The recipe was a fail(as of now). It has that classic too-much-flavor taste when fresh mixed. I'll report back after it has steeped for a bit.

I tested Turkish tobacco TFA at 5% on its own and I gotta say, at first the smell of the flavor made me a bit hesitant but after vaping it I can't get enough. First puff I thought hmmm, that's interesting. It is very hard to describe. It is grassy and aromatic. I almost want to say spicy, but it's not. It is a tad sweet, but not much. It may pair well with oak flavor or something similar. It is defiantly not something I'd pair with my usual additives like vanilla.

I'm a fan of this one. I also like the Virginia fire cured tobacco. I'm not a fan of 555 though.

(PS. I mixed the Turkish Tobacco at 5% 20mg 60/40 with a 1mL syringe with a 14g needle tip with all of my bases at room temperature except for the nicotine which is PG based)

The few turkish vapes I've tried, I thought did taste quite spicy; almost cinnamon, almost clove, but not quite either. Maybe peppery... with a very subtle sweetness...?

what does everyone use for taste testing your recipes ? I have a few Iclear16's that I rewick with cotton.....and some old EVODS that I just change cotton in. I wNt to get the same flavor that I will when I make a bigge batch.

I have a little Igo-S I bought just for that purpose. It's not an RDA anyone would use just for regular vaping, there's no "well" at all, but it's very quick to re-wick, and the tiny atomizer chamber provides the tight airflow I prefer, and very good flavor.

I'm also about to acquire a Magma clone, but I'm thinking I'll save that one for my delish Strawberries and Cream that gunks the heck out of my kayfuns. :D

I usually just throw it in my Kayfun 4 or Magma clones.. They'll definitely let me know if my mixes are OK or not..

Andria have you looked at the 1:1 Veritas at FT. I like that I can adjust my air flow to what I want depending on the juice I'm vaping. But anyways, the Magma does get a lot of rave reviews and definitely easier to build on. Vape on. :vapor:

If i have a 8ml Vile of EM Crystals how would I go about Diluting that down into a 10% sweetener base? Any help would be appreciated!

If you have measuring spoons, measure a 1/4 teaspoon and add to 10ml of pg,better yet if you have a small scale weigh out 1 gram of em and mix it to 10ml of pg.After adding both, sit the bottle in a cup of hot water for a few minutes, then shake the crap out of it haha.

Playing with this recipe...based on what I've read here in this thread.

I have reduced the overall percentages as I lung hit a .8 ohm RSBT tank and at the 12/12 ratios it was just too much. This is getting pretty close to what I'm looking for but needs a little work yet. It DOES go good with my coffee this morning though ;)

Chocolate Cream

Sweet Cream 6%
Vanilla Swirl 1%
Double Chocolate 5%
Milk Chocolate 2%
Sweetner 2%

May bump things up some yet but I wanna vape a few mls before making any changes. I did the heat in scalding hot tap water and shook the heck out of it last night and let it sit overnight.

Did I mention you guys (and gals) rock?!

A lot of material here. Ok, first my Pralines and Cream Recipe:

Hazelnut Praline - 6%
Vanilla Custard - 5%
Bavarian Cream - 5%
Sweetener - 4%

So, a 20% mix and a family favorite. Either you like hazelnut, or you don't, seems to be the consensus. If you do, you will probably like this. Very good, very vapeable, and an easy recipe, with ingredients we commonly use for many recipes, other than the hazelnut praline mix. Perhaps if I knew how to make praline flavor, I would make this with other bases, but I don't.....yet. Anybody know? The other additions make this one pop. Great flavor. I like my creams, as you know!

I started off a long time ago on tobaccos, and did mainly make single ingredient mixes. I liked Desert Ship, a Turkish tobacco, and the missus vaped that for 6 months. I discovered pastries and switched to them pretty early so never pursued them. In my experience, though, I did purchase the tobacco flavoring book from TFA and about 20 different flavoring chemicals....all types, from TFA. I bought the KIT. I was surprised to learn that most Tobacco flavorings are a mixture of two or more fruit flavorings. Yes, you heard that right. Not tobacco abstracts, which we call NET's, of course, but the mixed flavorings. That fact interested me a lot, because it makes us understand that mixing flavors may result in completely new flavors, unrelated to where they started. I was intrigued. I don't work with tobacco's any longer, so I can't throw out some good recipes, but I can tell you that I had good luck with My Freedom Smokes Desert ship at about 5 - 6% flavoring. I also made the Marlboro light flavor from their USA light. Both were good. I did not pursue tobacco's, so this is all I learned.

Regarding TFA Apple Pie, much better with regular old TFA Apple and TFA Pie crust. Then add the nuanced flavors, i.e., whipped cream, graham cracker, sweeteners, creams, vanillas, etc. My earlier recipe is the real deal....probably my best. As I mentioned, the Apple Pie flavoring will not get you to where you want to go, imho, or at least, it wouldn't for me. I couldn't get any percentage to say, "Wow," No wow factor, no juice. It can be used as a mix. Some cereals are very hard to make, because the doughy flavor is hard to achieve. Apple Pie is one flavor, though, that can help here. I usually go for the soggy milk sweet bottom of the bowl flavor with cereals, but you don't have to go that way. You can go for the cereal flavoring without milk, and apple pie is one way to get there. So, my two cents on this.

TYVM Bill for this recipe!!! It has given me a start on a ADV!
I have just recently quit smoking after 40 years of 2 packs a day and have been having a hard time finding something I can vape daily and TASTE. I had been buying the Rolling Stoned RY from MigCig as it was the only thing that I could taste and it was keeping me off regular cigs. I have tried about 30 different recipes I have found on ECF trying to come up with something I could make myself (cheaper) and taste. Unfortunately, they all pretty much taste like just vaping 70%PG/30%VG without any flavors to me. After reading your previous post about how your taste has changed from when you first began I have just kept searching till I got this far in the thread yesterday. I ended up making this:
Hazelnut Praline - 6%
Vanilla Custard - 5%
Bavarian Cream - 5%
Ethyl Maltol 10%PG solution - 4%
RY4 Double - 10%

And, BANG! After an 8 hour steep. I can taste it! And, it is close to the MigCig juice I was buying. Just have to play with it some more to figure out what is missing. But, at least now I have a starting point. Only thing that has me nervous is you also said your taste changed after 6 months. Guess I'll just have to wait and cross that hurdle when I get there???

From all I've read, the magma is far more suited to the tight-airflow, single-coil build I prefer; also, the amgaM by Tobeco is only $18.99 (at eCiggity), which I also like a lot. :D And I'm pretty sure I can get stuff from eCiggity a LOT!!!! faster than from slowtech. Probably. If a) I hold my mouth right, b) there's no Snowpocalypse, and c) no more intrusive fed holidays to give the USPS yet ANOTHER reason to slack off.

Andria

Just checked and the veritas by tobeco is also $18.99 at eciggity, but it's made for a dual coil (yuck) and that airhole is HUGE!!!!!!!! Looks like it would be a lot like my caterpillar -- like trying to "smoke a straw" -- bleah.

Hot water, huh? Nobody mentioned that to me. :D I just let it sit for about 5 days, and shook the crap out of it daily. It FINALLY all dissolved. :thumb:

The 1:1 at FT is 8.xx and tracking with China Post brings the total up to almost 10. Shipping time with tracking is usually about 10 days although my last order was six days from shipping to my door.

I read a lot of reviews on several different attys before going with the Varitas, and the thing that finally tipped the scales was the words 'leak resistant'. It pops up in a lot of the reviews. It is more fiddly to build but a single coil build is easy enough, and the air flow is easy to adjust from none to too much for me.

But anyways, and just to add to the confusion, have you looked at the Rogue? Top air flow should be very leak resistant and flavor is reported to be top notch. :D

Here's wishing you the best of luck in what ever you decide. :vapor:

You'll love the Magma then! I do 1.2-1.5 ohm single coils on it with the middle airhole and that thing delivers and then some!

Hi TFA thread, it's been a while for me!

I just wanted to pop in and share what I've been vaping for a few weeks now. It's the latest iteration in my obsession with creating a strawberries and cream type vape. I know many of us have our own, but here's my latest and favorite.

Vanilla Cupcake 10%
Strawberry 5%
Whipped Cream 3%
Vanilla Swirl 3%
Bavarian Cream 2%
Cotton Candy 2%
Total: 25%

I know it reads more like a cupcake/vanilla/bakery vape, so I guess it might be (although those things have never really lit my fire in the past). It's the least percentage of strawberry I've been happy with, and I've been enjoying it because I've vaped a lot of strawberry stuff, and it gets 'sharp' after a while in all of my higher percentage mixes.

Oh, that reminds me! If we do another vape-a-thon, I think it should be cupcakes. Just sayin' :D

P.S., the GF's latest ADV has been the above, minus the strawberry. Mixing for two's never been so easy!

Hmm.. Strawberries and cream. Definitely on my "to do" list for the future!

It wasn't at the top of my list, but now that I have it... OMG, it's like an addictive drug or somethng, I can't put it down! :D I wish I could find a blueberry flavor that's as up-front and in-your-face as Inawera's Shisha Strawberry. I like the flavor of TFA's Blueberry Extra, but it just seems to fade into the background, and I don't understand why. I've got Inawera's Shisha Bilberry, but the flavor isn't right; it's more like "blueberry fruit 'n grain bars".

Mix blueberry xtra with wild. that's where it's at

Did that. 15% blueberry extra, 5% wild blueberry... along with assorted creams and some sweetener. But I can barely taste the blueberry at all. Is the blueberry extra one of those that just gets muted if you use too much?
