The only reason I know about veggie burgers is years of veganism through high school and college. Now I'm over it, haha. Eating mostly chicken but trying to add in more fish and red meat. But still occasionally order the black bean burger at Chili's, of all places.

eat pirahana .... after you fed them chicken and cows

Well..... unsweetened almond milk..... :)

Not everyone likes the flavor, fortunately I do.

I think I'm good Thanks though! :D

To add to this whole sugar conversation. When I had that whole checkup thing. My blood sugar was excellent. Diabetes does not run in the family. I think the only person that had it was my half brother. I believe my step-mom's family has it in hers. That and the fact that my brother was overweight. The sugar didn't kill him, he had a massive heart attack and passed away. He was only in his 40's. The sugar may have contributed..... I don't know how all that works. I just know that all my blood work came back great.

My younger brother was diagnosed with Diabetes at Age 19, and at that times he weighed maybe 150 pounds. In most cases, Family History has more to do with it than diet or weight, although excessive behaviors of any kind have consequences. My Maternal Grand mother died from High Sugar, her son (my Uncle) died in his 30's due to Low Sugar / Alcoholic Behavior, my Dad wore down and eventually died of complications from thirty year struggle of Infantile Diabetes (High and Low), and my brother, now in his 50's, still takes two small shots of Insulin daily. I've seen and heard about "Sugar" all of my Life.
Fruits are 'Nature's Candy', they contain a natural form of 'sweet' that is more easily broken down and digested. Dairy contains some to (you can thank the cow) but is still within reasonable limits for most. Some Vegetables contain high Starch/ Glucose (Corn, for example) but again it is a reasonable amount.
Processed Sugars, like Candy, Sodas, Sugar Granules, etc., are more concentrated to provide a desired taste. By substituting Equal for Sugar and non-Dairy creamers (I like the sugar-free French vanilla) in my coffee, drinking water instead of sweet tea, eating fruit instead of candy bars/ chips, and avoiding ANY white breads or dairy products, I can lower the sugar intake well within reasonable limits. This allows my digestive system the opportunity to stop 'Storing' and start burning. Again, it is a simple process that even the Military uses in Boot Camp to lean out the bodies of recruits.

I use a non-dairy creamer and I have pretty much cut out white breads. I cannot get into equal or any of the sweeteners. I figure coffee in the morning is good. I used to put sugar on my cereal. I am getting used to it without sugar. It's really still pretty good! :)

No sugary cereal. SpecialK, Rice Chex and Wheat Chex are the ones that I have taken to.

Yea, the Chex w/ 2% isn't too bad. I always liked the Raisin Bran, too. I know I'm not supposed to do this, but I limit myself to a 'Breakfast' or 'Diet' Shake (Special K) and a banana in the morning, along with a multivitamin (Centrum Men's 50+). If I start eating full meals in the morning, I stay hungry most of the day. So I try to go lean and sensible early as it helps me keep from over eating later.

Here's another Robin.. Just bookmark it tho. I made this tonight and it is excellent! I left out the sugar (by choice) and onion powder (out) and didn't bother with the lime or cilantro. This could easily be wrapped into lettuce instead of tortillas for those of you doing low carb. Great flavor.

Goal: 3 miles....not pushing it.

I think it might be sciatic nerve so I am doing stretching exercises. Inactivity will make it worse but too much won't help. Fine line... Only reason I think it is the sciatic, the pain is shooting down the leg. Had a back ache since using the stationary bike...that is probably when I aggravated it. The way I sit in the chair while on the computer is truly horrendous posture. I do know better

Weight this am: 135.6 (bounce around and up and down LOL)

Edit: 3 slow miles done. Very careful about posture while doing them :)

Hi guys and gals ! I did great this weekend on the exercising side. Saturday jogged 1.5 miles and did a few leg and arm machines my weight was 175.6 1 pound down. yesterday I did a weight training class ,1 hour full body workout! eating not so much  had pizza with the kids Friday night , a Huge breakfast Saturday then Golden Corral Sunday evening ! Lesson learned . I also do much better at work with my eating, so today I brought oatmeal a turkey sandwich on whole grain and an orange , dinner is chicken breast on a baby leaf salad ! I will be happy with losing 10 pounds a month til my targeted weight 145

I love this thread !

Oh ! I need to share with you all my new found thing with water ! I have a health food store next door to my job and the owner keep raving about this alkaline water he has .. I did some research on it and it is excellent for helping in weight loss , however the machines can be expensive . The plus side to this is you can make your own by adding a few drops of lemon or lime to your water , it really helps with curbing your appetite and very good for you . its working great for me

The Hitachi Magic Wand is a massager that's around $54 on Amazon. When my lower back flared up, it was a godsend. It relaxes the muscle surrounding the inflamed area, and stimulates blood flow, bringing healing oxygen to the area. I used it on my lower back, along my spine, and across my ribcage on my sides - which was very inflamed and I didn't even realize it. At that point, my lower back had gone into escalating painful seizing. With the initial massage, the spasms stopped immediately, and after a few more days of regular massage, it was so much better.
