Sinuses aren't blocked; I take half a 12-hr sudafed most mornings, to get me past the morning blockage. I think the biggest part of the problem is probably the new wick I just put in, I don't think it's quite enough wick (it's rayon). I took a few hits on my magma, and was able to more-or-less taste that. Just ate, drank a whole glass of my coconut water/pineapple juice; the bite of the juice has helped a bit. I'll re-wick the kayfun with the inadequate wick, see how that does.

Took the time to sit down and make up some more samples today. After months of thinking about haha, finally mixed up a batch of Bill's mango custard, also finally made up some of Nic-holio's dk tobacco recipes, made a sample of both the one with coconut, and the black cherry version,I hope he's right about these being good, that dk tobacco smells foul haha,so hopefully they taste better than that flavor smells, and then made up a watermelon starburst recipe that i found somewhere, can't remember where i got that one though.I'm going to let these all sit overnight, and start doing some tasting tommorow.

OMG.... all of a sudden, I find I seem to be suffering from the dreaded Vaper's Tongue! OMG! I never really got this, but it's like my brain just flipped a switch or something; none of my 3 regulars really taste... like anything! 8-o The blueberry muffin one, I can sorta taste, but not much; the Smocha, just tastes/smells like smoke; I can't taste the strawberry at all! 8-o

Geez, this is dreadful. Maybe after I eat, I'll be able to taste my vape again.

Speaking of Starburst I made Bill's Pink Starburst (of course it was great) while I was making that, my daughter told me about the White Starburst the kids were eating so I had to make it

Pineapple 12%
EM 5%
Sweet Cream 4%
Vanilla Swirl 4%
Sweet and Tart 2%

That sounds pretty good,i'll have to give it a try next time i have my supplies out.I thought i remembered Bill's recipe having cream in it,this watermelon one i had doesn't have any cream,so i'm thinking it may still be good, but probably more of a plain watermelon candy than a starburst, but hopefully it comes out ok.

Don't have anything like that. I've had several instances where for a whole day I go around smelling something weird, and days where things tasted odd, but this is the first time in over a year of vaping where I just can't really taste the vape at all. I mean... I taste *something*, more with the blueberry than the other two, but it's just kinda blah, nothing like usual, just kinda not-there. I'm thinking this is just another one of those weird days where my taster is just out of whack, it was just really surprising how suddenly it struck -- I'd been vaping along since I woke up, pretty much normal, then WHAM from one vape to the next, the flavor just disappeared -- that's why I thought it might have been from the new wick, but the one I replaced that one with isn't much better. It's not doing that asinine popping like the other one was (which was why I thought it was just an insufficient wick), but I don't really taste much more than I did.

It's a *little* better since I ate and replaced the wick, so I should be thankful for small favors, and muddle through; my experience with odd smells and tastes suggests that tomorrow may be entirely different. But, I certainly won't be doing any mixing today, with my taster so goofy.

I've never seen a white starburst, but looking at that recipe, it would definitely be my favorite. I've got to try this one. Thanks. Love pineapple

...dk tobacco smells foul haha...

Yea, I'm not a fan of the dk - even with low % and steeped.
The turkish is ok - low %. The ry4dbl is a bit better.
The western can be made up to be similar to the VW (VapeWild) reds - pretty good.
I mixed up dk .5% turkish 1% ry4dbl .5% and then vanillas and nuts, wasn't too bad.
The dk I think will stay on the shelf mostly though ha

Nic have you tried marshmallow as a sweetener?

Hi artv61,

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll try it!

After my 100DT's that night I mixed up a 50ml bottle of it with nicotine. It was good enough after the last DT (what I posted the recipe of) that I felt like it would need some longer term testing to see how it would do after a couple days' aging. The vanilla swirl sweetened it up fairly well and seems to complement the other flavors pretty nicely - and the small (1%) butter does make it taste a bit more like the pecan pie my wife makes. It's not a strong butter flavor but it's there.

I probably will have another go or two at this with some suggestions folks have given for additional sweeteners - because pecan pie is supposed to be really sweet and some more sweetness wouldn't hurt it. But I won't be terribly disappointed if those don't work out. (I suspect at least one of them will though).

The liquid as I mixed it ended up fairly dark - but that is in no small part due to the regular Graham Cracker I used, which is quite dark. The Vanilla Bourbon is also dark but not at 5% level like the Graham Cracker in this recipe. I had to dry-burn my coil and re-wick after nearly 2 days of vaping this - quite a bit of buildup on the coil and it started to taste a bit 'crusty' (burnt) after 10-12ml or so. It probably wouldn't be as bad if I'd bought Graham Cracker (Clear) instead. My bad. I sorta got in a rush towards the end of my recipe/flavorings order research and overlooked needing to get clear instead. (I was wanting to get the order in in hopes of it arriving by the weekend).

I switched back to this bottle yesterday after rotating through a few flavors. Still pretty darn tasty. I'm planning to rewick and dry-burn as soon as I'm near empty in this tank. :)

I'll definitely try folks' suggestions for some additional sweetness next time I get the mixing stuff out.

Thanks everyone!

I'd been using my ST Nanos today, but apparently my juice was a little too high PG for my liking in those tanks. Whipped up 30mL of Bill's Butterfinger with max vg, and ooh-la-la.... That's what I'm talking about!!!!!!

I use a lot of PT2s, so I guess my higher PG juices will get relegated to those tanks.

Plus, hitting on my new Butterfinger and sipping a bit of Guiness - heck of a way to spend St. Patrick's Day :)

I have two in my working file, haven't made them yet.
Watermelon - 15%
Sweet and Tart - 5%
Sweetener - 2%

Other is
Watermelon - 15%
Sweet Cream - 4%
Vanilla Swirl - 4%
Cotton Candy - 2%
Sweet and Tart - 2%

That top one is the one i mixed today,i hadn't seen the 2nd one,so i'll give that one a go too, looks like it may be closer to a starburst than the first, since startburst have that little bit of a creamy type taste to them.

I haven't actually tasted them yet,so i can't say how the taste will be for me,but as soon as i opened the flavor bottle, the first thing that came to mind was that it smells just like m-type to me,and i hated that stuff haha.I think the way nic-holio did that flavor with enough others may help balance it out though.especially the black cherry one,as the cherry should be more dominate.Ry4 double is by far my favorite tobacco flavor from any flavor brand i've tried though,i got away from it for a while, but have started using it again, and yeah it's good stuff when mixed with a little caramel and cream.I've done several tobacco extracts now,so i don't buy too many tobacco flavors anymore, but ry4 double will stay in my stash.

On the DK/Black Cherry I mixed up (recipe posted several pages back and added to "development" section of my recipes blog post) -- I think I might try reducing the DK to 2% next time, although it does not have a really strong DK flavor to it at 3%. I think taking it down a percent might just background the DK a bit more. The DK flavor is more pronounced at 3% in the other DK Tobacco recipe I posted around the same time.

I have them both mixed up the same as the recipes you posted,i always like to try stuff as posted first,to get a feel for it.After mixing them, the smell is pretty nice, but when i first opened that dk bottle,it wasn't so pleasant haha.

Well, I was perusing the TPA site yesterday, and learned something I had not known about a flavor I've been using, the Dbl Chocolate-Dark -- it has sulfites. For an asthmatic, using or ingesting anything with sulfites makes a mockery of my avoidance of diketones, so today, I decided to mix up some of my (newly-renamed) "Smocha" without the Dbl Choc-Dark. It's not bad at all; less chocolatey of course, but I increased the Milk Chocolate by 1%, which helps a bit. I'm considering whether to go ahead and get some Dbl Choc-Clear; I probably will at some point, but my Smocha is entirely vapable even without any Dbl Choc.

Here's the revised recipe -- I also dropped the sweetener from 1.5% to 1%, since the times I want to vape this, it's generally when I'm really not looking for something sweet. It's just sweet enough now, with all the cream and vanilla, to take the bitter edge off the european-coffee taste.

Smocha
INW Cappucino 2%
INW Coffee Tobacco 2.5%
INW Virginia Tobacco Absolute 2.5%
CAP Hazelnut v2 2.5%
TFA Vanilla Swirl 2.2%
TFA Milk Chocolate 4%
CAP Sweet Cream 5%
TFA Malted Milk 1.8%
TFA Sweetener 1%

Total flavoring: 23.5%
