I like that idea, and also the other ideas about LED stripes, and so on. I am 100% in favor of unnecessary LEDs. Especially unnecessary blinking or moving lights! It's a sci-fi thing! :thumb:

But those are pretty big design changes. Pretty soon, the way we're growing, we'll be big enough to start creating and comissioning our own designs and models, but right now, I think the ring LED is the most practical idea to pursue.

Oh, and just brighter LEDs in general, too. ! :D

HEY! Speaking of unnecessary power draining LEDs, what do you guys think about the VP1's LED flashlight attachment? Useful addition, or overkill?

You mean for manuals - remove the carto, and use as a flashlight? been there done that :p good for finding the right key in teh dark.

I still want infra red and ultra violet, particularly ultra violet, then it can double for lots of things.. checking for counterfeit money, verifying club stamps, verifying the maid rally changed the sheets at the motel...

And on the note of using a silicone cap to make the light visible, i did it for a while but it looked a lil tacky and clunky - one time i just put a lil hole in the end, and it worked fine, the other batt i tried it on didn't work so well so i ended up just cutting the 'corner edges' over the air holes in the end so i ended up with a cap kinda like:
Code:
| | instead | |
| | of | |
\__/ |__|
and then just lining up the cut corners over the air holes

Nice, I'll try that. ;)

Still putting in my vote for purple LEDs! ;)

I haven't seen that, though I will admit that I do use my VK in the dark from time to time at night, and the LED does come in handy sometimes (like for seeing my thermostat, or for looking for carts on my nightstand, etc...), but I like tools with multiple uses! ;)

I tried that, and I like it, it looks cool. But it restricts the airflow, even with a hole in the tip of the cap. Otherwise, I think I'd leave the cap on all the time. ;) But it does show what a ring LED would look like, and I like it. :thumb:

That's exactly why I said to "cut off the end of the plastic carto protective cap". Otherwise it does restrict airflow and that isn't good either. It proves my point that the battery isn't completely sealed. There is a very rare chance this would happen, but if someone was vaping and the battery vented for whatever reason, and whether it was a mild or catastrophic vent, they would have to go to the hospital. That is how toxic li-ion fumes are. I don't mean to alarm anyone...but let's try to make these as safe as possible.

Be careful about using the condoms whole on auto battery ends, it activates mine! I was having fun playing with it the other night it was like a ghetto manual button for the auto.

Yes..thank you. If anyone uses one it should be slid on all the way so there is just a small lip extending over the end. And the end of the condom does need to be cut off.

leaford - thanks for reading my posts. I was just trying to give you an idea of what a transparent ring would look like on the end and how easy it would be to see. I see you got the idea...lol. Battery safety is another issue and I am sure you will look into it. It's great to have you on board with V4L. V4L is the bomb primarily on account of customer service...but with improved and unique products, V4L will be a killer. I am looking forward to it...:D

Other 'colours' that would rock would be infrared and ultraviolet. a little harder to see perhaps, but great batts to take clubbing, etc, hell, I'd even pay a premium to get infra red or ultra violet (or both, preferably)

I seen on a review video a ecig with a black light, you know the ones we had when we were teenagers (well people my age anyways lol) they had that kind of luminating light glows in the dark glow. well maybe some of you know what I mean, confusing myself again lol:oops:

It varies with the battery color. Black and white come in green and blue, Chrome and Blue have green LEDs, Green, Platinum and Pink have blue LEDs. It also varies a bit from order to order as we tinker with the selection.

On the shorties, Black has blue, Pink comes in blue and yellow, Blue has blue or orange, Yellow has yellow, red, or green, and Green and White batts have green LEDs.
