Got my Western Labs order in!
They took 2 days to get it shipped.
Then it took 2 days, priority mail, to get here.
11/12 misc. orders last couple months on time, tracking good.

The WL flavors are in glass bottles.
The BCV in plastic with drip tip are easier for beginner DIY and 5ml mixes.
Drops rather than ml.

Liking the flavors in this order much better.
Finally gonna mix a 10ml - getting closer to what I'm looking for.
Will post flavor thoughts soon!

In my opinion USPS has only gotten worse, not better.

A few weeks ago I placed two orders with a company at the same time. They shipped them out at the same time, both packages left the original USPS site at the same time, but then one package shows up a week and a half before the other(same shipping option).

Over the past year this has been getting worse and worse with them. I estimate 7 out of 10 of my packages are delayed by a week or more lately.

9 times out of 10 they never update the tracking until it is out for delivery anymore either.
The USPS doesn't have to turn a profit, doesn't rely on loyal customer returns, doesn't care if competition beats them, has unlimited tax payer funding and the best benefits on the planet, even if they don't "produce".
What motivation do they have to improve their shipping system? None.

USPS must be having an internal problem because that happened to me too. I had a Priority Mail 'shipment left facility' on 3/4 and no updates until today when it was delivered. Normal delivery (put a letter in the mail) is 2 days so I don't know why this took so long. I was hoping to do some mixing over the weekend :(

The good news is I have my order. The bad news is while I was waiting I kept reading the recipe threads and came up with another dozen or so mixes to try and more flavors to order! It's going to be hard to decide which ones to do first...

They are getting really bad lately, they got better for a while, and now rolling down the hill faster than ever before. They can't even get packages sent in the right direction anymore haha.I had a package sit in Chicago for a week,it finally got sent out yesterday, from Chicago to Ohio is a straight shot, but this package got sent to South Dakota, that's not in between Illonois and Ohio haha.

You can damn well tell it too. I have went round and round with them and its evident in their responses that they just dont care

I must say that my local USPS is very good . Now I live in a small town of about 3000 people. When they make a mistake they bend over backwards to make it right and they even deliver packages on Christmas. Must be that small town thing. :toast: On the flip side a package I sent on the 3rd finally updated, it should have arrived on the 6th.

So approaching the DIY as a newbie and going 100% diketone free isn't the easiest route.
I'm finding I'm not a fan of butric acid.
The DX Hazelnut and DX Bavarian Cream come to mind.
Even a little in the mix and the butric acid comes to the front.

Some thoughts on my new TFA flavors from WL:

French Vanilla Cream: favorite vanilla flavor. Creamy and not 'dx'y
Vanilla Bean Gelato: a close second. Not as creamy though.
Vanillin: like it to punch up the vanilla.

DX Caramel Original: I love carmel and it's the only one I have, and I like it.
Not 'dx'y like some of the other DX's. Needs 4%+ though.
(edit: not AS 'dx'y, but still enough that I'm looking for an alternative..)

Acetyl Pyrazine: smells like the nutty I'm looking for. I haven't ventured above 2% yet though.
Gonna try bumping it up.

Ry4 Double: was thinking this would be great. It's better than some of the other tobaccos.
TFA's seem to be so fruity, even this one. I want more carmel, vanilla, nut, sweet and less fruit!

Western: I mentioned this one in an earlier post, but saying again pretty good analog style tobacco.

Brown Sugar: I prefer this style sweetner over the more artificial tasting cotton candy and sweetner.

Pistachio: lighter, sweeter nut without the DX of the DX hazelnut.

Next to work on is blueberry pie with the Blueberry Extra and Wild Blueberry.

I haven't gotten to:
Honey: smells floral but supposedly doesn't vape that way?
M Type: smells similar to Western as in not so fruity!
Smooth: guess I'll work it in when I get the other stuff figured.

So the first mix recipe I'm trying to get down as an ADV is a
nutty, vanilla, carmel, light and not too fruity tobacco turkish/ry4.

RY4D VNC:

RY4 Dble: 3%
Acetyl Pyrazine: 2%
French Vanilla Cream: 4%
Vanillin: 2%
DX Caramel: 4%
Brown Sugar: 2%
Toasted Almond: 2%

Any comments/suggestions welcome! This is getting closer to what I'm looking for.
Will continue tweaking!

Capthook,be careful with that Acetyl Pyrazine, alot of people have said that if you get to high of a % on it,that it will go from nutty to burnt corn chips haha. That ry4 recipe you posted sounds like it could be good.Another ry4 you may want to try is called Rwhy4,it's posted in the recipe section, and it is very good. That was one of the first recipes i followed when i started diy,and it was my adv for probably 4 months.I haven't had it in a long time,so i'm planning on making some up later this week,i will make up a batch of your recipe too,it sounds good as well.

I got all my flavors in today that i had on order.Several 4oz. bottles of tfa flavors,a 30ml fw lemonade so i can try Bill's lemonade recipe,a 30ml fw yellow cake because i see alot of recipes with it,and i want to try them haha, and got the flavors i needed to try Andria's smoky cappucino. The only thing i didn't get that she uses is the wta,but i may try a drop or 2 of dnb in it's place.I'll get that made up tommorow because i've been waiting a long time to try that one out.

Yea, with the AP - reason I haven't tried above 2% yet.
I like nutty, but the DX hazelnut is a bit too 'dx'y, the toasted almond is a bit light, the pistachio is a bit different profile.
Thinking pralines & cream CAP for an add.
I've got Rwhy4 on the list... along with about 20 others culled from here (and there and somewhere ha).
Thanks!

Capthook another one you could try is a Tribeca Clone (from the recipe section) 10% TFA RY4 Double and 1 drop of Acetyl Pyrazine per 5 ml of finished juice. Let that steep for a least 2 weeks but a month is better.

Yea, the whole steeping thing is tough coming fresh out the door.
I've got all of the ones I've mixed sitting to see if they'll get better.. which they probably will.
But fresh, this is the closest I've got to tasty, so I wanna vape!

Has anyone had a problem with tfa ripe banana. For the past few years I have been using this flavoring for my adv but only in 30 and 50 ml batches. I recently purchased the supplies I needed to make 250 ml batches. The problem I have ran into is that the banana is separating. I have shook it every day for a good 10 minutes and also have tried a hot water bath with no luck.

I have contacted the vendor and they were no help. They said that this is a common problem with this and other flavoring. They also said I should just keep shacking it.

I have a 120ml bottle i got from TFA about 10 months ago and it's still perfectly clear.

So the DX Caramel is throwing me off. It's the Butyric Acid again. Thought I could make it work.
Recs on Caramel-FA or Caramel V2 - Cap?

Also, is an 'organic' sweetner available? What about dissolving regular sugar in PG? ?
