PSL is not for sale :) Too much fun to shoot!

I suck at taking good pics but here is one last batch.

CZ-550 Safari Magnum in 375 H&H. I love this gun. Love love love. That's a Leupold VX-R Patrol 1.25-4x30mm scope on her and it is ....:
CZ_550_VXR_Med.png

And my bread and butter practice rifle, the CZ 452 Lux. This is a fantastic trainer...

CZ_452_Renaissanice_Wax.jpg

I have since taken those see-through rings off of her and replaced them with an adjustable aperture system which works very well...

That's about all the gun pron I have on hand unless we get into my HK USP or my Para Ordinance 1911 but I'm really not a pistol guy. I love my rifles and just maintain proficiency with the pistolas. Truth be told, I'd rather have a rifle any day of the week :) Just a personal thing, I know, I know any port in a storm and all that... *grin*

Good to meet some fellow gun nuts here!

I love CZ 452. Great trainer is correct!

What 'brand' AR is that?

Holy wow, my shoulder is so damn sore today. Between shooting my new 870 12G with 00Buck and 3oz slugs, the M1a, Remmington 700 .308, Mosin Nagant and my buddies .458SOCOM AR (that I built for him-awesome gun!) I wouldn't expect less. And the Rossi M92 .357Mag carbine has a little more recoil than I thought it would. But it is pretty light. But man, it's fun to shoot.

Gunner, if you're ever in Houston hit me up. We'll go shoot stuff.

I went shooting yesterday. First time shooting my Mosin Nagant. Holy hell, is that fun to shoot. It's practically a flame thrower. My freind, John, shot it so I got to see the muzzle blast. It's ~ a 3 foot ball of fire. And man, it's LOUD!!!

Something is wrong with my Glock 30's new trigger, though. It's having failure to fire issues. And no, it's not because of hard primers. It was having trouble with PMC, Remington UMC and Winchester Ranger-T +P JHP I'd fix it, but since the ZEV Tech trigger is under warranty it's their problem. So for now, I'll be caring my XD sub-compact 9mm. Which I'm ok with (carrying the XD, not the FTF issues with he G30). I sent an email to Glockworx, so hopefully I'll hear from them soon.

Not my pic, but this is the muzzle blast from a Mosin Nagant M44. 7.62x54R Tulammo

Also, I called ZEV about my Glock 30 trigger. He's sending me a new trigger reset spring. The guy I spoke with at GlockWorx - By Zev Technologies was very professional and helpful. He said that sometimes that happens and a new spring fixes it 99% of the time.

Ha, I bet your shoulder is sore! :D

My buddies always drag the Mosins out when I bring the PSL and man, oh man, those Russians did not have user comfort in mind when they built that 91/30! The PSL is a kitty cat by comparison when you are shooting a good long session. Almost exactly like the difference between my Remington 700 30-06 vs shooting my buddies M1 Garand.

That Rossi carbine would be a lot of fun to shoot, I'll wager, how do you like it? I got to shoot my neighbors Circuit Judge in .45 Long Colt and man that was just too much fun.

Are you hand loading for that .458 SOCOM? My AR buddies are all slobbering over that round. I was wondering what it costs to shoot...

I took the metal .... plate off the Mosin and put a 3" rubber pad. It still hurts, but not as much.

The Rossi is a blast to shoot. It's surprising how much recoil it has even with a .38 +P. With .357Mag you know it. The only thing I don't like are the stock sights. But I have some new peep sights on order. I just have to drill and tap some holes to install the and put in a dovetail eliminator for the old sight. I also need to smooth the action a bit. But that's not very high on the priority list.

And yes, my buddy that owns the .458 AR hand loads for it. I think he said it's ~60C/round. Not bad at all.

that's a frankensteined build, sir :).
PSA upper & bcg,
16" chrome lined barrel 1:9 twist rate
troy 7" ff quad rail
maTech BUIS
RRA lpk in a RBA lower (not poly!).
what did I forget?

Franken builds are the best. Troy makes a nice rail Have you thought about a Timney or Geiselle trigger?

I've heard good reviews about both but didn't get a chance to try one out yet. I'd probably wait till the whole panic settles down. I can't justify dropping $200 on a drop-in trigger that I probably won't be able to shoot anytime soon. Folks around my way are clearing out the local ammo supply, pmags and anything AR in fear of some sort of ban, which I'm pretty sure your state can relate to :)

I believe it ended up traded that with a gen3 19; it's hard to control the trade-bug :)

Star 1911(I don't remember the model) BKS; I'm not a 1911 guy but I had to get that to sweeten another trade I was working on.

on another note, I can't wait till the dust settles so I can proceed with my pistol build

Wow, I've never even heard of that model. Interesting. But I'm just now getting in to Glocks. I came from XDs. Which I still love. In fact, I'm carrying my XD sc 9mm because the ZEV trigger I put in my G30 is having a reset issue. ZEV overnighted a new trigger spring, no questions asked. If you want to do a trigger job on your Glock, I highly recommend them (www.glockworx.com I have this kit: http://www.glockworx.com/Detail.aspx?PROD=793694&CAT=3688). Nicest striker fired trigger I've ever felt. And all of my XDs have trigger jobs.

I'm going to send my G30 to Robar for front serrations, grip work and extended beavertail. I'm a gunsmith, but I don't have the equipment to do that. I have a 50 year old POS mill in storage, but it needs major maintenance.

Nice job on the de-finish, for lack of a better phrase.

I see you like the extended slide stop, too. I have them on my 30 and 36. Much easier to use with a good grip.

I lucked out. I was at my LGS selling some ARs that I built for them. I saw a Remmy 870 that I wanted, so I bought it. Well, they had 1 PMag and a few G.I. mags, so I bought them. They also had a Stag lower for $139 and a CMMG lower parts kit for $75. I didn't buy them because I get them a lot cheaper form my distributors. But I think the dip.... pricing bubble is about to burst. At least I hope so.

Oh, and I got 20 Mako mags delivered yesterday. :D Don't know if you're familiar with them, but they're good mags. They're made in Israel and the IDF use them.

Sweet. I keep my edc as stock as possible. the only aftermarket part I have is the 3.5 lb connector and a pinky extension. I would't mind considering the zev trigger for competition shooting but not on my edc. for some odd reason, I don't trust aftermarket products :)

Speaking of smooth trigger pulls, have you ever shot a caracal? If you haven't, be prepared to have your mind blown away.

I haven't shot a Caracal. Haven't even seen one. I really want one, except they're having 'blowing up' issues. In fact, they're under 2 recalls.

Caracal C Recall | Gun Nuts Media

Caracal Press - Caracal F and C Pistol Safety Warning And Recall Notice

I just had a dog killed by an FNS malfunctioning. I'll stay away from Caracal. For now.

I REALLY want a Styer M9. And an Armalite pistol (forgot the model). Oh, and an Arsenal Strike One (in FDE)- they'll be here soon.

how does your local ammo supply look? say for 1k 9mm 115gr fmj reloads

Pretty awful. I don't know any reloaders. I'm considering taking it up.

J&G Sales has 7.62x54R Comm-Bloc Light Ball FMJ ammo, steel case, 440rd tin for $84.92. It is corrosive! But Windex down he barrel is perfectly fine to clean it, though. So is warm water, but you really have to make sure to dry it completely.

7.62x54R Comm-Bloc Light Ball FMJ ammo, steel case, 440rd tin.

I was going to buy a tin, but shipping killed it for me; $27.92. Oh well. Great price on ammo, but not shipping. I understand that a 440 round tin of 7.62x54R is heavy, but damn. :(

Oh well, I shouldn't be spending money anyway. Being responsible really sucks sometimes.
