F all that noise. Who wants to live in a neighborhood like that.

I didn't. That's why we got out of there. The place was crawling with freakin' weirdos. Had the ones across the street we helped shovel snow after that 2-foot worlds record snowfall one year. Busted our azzes two days over there because they were elderly and we didn't want to see them fall over and die. Then they turn around and stab us in the back. We did nothing to them. They just didn't like that we had a relationship with the wife beater's victim...which also turned into a bizarre relationship.

indulge me for a minute.

I am going to close my eyes and imagine....

It has been a long night and I've been busy working the forum. I need a peaceful place to just sit.

I'm in the rocking chair on this front porch, the wind is sighing through the trees and I feel the warmth of the sun on my closed lids.

I hear kids playing in the distance and they are laughing. It makes me smile.

I hear cars down the street, like on the cross street. Far enough away to just be background noise and not close enough to be a nuisance. As I rock, I think about long lazy days when there weren't so many things that had to be done.

I feel myself relaxing with a vape and a sweetened ice tea. Life is now good.

Good night all.

Got the perfect song for exactly that as I know precisely what you are talking about. Complete with the children playing in the background (last 5 - 6 minutes or so)... Got to play it at a higher volume. It's a quiet song, complex like Dragon's Fire and the volume lets you hear all the sounds.

Kids playing and laughing always makes me smile.

I listened with my headphones on so I could catch all the nuances.
It is very layered with sounds. Cool concept of the train ride and watching the world, out the window, go by.
The scenery reminded me of Michigan in the winter.

Thank you

Kids playing again and I'm smiling again. It kind of brings tears to my eyes for some reason. Nostalgia I guess. I miss that time when the kids were little.

The fondness of our youth. :)

And more train music....

I am at the age where the Day After Christmas I get what I really wanted. I get so caught up in trying to get the Kids and Grandkids the right gift I never even ask for myself anymore. So today I went back to Wal Mart and got myself a nice, comfortable pair of house shoes. I know that doesn't sound like much, but my old house shoes had black rubber soles that left marks on Mamaw's kitchen floor. Not Good. These have a soft sole, so no black marks on Mamaw's floor and no more clod feet on the way to the coffee pot ! sometimes, it's just the little things that matter.....

PoP, I got a pair of Rockports that look like those (but smooth). I wear them suckers all the time. I wore moose skin mocs for years and years but now I need ones with soles on them.
