Nope just fill out the 1 1/2 page app show dl and 20. they do cks and get back to you.
Sounds good to me. SC wasn't too bad. Pretty much the same as shatner posted for TX. Took about 2 months to actually get my permit there, though.
I personally like Alaska's, Vermont's and Arizona's (there's 1 more that I can't think of) procedure to carry concealed; there is none. If you can legally own a pistol, you can carry it concealed. I mean, I'm all for training, and would recommend to anyone that they do it. But I don't think the government should be telling you that you HAVE to, especially when most of the required "training" is minimal at best, and doesn't mean that you're proficient, anyway. I believe I just had to get 36 out of 50 rounds into the black, at various distances, starting from 7 yards and going out to <I can't remember, but not very far>. I aced it.
Even with the no-training-required method of the states I mentioned, you still don't hear of idiots carrying and doing dumb stuff. Well, not any more than the states that do require training, anyway.
Damn, I gotta stop going off on these tangents.
Back to guns!...........
I'm jealous of you and your G30, shatner. Glock .45's are such soft shooters, it's crazy. I had a G21 and wow, it was great. Never got around to getting a G30, but it was definitely on my "want very badly" list.
