizes plus 2L nic and 500ml of vg and 500 of pg. I'm a tiny bit obsessive when i start a new project or hobby ;) BUT Thanx to all in this thread, but especially Bill, i organized all my stuff and proceeded to make Bill's "fire and ice". What a success! That was so much fun even just making the 100 drop was just exciting and now I'm feeling more OK with the overload of stuff!

Thank you all!

Thanks Mark. Very nice of you to say, and congrats on the new juice and gear. You sound like me on the OCD side of things. :D

You know, if you ever want some inspiration, go to Cold Stone Creamery. If you have one near you, or you check it out online, you can see that they make ice cream concoctions the very same way we make juices, and often use the very same flavorings. I just got home from Cold Stones, and I ordered a couple of extra flavorings that I'll work on this week. One was a cake batter, yellow cake, fruit mix that sounded fantastic, the other was an apple pie with caramel. I also just drank an oreo cookie shake with double oreos and fudge. Ok, it was good, and, I am inspired. Two cents....:D :vapor: :toast:

Yes, my apologies Bill - I was in no way implying that your signature juice wasn't up to par. I was just expecting something else! You see, even though I live near enough to Pennsylvania, Dutch desserts haven't found their way to my plate very often, and never a Dutch apple pie. I think your juice has tempted me to go out and find a solid pie version of your juice, in fact - I just hope the pie lives up to it!

I'm just a poor fruit vaper ham-handedly bumbling into the world of desserts :p

You have inspired me to attempt to juice up my favorite sweet breakfast, reserved for select weekends only. French toast with strawberries and whipped cream! I've got some goodies I'll be playing with, and a list of 7 potential flavors have come to mind. This will be my first attempt to actually mimic a food, and I'll have an idea of all the work that goes into your recipes!
