Here's my kicked P+ 18500 with a few of my other toys. :) Click, then click again for full size:

:) that looks excellent buddy
I've just sent my ody to get sandblasted to match my precise +
I hope I don't live to regret it,

To isolate problems, run whatever brand unit you own without the Kick to verify your unit is working fine without it. If you then put the kick in and it starts misfiring, its a good bet the Kicks contacts are in need of cleaning.

They Kicks contacts are made of brass, and will oxidize rapidly. Clean both the top and bottom and the side ground. You may want to apply a dab of a petroleum based anti oxidant like, noalox, vaseline, deoxit gold etc. too after cleaning.

I hope that in the Future Evolv will perhpas plate the contacts with Nickel or the like to fight corrosion.

Thanks alot for this tip I cleaned all the contacts with an alcohol wipe then applied a tiny bit of Vaseline to the contacts and the inside of the precise where the grounding spring conects and I've been using the precise all day at work without a single misfire

I love my precise even more now

Just to be clear: My brand new Precise+ 18650 should work with the Kick and an 18490 battery without adjusting any washers or O rings, right ?

I'm not sure this is bacause my P18650+ is brand new but I have a tiny space with kicked 18490 and I can hear battery is slightly moving inside tube.

I don't think switch washer doesn't do anything but my set up is 2 washer at switch, 2 fat (10,000) Oring at buttom of 18490 battery. It works perfect for my brand new P18650+.

I *think* I have my Kicked P+ 18650 working consistently now. Turned out that the button screw (what holds the spacing washers) was loose. I'm not sure why that mattered (or even how it got loose), but since I tightened down, I've had consistent hits for the past 6 hours.

Yes, i've had a few customers who had inconsistent firing and they didn't realize that the the bottom contact screw was loose. Electricity flows through it, so if it's loose, its the same as having a loose battery cable or what not, it needs to be tight. Its also slotted for a screwdriver so you can tighten it.

I already sold my Kick, used it a few times and could see the plastic shrink wrap starting to wear since it rubs against the threads when inserting and removing.. Its a tight fit in the Precise. Also I want to take full advantage of the Rhodium contacts, the Kick has Brass contacts which will oxidize. I put the money towards a Black Satin Provari-with Blue LED, my Precise+ 18650 needs a buddy.......

Next on my list is a P+ 16..................

BTW, I learned not try to make my P+ 18650 "stand up" on the button end. It would be slick if you would offer a matching desk stand of some sort so I don't have it rolling around my desk. Something that would allow the button not to be pushed when standing upright.

Think a little rounded block of steel with two holes one at the top and one at the bottom. The top hole is big enough to allow the bottom of the P+ to go through but the bottom hole just a mm or 2 wider than the button diameter.

The silence to this question is becoming deafening. Are the collective vendors prohibited from answering this?

Sleddie,

No, we are not prohibited from answering anything. Unfortunately, at this point, we don't know any more than you do.

I don't think that anyone is "holding back" or intentionally limiting the production. Brandon has told me that they are hiring people and doing everything they can possibly do to ramp up production and they are being built as fast as they can be. (I beleive him.)

Hopefully, in a few months, there will be more than enough Kicks to go around and everyone will have the opportunity to get "kicked" around to their hearts content.

I can concur with this. No-one is prohibited from answering questions, but it's hard to keep telling our customers that we don't know when we will be back in stock. We're in a service industry and we want to tell you good news, and where there's no news, it sounds like nothing's going on, but I can promise you that's far from the case.
Evolv are working their butts off to make Kicks available worldwide. It's a new product and max production output hasn't been reached, plus they are doing extended testing on all these initial batches so they can accurately set their quality control benchmarks. They are just not able to give accurate availability dates at the moment, and when we press them for timescales, they are likely to be inaccurate, so that leads to more disappointment.

To give you an idea of where Evolv are with things, we had our first batch in the UK last week (sold out in under 3 minutes) and Evolv are now busy producing the first batches for the other UK vendors. They then intend to replenish all vendors in the order in which they were supplied their initial batches - so this means the US replenishment is next on the list after the rest of the UK allocation has been filled. All vendors have received (or will have received) the same initial batch quantity.

So, as soon as your favourite vendor has their next batch in (or has a shipment notification) I am sure they will be communicating it through all their normal channels, but until we have more information, best we can do is just wait.
