A good way to try out a small bit of vg,if there is a walmart nearby,you can get humco vg there near the bandaids and stuff.I used it for a long time before i finally bought pg/vg by the gallon,but the humco is good stuff and it's only like $3.50 or so a bottle.
where do you buy it that sells it in glass bottles?I've bought VG and NIC that had a "wang" to it - kind of a chemical smell and taste but hard to describe. Both came from the same vendor, and they use a soft plastic bottle. I am suspicious of the plastic bottle. I think if the stuff sits in a warm warehouse in that soft plastic, it may absorb something to give it that chemical wang. I've found that airing it helps a little but not enough. I'm just not buying PG, VG, or NIC from that vendor any longer - inconvenient, since I like to buy flavors there, but I'm ready to throw some of this stuff out so ...
I doubt any of them sell it in glass bottles - but most use the harder plastic (can't remember now what it's called)
Weird, but yeah - the PG I got from them, in the same plastic bottles, was ok. I don't know what this means - was it fresher? Or does PG not leach the odor/taste from the plastic? (And to be clear - I don't know that this is where the odor/taste came from - it's just a strong suspicion.)
I really think you may be on to something though because that is sort of the way I have always described it (plasticky, waxy taste)
There is really no need to steep that one,it changes very little in the first day or so,then stays the same after that.I've went through like 3 or 4 30ml bottles,and just finished off a 120ml bottle today that lasted about a month and it still tasted exactly like the day after it was made.Now i'm off to make another 120ml of it haha,yeah it's good stuff.
If the local walmart doesn't carry it,usually walgreens,cvs,or rite aid will have it.Again,not all of those either i'm sure,but just a few more choices.A quick way for someone to see if their local walmart carries it is check their website,it will tell you if your local store has that product in stock.
anyone know where I can find the peanut brittle recipe ,I went back about ten or 15 pages and cant seem to find it. I thought it was recent.
I checked 2 CVS, I rite Aid and one Walgreens. NONE of them had and PG or VG available nor did they offer to order any for me.
I suspected EM at first so I made something that did not require EM or cotton candy. Still there. I then suspected the sweetener, made something without that, still there. My last thing made, the yogurt, had neither Sweetener or Em, still there. I am beginning to think maybe it is the VG???? So depressed.
That's where it is at my local store too.It's in between the rubbing alcohol and peroxide right down the isle from the band aids,i bought it several times,so now i have the spot memorized haha.
