There is no NC law preventing them from selling nic base. There could be a city or county law, but I think Sugar_and_spice is right about it being easier on them with the deeming. Though flavors were deemed as well it'll probably be harder to enforce flavors and diy supplies besides of nic base.
The taxes went up for anything sold with nicotine in it. I'm in NC as well and do not order from MFS because of that. Even if I'm just ordering flavors from them(no nic involved) I'm charged .75 more in taxes. Thanks but no thanks.

The taxes are annoying for sure, though they don't prevent them from selling it. Though as of yet I haven't seen anymore taxes charged than when I started vaping (may of last year) and never on zero nic or hardware. Never ordered from MFS, though now I'll be on the lookout for taxes on those, maybe something new I've missed.

What made me look more closely at it was after NC proposed the higher tax on products containing nicotine, I ordered flavorings only from MFS. I know what the tax rate is here so I couldn't help but notice that the taxes were higher than what I figured them out to be. I contacted MFS about the discrepancy and that's when I was told about the higher tax. I informed them that I didn't order anything with nic in it but they had charged me anyway. I haven't ordered from them since.

BCV charges me tax too but they offer the option that if I'm already in town I can drive over and pick up my order rather than paying shipping.
That's cool! Most places won't do that. Having a internet Web site company locally usually only means paying local tax on your order. But not pickup!

ecig has a store about 2 miles from me, plus their hq is in Austin I think, so pay sales tax... No biggie, but the b&m store doesn't match Web site pricing and the b&m is always higher priced for local walk in compared to their own Web site.

And order from the web site means shipping & sales tax. It is what it is.

I can't go to BCV and order, I have to place and pay for the order on the website, then I can drive over there to pick it up. I have to pay sales tax but not shipping. It was a great deal when I was working in Durham as it was a 15 minute trip to their location. I'd order in the morning and drive over after I got off work to pick it up. I'm not working in Durham anymore so I just pay to have it shipped.

Hey all! I ran across a simple recipe that is fairly tasty for the RY4 Double/Vanilla loving folks.

It is called Custard King at hxxp://e-liquid-recipes....com/ by user James

Ry4 Double 8%
Sweet Cream 3%
Vanilla Swirl 4%
All TPA.

Unfortunately I do not have TPA Sweet Cream but do have CAP sweet cream. In my experience CAP sweet cream is slightly "salty" to my taste buds and tends to muddle "high" notes in a mix. Instead I subbed the TPA Sweet Cream with FA Fresh Cream at 2% and it turned out pretty good IMHO. I am thinking that with a touch of chocolate it would come close to the flavor of a SKOR bar.

Anyways I ended up with:

RY4 Double (TPA) 8%
Fresh Cream (FA) 2%
Vanilla Swirl (TPA) 4%

If you like vanilla, cream, and slightly sweet with a hint of tobacco/caramel "feel" it may be worth a try.

I did a quick hot water bath in a coffee cup to thin it out and mix it thoroughly, and then it went directly in my Velocity. I'm vaping on it now and figured it was worth sharing.

I love this recipe. I've made quite a bit. I ended up subbing cap v. Custard instead of vanilla swirl. I really like that. I'm out of custard at the moment so I'm going back to vanilla swirl on my next batch.

I usually drip a new flavor and then move it to one of my crown tanks. I can adjust from there if I need to. I think the crown tanks give off good flavor. I usually run a .5 ss coil in temp control mode. Usually between 380 and 440.

Just getting into DIY here. I want to keep it real simple at first so I can learn.

Wondering what flavor ADDITIVE the more experienced mixers here use to get that creamy buttery flavor? The one that makes the commercial ones taste creamy and buttery?

I know about the bad BUTTER type ones, (popcorn lung etc.). From what I've read online by some of the "expert" mixers there is no direct replacement in some recipes for those BAD ones, but they are still available. In my case I'm not too concerned to use those in small amounts if that is really true.

Dripping would give rich flavours than usual tank @ 30w / 0,2 ohms in my case..

    But let me know!

The flavor does come through very well with the higher percentages. Not sure I love it but it's not bad. Might be better with French vanilla creme.

Just did ry4 + sweetcream + vanilla swril following the % above.. I'm not noticing much flavor.. How long it needs to be steeped?

Give it around 24 hours.I use ry4 double in almost everything i make, and right after mixing there isn't a lot of flavor, but a day later it is very flavorful.
