@DingerCPA - sorry that I missed out your question about extraction. I read your post before my first cup of coffee this morning and my eye/brain co-ordination were not quite functioning yet.

Before I located the Cavendish at INawera I too was considering extraction. The extraction process seems not too difficult if you have the time and patience for it. What is tricky is the filtration. I thought a coffee filter might do but was informed the filter has to be even finer than that since you need to eliminate all particles no matter how small you might think they are. So you would need a lab filter. But I really don't wish to discourage you from attempting it. For all i know, acquiring the right equipment might be far easier for you than it is for me. Here's a link that might help you on your way. I remember bookmarking it because the same process is used for tea extracts which for me were interesting as well.

Slow Cooker Extraction of Tobacco and Tea | E-Cigarette Forum

I'm sure there are more threads about the process, but this is the one I had handy.
I have a huge piece (18x18) of this filter and can help with a piece if you want to PM me

The really fine filters are reccomended, but not a must use.I have been using cheesecloth as an intial filter, then putting some cotton in the bottom of a syringe, pouring the liquid in,and forcing it through the cotton with the plunger, and i dont see any particulate in my juices, and get very little gunking issues.Don't let the lack of lab filters hold you from trying it,if you like tobacco mixes, then you can't beat a good extract that you make yourself.

This is the same method I've used since I started extracting except I don't force the liquid through the cotton, I let gravity do it's thing. I also squeeze the extracted tobacco in either cheesecloth or a coffee filter to make sure I've gotten all the liquid I can out of it then run that through the cotton filtered syringe. I usually do a 2nd pass with fresh non compressed cotton and done.

Thank you very much for your offer... you are very kind. I don't intend doing any extraction for the moment. It needs time and patience and with summer here and company coming and going I'm sure I'm not going to have the time for it. Come winter again perhaps. :) But thanks again.

Pap, when you are ready to try extracting, send me a message if you want. I have been extracting for over a year now. Would never call myself an expert in anything, but I do have experience, have followed the extraction threads for years, and if I can help, just ask. Chanel is extracting now, and the filter she has is what I use. Some people use finer lab filters for cleaner extracts, but they can get expensive. I am happy with how I have been doing it. Sounds like Nomoreash and b. m. and a few others have it down too. :)

Extracting tobaccos is economical, not hard, and really does not take much dedicated time.

Now would be the best time to get it started then if you plan on doing a cold extraction.Just put your tobacco or tea in a jar and cover with pg,then let it sit as long as you want. When your busy with other stuff,it's easier to forget it's there so you dont constantly go to check on it haha. The last 2 that i did,i let sit unbothered for 2 months and they came out fantastic.

Yeah,i've done a few different ways, quick heat in the microwave, slow simmer for 40 hours or so in a crock pot,and the cold method.I haven't done the same type of tobacco different ways to see if there is any difference or not,but so far the ones i just let sit really came through good, could just be the tobacco that was used for those versus the others, but i would bet it had alot do with the long soak.

OMG, if anyone can help me figure out how to clone Cloud Science - Alpha by Teleos, I would be forever grateful! I absolutely love this juice and just don't know where to start... my only attempt with strawberry flavoring was abysmal and I'm not keen on repeating that mistake again...

I can't help you with the Alpha Clone because I've never tasted it. Going by what Nutz posted though I do make a kind of strawberry cream which I've been vaping in my Plume Veil today and which is not bad at all. I had made the mix for someone else about a month ago - something like 80% VG 0mg nic because he just wanted it for the clouds but having a taste of it today I quite liked it myself.

7% CAP Sweet Strawberry
4% TFA Strawberry Ripe
3% TFA Vanilla Swirl
2% TFA Vanilla Custard

Thank you, Sir! I can't open it from work (stupid firewalls), but I'll check it out later and see if I have the ingredients...

Ripe Strawberry 5
Strawberry 3
Sweet Creme 4
Bavarian Creme 4
Cotton Candy 3

Pap, your recipe looks good too.

Hmmmm... odd to see the cremes there, I don't really taste any cream in the Alpha. I'll give it a shot though and see what happens. Maybe up the CC a bit as well. Definitely a good starting point though! Thanks again, Sir!

You may not taste the creams because they are not there to be a hight note - but they are very likely there. I feel that fruit flavours without a supporting cream somewhere in the background, especially TFA fruits, are a little iffy. The creams, though they might not actually taste like creams give the fruit body. The strawberry flavours I have in my recipe are themselves very sweet. Even without the addition of any sort of sweetener (which cotton candy is) the juice is already very sweet.

Yeah, I know what you mean. It's just that Alpha has NO creaminess to it at all... at least not to me. As for the desire to up the cotton candy, it's more of a "texture" that I'm looking for in this juice... I don't know how Teleos did it, but you can almost "taste" the graininess of the "spun-sugar". It really is an amazing juice that I would love to duplicate... if I can figure it out, I'd love to substitute peach for the strawberry... and probably a bunch of other fruits as well...

I've just looked up the description of Teleo Alpha since, like I said, I never tasted it. As I suspected it says: PRIMARY FLAVORS: STRAWBERRY, BERRIES TO ACCENT, MULTIPLE CREAMS

http://www.teleosjuice.com/alpha/

Awesome! I stand corrected. The only description I had seen is the one on Giantvapes that just says strawberry and "spun-sugar"... and that was pretty much all I tasted in it. Thanks Pap!
I looked at my flavor stock when I got home last night, and all I had was Strawberries & Cream flavor, so it looks like I'm gonna have to place an order if I want to try to get this one done. Apparently I'm out of Vanilla Swirl too... I'm gonna need quite a few flavors. I've still got everything I need to make my ADV for another 6 months or so, but I'm just about out of "experimental stock", LOL.

The description also talks of "berries to accent" - I wonder if that is a touch of blueberry and/or blackberry or whatever or if it is just a touch of berry crunch. I do have berry crunch but I've never used it. Might try adding some to my own strawberry cream and see what happens. :)
