And cough up a lung when using the P+18650....

Have you been spying on me all these years David? Thats how I like it. Seriously, without taking in the minimal resistance from the precise itself 1.5 resistance at 4.2 volts is about 11 and change so I figure 10w is pretty close to that LR attie with a fresh battery burn I enjoy except it will last throughout the battery.

p.s. Is the eta of the kick and the P18650 upgrades starting to converge? I seem to have money set aside burning a whole in my pocket and black jack tables calling me at every turn.

Rumor mill. That may have changed I haven't been actively following such things lately.

Hmmm I hope that's not the case. 10 w is about where im at now with a Glv2. I was hoping to try something with a little more and was planning to use this in a 18650 mod. Sounds like I might end up in the same general area.

I hear ya. I would be happier if they capped it in the 12-13 range and maybe they will, but when I look back at my experience I don't need or want to go any higher than what I get with a reasonably fresh LR atty at 4v or so and thats pretty pumping. Most folks I know think even I vape in the harsh range. There are 6volters out there, but I found that to be a pretty miserable frustrating scorch-y flavorless experience.

Part of the experience of variable watt is that you set it and it delivers that watts. It doesn't fade off as the batteries reduce output. It is quite possible that the "harsh range vapors" might be quite surprised at what difference it makes to have consistency.

No disrespect -- just lack of a better term! I use my VWatts device at much lower watts than I expected I would, and less than other mods.

From the video it looks like its not the easiest to read, but it still shouldn't be too much of an issue. Pot all the way to the right is lowest setting, all the way to the left highest setting. I think it'll be mostly "set by feel" instead of knowing exactly where you're at.

I tested it, you are correct, its sort of a crapshoot like dialing in VV with some mods......I have heard they made positive improvements since I tried it so I'm reserving judgment until I see one again in person. :2c: I have always wanted one that would function similarly but..........like I was told, they can't please everyone!!!

Using the Provari with a Boge 3 ohm carto, I usually have my voltage set to 5.5 (10.08 watts) to 5.7 volts (10.8 watts). If we are hard limited to a flat 10 watts, then I can just set it to max and be ok. I'll be learning the difference between that .08 watts makes when vaping and then updating my opinion on the matter

Perhaps I missed something but where did you pick up that 10w was the highest? I thought the specs weren't available yet.

Official specs have not been released and for a while it was hinted it might be more if enough people wanted it however on his interviews on VTTalk it doesn't look like it will be any higher then 10-10.1 for liability issues and to guarantee it works. He mentioned that they were concerned with a single battery being able to supply constant high amps.

They're probably putting into consideration that a lot of ppl will try using crap batteries like ultrafire that can't supply the needed current/will damage the electronics and/or 'splode the battery in their FACE

Oh ? Are ultra fire known to be crap? That might explain my sub par vaping experiences. I just ordered one of those fancy 3100 mah ones. Good to know I can hope for a difference.

That may be the case in mechanical mods, but I have two sets of Ultra's that I received with my first VV 14 months ago. They still still work great (the VV holds the voltage and I can push them close to 15w) and still have 80-90% of usage time.

With my P+ I only use AW and will continue to do so with the Kick which boosts the voltage and needs greater amperage draw to create higher voltage.

I just hope that if someone has the money to buy the kick that they can at least shell out the 8-10 bucks for a good IMR battery which is the recommended battery to use with the kick... You do have a good point though and I am sure that some people will try to use it with some ultrafire crap battery :(
