Exactly.Eating ?? .. Me Too
But, I haven't found a good chocolate DIY flavor worth vaping, or even one that tasted like chocolate .. and I've tried anything and everything with "Chocolate" is it's name, no matter what % I used.![]()
Chocolate can be a very good vape, but I don't find it to be an ADV. I have made many chocolate recipes that are spot on chocolate flavorings, such as Butterfinger and Chocolate Pie. They are delicious. After about five or ten minutes, though, I've had enough of them. But I feel almost the same way about some of the fruit pies. A little is good, a lot is too much. Maybe its just my own taste preferences, but chocolate can be matched really well by controlling the percentages of milk chocolate, double chocolate and bitter chocolate with vanilla (You may just have a problem with the double fudge!). I am reposting some chocolate recipes and would appreciate some feedback about any of these recipe's.. Don't worry taste is individual, and to me, many of these recipes are dead-on, some, like the double fudge, maybe not so much:I made a 100dt of the fudge brownie recipe from the Dropbox . I'm not sure if I like it or not. I've never vaped chocolate before.
When I think of chocolate, I also think about secondary flavorings. Several come to mind:Bill, I think you're right about the chocolate for me. I've just never used chocolate before and it might be one for occasional use but not an adv. I've tried Apple vapes before but after ten minutes or so I'm done with them.
When I think of chocolate, I also think about secondary flavorings. Several come to mind:
1. Peanut Butter,
2. Coconut,
3. Caramel, and
4. Coffee, etc.
The Base Chocolate flavoring is very wide ranging depending on the percentages of the following:
1. Milk Chocolate,
2. Double Chocolate,
3. Bitter Chocolate,
4. Vanilla (Swirl), and
5. Sweetener, or Cotton Candy
I struggled with chocolate initially, like everyone seems to do, but once I discovered the above, I don't think it's all that difficult, and I think many of the recipes in the previous post are spot on, and I've been told the same many times, as well. However, that being said, taste is so specific to each of us. There are differences. Vaping is not eating, and doesn't always translate well to our taste and sensation perceptions. Just the way it is. All we can really do is speak about our own personal experiences and relate those to others, keeping in mind our differences. Thank you folks for your feedback, and good luck in your VapeQuest!![]()

What a fantastic idea and method Bill! Thank you!Flavor Chart:
Dropbox - ECF Recipes
Regarding the flavor chart, I've added it to the dropbox list. The flavor chart allows me to check an individual flavoring at 5%, 7.4%, 10.1%, 12.8%, 15.2%, 17.3%, 19.9%, 22.4% and 24.8% by adding only PG and a single drop of flavoring to a single formulation/recipe, and using only three drops of solution to check the taste. Using this form, I can find the starting percentage of almost any flavor in about five minutes, or less.
Start with 19 drops of PG and 1 drop of flavoring, or a 5% solution. Vape 3 drops (only). Add 7 drops of PG and 1 drop of flavoring (now a 7.4% flavor recipe), and continue to vape 3 drops, adding flavoring and PG as you work your way up the chart.
So, why the chart? I didn't want to start over a mix every time I wanted to try a different percentage of flavoring, so I created this chart that allows me to add only flavoring and PG to change the percentage based upon basic mathematical formulations. One can check the percentages from 5% to 25% in only nine quick steps without having to change out the solution/formulation/recipe. Works really quick. Would love some feedback.
The only issue that you may have is whether 3 drops of flavoring is enough to alert one to a correct percentage. It's not much and you don't get second chances with this method because we are both diluting and increasing flavor percentage at the same time in a step by step fashion.
There's also a section for plenty of notes to keep track of the flavorings you make. I've done this for most of the TFA flavorings, and do this routinely with new flavorings as they come in. Gets you in the ballpark immediately. Obviously, there are flavorings that require less than 5%. In that case, you'll figure that out on the first formulation, and work from a larger sample from 1 to 5% until you find the right percentage. Still only takes a few minutes to nail down any starting percentage range very quickly.
This is also useful to find the starting percentages of any Bases that you may create. Same principle, and really quick! Good luck!![]()

I've never tried chocolate either but...Bill, I think you're right about the chocolate for me. I've just never used chocolate before and it might be one for occasional use but not an adv. I've tried Apple vapes before but after ten minutes or so I'm done with them.
Welcome and thank you, clnire! What a fantastic idea and method Bill! Thank you!
Don't we actually have to test every flavoring for ourselves anyway? I have yet to find a chart on any starting percentages that worked for me. Either the range was so large as to be unuseful, or the percentage recommended was wrong for me. The Flavor Chart I just posted allows us to find the sweet spot for our own taste sensibilities on any flavoring. Just my two cents...Good luck!I really wish there was a flavor chart out there for all the main flavoring companies. For example, some sent me a Peaches and Cream recipe because they know it's one of my ADV's. It has TFA's Juicy Peach as the main flavor but I actually prefer FA's peach. 10% is way too much for FA Peach.![]()

Thanks to you and Bill! I was thinking if I used the FA Peach in the recipe to half the original and work from there.I have not played with that one I kind of forgot that I had it, but I had saved some recommended percentages, on FA when ever I found them and it was at 3 to 5%. It was always recommended to start low first. A lot of the FA flavors are in that percentage range.
