Agreed I would imagine a wire going from the negative post to the negative spring/clip on the kick should make it work.

The Goal was December, but is subject to change depending on how the beta testing is going.
Evolv is making it a point to do real Beta testing and obtain usable, working feedback, not just sending it out to 10 people, 8 of which you immediately recognize as frequent fan boys
Yes, just run a wire from the negative to the side terminal on the Kick and you are good to go!

Is the Kick something that will work forever....or does it ever wear out and need replacement?
All electronics will eventually fail,(thats why the precise line is so badazz) that being said, I am assuming evolv will not put out something that isnt good quality so I would imagine it will last for quite some time.

It's also true that electronics tend to either fail quickly, or last a reasonably long time. If you're inconvenienced, it's more likely to happen early in the product's life, than after you've had it a while. AFAIK, the only moving part on the kick, is a small pot for power adjustment.

This is really good stuff! Opens the doors for me to certain 18650 mods that I otherwise would not get because I'm so used to my current setup with regulated voltage/wattage. This really addresses the one pitfall of vv mods being that the electronics are not usually user replaceable. Now you can keep spare electronics on-hand

Yes, Evolv wants to keep specific feedback between the tester and Evolv to make sure they get unbiased, useable feedback. I can tell you that LadyMama did get to test drive the Kick over Thanksgiving in the PrecisePlus 18500 and with a AW IMR 18350 battery and was able to get approximately 4 hours out of it with it at about 90% turned up.
As far as fit on the PrecisePlus line:
PrecisePlus 18650 with AW IMR 18490: One Thick (.100) Oring in the bottom of the battery chamber
PrecisePlus 18500 with AW IMR 18350: One Thin (.070) Oring in the bottom of your battery chamber and one #12 Oring on the top cap.
Evidently the difference between a P18500 battery and a IMR 18350 battery is not exactly 15mm and necessitates an Oring around the top cap to fill the gap. (no worries, it still ends up looking like factory stock) I'll include one with each Kick in case you intend to use your Kick in your P+ 18500.

That's great news David! I think I'm sold on a P+500 and a Kick, sounds like the 18350 will hold up long enough for my needs. Any guess on timeline/ETA?
Time to design a P+ that accepts an AW IMR 18650 with The Kick. Cuz I have lots of those.
