Just your basic internal DCC tank 18350 OKR vv mod but with a bit of a twist...

You all know when you sand the black silkscreened paint off the face of these meters they are white underneath, I thought, it might look kinda cool mounted in a white mod, then I thought, those led's are pretty bright, bet it would shine through the white paint...so I thought "ghost meter"...I mounted it, epoxy'd all the gaps, sanded the whole thing down with 400 grit and painted it...you know, just to see what it would look like...here it is...top tact is fire, bottom tact is meter enable, left switch is a SPDT (up is atty v down is batt v) bottom switch is master...my kids where home for Christmas (which is when I gave it it's first coat of paint) and they mentioned it looked like an ipod...guess the name just stuck:blink:

oh ya, tip of the hat to Mamu for using the Denali box ...your royalty cheques in the mail;)

Very effective idea with the screen and reversing the case too. It's so mixed up you could call it the Denial. :)

I can see the iPod connection, but that would likely have touch switches. What I do see is standard issue Stormtrooper vaping gear, a la Empire Strikes Back.

Arg! where where you just before the naming ceremony?...of course, the "Stormtrooper"...is it too late to change, lol

The box isn't reversed, I just cut out the mid barrier and fabbed a new one out of Lexan and epoxy'd it in.

I've been bread boarding a cct for a while now that will use touch but I'm also trying to incorp. touch to work a digital pot like what Breaktru uses, make a total non de-script mod that looks like it's covered with brail, paired "nubs" of nickel wire that just protrude past the surface...for now, read, tinker, learn, read, tinker, learn....I'm finding though that my "style" I guess of recessing the devices seriously eats up real estate that could be used for tech coolness...

On that line how about The Imperial Vaporizer.

I love the invisible meter, very cool idea.

Disc grinder may be a little aggressive:D but I will admit to taking an orbital to it...my arm got tired...as far as "vendor mode"...not gonna happen...you have to do things like make your mods all safe and stuff...not to mention "all the same"...imagine heading down to the shop cause "tonight's batt terminal night"...and you do nothing but mount 150 batt terminals, gah! shoot me now...

Ah...I think it's an ADHD issue, lol...I have 3-4 mods at varying levels of completion on my work bench at any time and I try to keep them really diverse, a metal mod, a plastic box mod, a PT, a ???...often I'll be working on one, stop to think about my next step, look at one in the "to be completed" pile and get an idea and...sometimes planets align and 2-3 mods are completed within a couple good workbench days...but the imods "it" for a while...my shop's looking like Breaktru's, time to clean up and re-group...

I know what you mean...when I was machining I used to hate when it was time to do the runs of the small parts for the laser trackers we made. Tiny little parts but still had to have extreme accuracy..so I couldnt just blow thru them to get it over with. Luckily I did most of the prototype work..programming and the large parts like gimbal bodies...so I could get the other guys set up on the smaller stuff most of the time. But yeah...first one is cool..second and third..meh....fourth and remaining...ahhhhhhhhh!!

Keep up with the cool toys...you may even inspire me to overcome my ADD and get something done! :pop:
