I couldn't even begin to guess how many flavors I have. I do know its a ridiculous amount and I'll probably never use them all. I just got an order of 39 flavorings from Russia that I made before I got on the 4oz tfa kick. Before then I thought I wanted capellas and FA and Hangsen and Inawera:facepalm: the list goes on and on. I have a spare bedroom set up with a desk to mix which is pretty small, and the rest of the room is nothing but flavorings and sample juice bottles lol

I really know that feeling. When i first started buying flavors,i didn't know what flavors i wanted,or what brand to buy,so i was all over the place with it.I have probably 100+ small sample sizes, some of which i will never use again, and alot i have never tried yet,but as i started to find what i like,i have gotten on that 4oz. kick as well. When i started,i kept all my stuff in a plastic shoebox, but as my stash grew,i moved up to a good sized toolbox, now with all the 40z. bottles i have been buying,i'm running out of space again,so it will be time to upgrade to a bigger box very soon.I have plans to use the spare bedroom as my "lab",but i have to get my oldest son out of there first haha,he is 20 years old with no ambitions in life,so it's been a hassle trying to get him to doanything at all,but eventually i think he may get tired of me pushing him to do something and maybe he will finally get out of the way of my plans haha.

Been tinkering with the strawberry cheesecake recipe all day. No luck making a breakthrough. I think I need the strawberry flavor (I only have ripe strawberry and strawberries and cream). I also have some CAP strawberry flavors on their way. Once I get those, I'll try again.

I think I need to tinker with different creams. I've been using Vanilla Bean Ice Cream, but I'm going to try some Dulcu de Leche and some Bavarian Cream.

To cheer myself up, I made some of the recipes you kind folks have posted here... Bill's Pralines and Cream and baseballmom's Butterscotch Swirl. I also made up a 15ml batch of Snow Days by Nic-holio.

Once again, I thank all of you who have posted recipes that "work." It makes the process a bit more enjoyable if I can make some juice I know I'll like as I tinker with my own recipes.

That capella strawberry may be the key that works for you.I don't care for either of tfa's strawberry flavors, and almost gave up on strawberry flavors all together, but got some from cap. and found i do actually like some juice with strawberry in it haha.99% of my flavors are tfa,but occasionally i do need to go outside of that box to find what is good to me.

Yeah, I have ordered CAP strawberries and cream as well as their sweet strawberry. I've heard so many good things about those that I got 4 oz bottles. I have a 15ml bottle of TFA (sweet) strawberry in my shopping cart. I buy the 15ml sizes until I know I like a flavor. I'm getting more and more 4 oz bottles in my collection.

I think the CAP cheesecake might help too. I know this is a TFA thread, but I think it's good to know what works best in any recipe.

I've put together a recipe for that Apple-Cinnamon Danish, based somewhat on Bill's Cinnamon Danish, so thx Bill! A lot of y'all know these flavors a lot better than I do, so I'd welcome any feedback about anything that doesn't seem right about this recipe, before I mix it up. Saturday night is a good night for mixing; no TV to watch and distract me -- I've discovered that being distracted while mixing is a very bad thing. :D

Anyway, here's the recipe --almost entirely TFA this time! :D :thumb:

Apple-Cinnamon Danish
TFA DX Cinnamon Danish 7%
TFA Cinnamon Redhot 0.50%
TFA Apple Pie 3%
FA Apple 2.50%
TFA DX Bavarian Cream 5%
10% Ethyl Maltol 5% (because I don't have cotton candy)
TFA Sweetener 3%

Ok, I tried that out, and have made a few small changes, the biggest of which is, dropping the cinnamon redhot. I don't know why, but lately that stuff just tastes metallic to me. I've altered a couple of the percentages too.

TFA DX Cinnamon Danish 6%
TFA Apple Pie 5%
TFA DX Bavarian Cream 5%
FA Apple 1%
10% Ethyl Maltol 5%
TFA Sweetener 3%

This is pretty good! But I might boost the DX Bavarian to 6%, make it a little more balanced.

Storing leftovers from the plastic 4oz bottles. Since I usually have at least 3ml of a flavor left after transferring from plastic 4oz bottle to glass, and since a few drops of a flavor may be all it takes to come up with another good recipe, I'm storing what's left in the plastic bottles in glass vials, as long as there is at least a couple ml's left in the bottle to make it worth using the vial and printing a label.

Now I just gotta remember to always check what I have in vials before mixing something up.... :)

lol wow i forgot that lol. 24

Hi nate -- yeah - check around in the last several pages of this thread. You can definitely do better on the price of the bottles. I ended up switching bottle vendors (for most of what I need anyway) over some of the links folks have been posting here lately.

My last purchase was a 64pk of 4oz cobalt blue's for.. pretty sure.. 45 cents apiece from Packaging Options Direct. Plus whatever closure option -- I picked poly cone 24/400 caps. Ended up being well less than $1 a piece, even after shipping. I know the dropper caps cost a bit more but I don't think they're that much more.

Don't feel bad if you already ordered somewhere more expensive, I've been there. It's a journey and we'll all get there eventually! :)

Is it because your glass bottles are smaller than they should be, or does TFA put more than 4oz of flavoring in the bottle? I only measure what I take out, never measure/calculate how much the bottle actually had in it.
