Conundrum.... fasttech has split an order because the kayfun 3.1 kit (with bottle and stainless steel tank) is now in restocking. Was supposed to ship with my nemesis. I can order the svoemesto Kayfun 3.1 from them plus a stainless steel add on and have it ship 3/27. Restocking means typically 1 to 5 business days but can be longer. Wanted to use the Nemesis and kayfun together, pretty much at the same time. Do I cancel the kit and get the other version or wait and hope the restocking is done very quickly?

Vapemail is here!

Here's a question: is it normal that one of the cartos in the 5pk won't screw in properly? I know it's not connecting because the iTaste keeps saying "non"... I tried one of the others, and although it's supposed to be 2.5 ohms, it's showing 2.9. I guess I could keep trying the other 3, but just wanted to ask you experienced brilliant people about this. Normal? (this irks me because I already put juice in the stupid thing!! :grr:)

That lil Mini PT II is so cuuuuuuute... haven't tried it yet, but figured out which is the standard resistance coil, thank you iTaste. I wanted to use the glass drip tip I just got with that one, because stainless drip tips are coooooooold, especially first thing in the morning, but I'm not sure it fits properly, it goes in and seems to be "seated" but it rocks a little... normal? Guess I need to get a glass tip that has that flared shape?

pretty much you want Kanthal A1 -- i know they have some Kanthal pre wrapped wires with silica wick (and even some double and quadruple wicked pre wraps).

"Kanthal pre wrapped wires with silica wick"...sounds pretty good for someone new/stupid/lazy...

Would you have any links for me to score a few???

Andria, on that one head, pull the center pin (connector) down a bit. Wiggle it down, not too much but enough that you see it has moved away from the rubber insulator. I bought a 5 pack of evods and 3 of them worked right out of the box. The other two I had to fiddle with.

Hmm... well I confess I don't really know if I understand what you mean by "center pin"... is it this part? that's circled in red:

carto.jpg

I tried to pull that part down, but it didn't really seem to move, and the iTaste still shows "non" so it apparently didn't change.

Oh, and as promised, here's a pic with some of my new stuff: (a WORKING carto, and one of the drip tips -- this is a plastic one shown, but I'm actually using the glass one, because it REALLY IS cooler to the lips! :thumb:

I didn't take a pic of the Mini PT II because I confess I'm a bit underwhelmed by it. I tried several juices, but I tasted a lot of "hot metal". Yes I washed out the tank. Maybe it just needs to sit with the juice around the coil for a lot longer than other tanks do, because of the way the wicks are kind of down in the recess? So I left it with my morning mix in it, since it's glass and the cinnamon shouldn't bother it, and will try it a little later.

I like! Try to adjust the center pin on the top of the vv. A paper clip out mini screw driver lightly lifting a TINY bit upwards as you work your way around the pin.

Clearos tend to mute the flavor of your juices a bit. Might want to soak the coil in vodka, rinse, dry burn, try again to see if the flavor is better.

Did you already replace the drip tip? I hated my PTII until I changed to a different drip tip. No more metal taste at all, even though my new drip tip is also metal. It must be the finishing on the inside or something--I rubbed and scrubbed the inside of the original to no avail.

Hmm.. I will try it, but I'm a bit leery of doing anything to the vv since it's working for the other ones. Could that be just a dead carto? I just ordered another vv battery, so I can hang on to it and see if it works any better on the new one -- or on the eGo-C twist after I get it, but that will be a few weeks, since it's coming from Hong Kong.

However I think I have figured out what it is that hits me so "right" with cartos; they have a much stouter "pull", not so airy as a clearo, so it's more like taking a drag on a real cigarette -- tomorrow's 4 wks since I've had any of those, but 39 yrs is a hard memory to shake! ;)

No vodka here, no everclear, no grain alcohol of any kind and never will be. 21 1/2 yrs sober and not about to do anything to put that at risk! But it's odd that you say that, because the very BEST taste I've gotten so far was from my T3S, but after I changed the flavor wick to cotton. I'll just leave the Mini PT II soaking in the morning-mix ejuice, try it in the morning, when I can't really taste much anyway. If it still tastes like hot metal... I might try all that stuff, except the soaking-in-poison... er grain alcohol bit. :D

And I learned today the problem with lower resistance coils -- one of those new ones I just got Monday was already nasty and burnt tasting, took it apart and GAWD that thing was BLACK... rinsed it, took off the flavor wick, dry-burned the coil, and it's more or less white again. I'm presently boiling some of that P&C yarn so I can make a new flavor wick from that, and see if it's improved any.

Future coils I order will be the 2.5 ohm kind!

Take tape or clear nail polish to fill one of the holes on the pt2 to get a stiffer pull. Won't be so airy.

cotton wicks are so much better in clearos to get better flavor and vapor production. I rebuild all my Kanger style coils with cotton for this reason.

No, I just put the one that came with it, back on it, since the other ones didn't seem to fit it right -- but I'll try that for sure! The glass one worked the best, and with that cinnamon, it's probably the best one for it anyhow. Thanks!!! :)

Screw the wonky carto to one of your older batteries and see it if will fire. You might have a bum one out of the box.

ROFL!!! I don't *have* any other batteries! I started out with an eRoll then got the vv3! That's why I suggested trying it out on the vv3 battery I just ordered today. It should be here Friday; love Desert Vapes' prices AND the rate they charge for priority shipping -- just $5.25 -- to get something in 2 days, I don't mind adding $2.30 to the standard $2.95 shipping.

Also ordered some more cinnamon redhot -- their 30ml is just $11.95! That's awesome!

IIRC, you normally run pretty hot, Andria, and the PT2 problem may be related to that. Try vaping at a lower setting and see if it's any better.

Not all cartos are equal. (Heck, not all clearos are either.) A slight variation in the length of the threads can keep it from making a connection. So it may work fine on your incoming vape mail :2c:

And Brook? Just get both

 Brook = broke. In the past 45 days, I've spent the next 120 days of my e stuff budget. I allow $40 a week for juice and toys as that's around what I would've spent on analogs. Problem is I've spent over 4 months worth in just over a month and really should've waited

Trying to be frugal now. Again.

I can *so* relate to that -- got that $100 from my mom deposited today, and apparently we've been with our bank long enough that they went ahead and credited it, even though it was a check. So, I spent $46 on the order from Desert Vapes. Then, when I was trying to post those pics, I discovered that both my hosting and domain name were expired! So another $38 down for that! But, I told the ol man that I'm taking that $38 out of his paycheck when he gets it Monday, because I *should* have renewed those at the last pay, but the check was a little shorter than anticipated. At least it was $5 less than it would have been, because some kind soul had donated at my website, so I had $5-and-some-odd in my Paypal acct. Tomorrow I'll use my credit card to do that order from the HK place, since I just made a payment on it Monday; just waiting for it to be posted. :D

And thanks to that $100 (what little is left) we're having Domino's tonight, because I have vape crap ALLLLL over the kitchen counter and just do not feel like cleaning it all up right now, just so I can make another mess cooking! :nah:

I use these and remove the silica for cotton...work well, but all read 2.4 ohm. They last a good long time, too.

Wow, that is an awesome deal, 10 of 'em for $2.35. I might even go ahead and order those; who knows, by the time they get here, I might be ready to do that rebuilding thang. :D

I haven't watched the rebuilding video yet, as will be obvious from my next question: what do you attach the wires to?
