Just received my replacement kick and can't get this one to fire either. Grrrr... Can not for the life of me figure out why it won't fire!!?? I've cleaned every part of my GGTS and nothing but a small sizzle for 1/4 of a second once from my i06. Ughh.
Do you have another mod you can test the Kick in?
I didn't have a problem with my Kick in a GGTS when I had one, but considering some of the fidgety flukiness I experienced with the GGTS otherwise it wouldn't surprise me if something's up in that regard. Even my PrecisePluses can be a little problematic.
Right now my Kick works best in my Empire. An amazing match. Second best in my P+18650.

Thanks Lisa. I knew as much but was wondering if anyone had tried it. I went ahead and left it at the office so I wouldn't be tempted. Il just have to wait. Damn you Super T for getting it to me so fast!

You MUST only use genuine IMR High drain batteries without an added protection circuit with your Kick, Croms.

Thanks for replying. I've had nothing but great luck with my GG. No problems at all. Only when I put in the kick does it not fire. Hmmmm... I don't have another mod yet. I've been looking and am very interested in picking up a Strata when available.

What battery configuration are you using in the GGTS? 18650, 18490, 18350? Are you using your GGTS with the bottom battery spring installed or without?

Can you try using different atties just to make sure your i06 is not the culprit?

I tried both 18650's an '350's. Also I have the fuse upgrade kit installed in the base.

The kick likes a strong connection. I had some consistency/connectivity issues in my P+18 (when I had it). I think P+ may be the nicest tube I have seen yet but I just wrestle with bottom buttons. I also use carto tanks and the P+ would not stand up very stable (if laid down, could easily roll and almost fell off my desk more than once). When put kick in my sliver Bullet - with IMR 18490 - it worked well and then occasionally would not fire. When I added the extension sleeve with 18650, the erratic fire became more prevalent. I stretched the SB hotspring a little bit - to make the overall fit more snug (vertically only) - and that ended the issue. Now it fires with no probs.

While I am NOT suggestion you consider stretching your spring - it can work. I would think with the GG (don't have one) threading the telescope down to a more snug fit against the kick and batt might accomplish the same thing. Alternatively, adding in a vapesafe/fuse (looks like a little PCB disk) under the batt - over the spring - could also be a way to safely tighten up the internal batt/kick fit.

Sometimes a bit (think tiny almost invisible smear) of ox-guard on all three contact points of the kick can be of help in the conductivity as well. The thing with the kick is that it is the first/only drop-in module made and because it is going into various devices, that simple fact (various devices) creates variables for which Evolv has no control. Kicks DO work consistently but some devices may take a little bit of playing around to get the connection consistent. I now use mine every day and got more of them for some new devices I am waiting on. But, then again, I do have Darwins and an Opus to tide me over! :p

Pretty sure there is a bunch of discussion over the the GG subforum with things people found to make kick work much better in GGs. With so many contact points, conductive efficiency can be an issue in them. Kick's short-circuit protection is very sensitive (with good reason as no way to know what people will do with them - I've read most of the posts and threads and it can be surprising - so MANY using it out of spec).

I have had that experience as well. The kick hesitates, and sometimes fails to fire,
when I install it on a GG of mine that has the fuse upgrade kit installed.

Ok got my Kick in the P+18 and digging it so far. Fits perfectly with the big o-ring and AW 18490. I am having occasional miss fires though. Seems like after 48 hours of testing I am getting about 8hrs of vape time with this setup. I am worried about the Rhodium contact on the top cap though. It appears as if when screwing it on it is making rings in the brass center pin of the kick. I know there needs to be a good contact between the two but I am worried it will wear down the Rhodium plating. I mean if we aren't even supposed to even clean the contacts with an abrasive cloth wont this eventually rub it off? I still will want to use the 18650 battery configuration some too and I don't want to tear anything up. Anybody who has used a P+ with a Kick over time notice any degradation of the contacts?

Thanks,

CD
