Hey guys, I got a lemo recently and all was fine but now I am getting ohm jumping like crazy and "check atomizer" on all my devices. I'm pretty sure it's a problem with the 510 connection that screws onto the tank. When I take the ohm reading from the tank without the 510 connector, I see the proper ohm but as soon as I put the 510 connector on the lemo, it goes crazy.

So I think the problem is with the adjustment screw, when I got it it first worked but now the adjustment screw is always adjusting and I just don't think it's making solid contact with the tank even if I loosen the screw all the way, There is still tons of play.

Anybody else experience this? Any help would be amazing as right now it's just unusable. :(

A couple of things you can check....

First make sure the leads simply aren't loose on your build.

Then make certain the center post is tightened fully to the positive block on the deck. I have had that come slightly loose on one of them.

Only other issue I had early on was not fully tightening the lower base section causing poor contact.

I had this issue recently as well. If you have checked out VaPreis's suggestions and are still having issues, I loosened the adjustment screw just slightly and then attached the attachment base to the Lemo. I then tightened the 510 screw. That has solved the issue for me.

I was about to rebuild my coil but I checked the screws on the base and one was really loose. I tightened it up and now it works again perfectly. Only thing I notice now is I am getting alot of dry hit, must be my cotton as I tried to use less. Time to take it apart again lol.

One thing about the adjustable screw, I have to take the 510 connector off, hold the back of it and then I can adjust the screw, if I just try to turn the screw without holding the back, everything just spins which is no good. It still works but takes more time to adjust the screw as I always gotta take the connector off the tank

Thanks guys for your advice.

That's strange. Both of mine spin very easily and I can adjust the 510 screw with it fully assembled, usually with just a finger nail. Initially unscrewing them, they were very tight.

Don't be afraid to use a little extra cotton in the Lemo. Keep it fluffy in the wells, not packed, but I've had no issues filliing the wells "bunny ear" style.

Can you use the Lemo as a dripper? When I take off the tip, I see the coil staring up at me just begging for a drip of juice...and there seems to be plenty of space for the juice to flow down. ATM, my Lemo is sitting un-used since my very first mod doesn't arrive until tomorrow (P3). But I'm curious.

Yes, I can just buy a dripper, but I just picked the Lemo for my first RBA since I'm coming off of clearomizers so it seems a bit more familiar (not to mention, it looks fairly easy).

No the chimney holds the glass tank in place so u can't remove it to expose the coils and drip that way ... But that doesn't mean u can't drop drops down the drip tip and vape that way but filling is so easy, y not just fill the tank

Hey folks, been lurk'n here. Read the whole thread. The Lemo looks like it's going to be the answer for my out-n-about tank/mech mod system. Been using a Kanger Aerotank Mega recoiled with duals netting .80 ohms on my mech mod. It's ok but limited in juice flow as all kanger tanks are. Limits me to about 10w per coil whether single or dual due to the constriction at the wick/tank interface.

Have tested Tai Kay 91 etc for airflow but no go. I'm a lung hitter and they're much too constrictive for that; even with modifications. Don't have problems producing equal vapor and flavor with my modified kangers.

As mentioned here by you great folks the Lemo and Lemo Drop have all the features I've been looking for. Good juice capacity, large build deck, larger terminal screws and holes, dual coil capable, two piece chimney, ample juice channels and large airflow capacity. I can deal with the loosy-goosy AFC easy enough with some locktite 242.

Thanks for all the great info.

It's a great lung hitter. Based on your preferences, I can't think of a better setup.

I am still vaping on the pre installed coil the Lemo came with. I've come to think its a pretty decent build actually. Holds a massive wick. I thinks it's been three weeks. :vapor:

I'm curious about the spacing in that pre-built coil. I've only seen videos where the individual wraps touch. Is the spaced style not very popular for a reason?

I build micro coils with wraps touching in my Kangers, and that works really well in tight spaces. I honestly don't have a LOT of experience building , and have only built micro coils. I do know the spacing on the pre-built is wide, and it takes a good second and a half to heat up to the point of vaporizing the juice. But it seems to work well and wick well for me with lots of cotton. Stays hot a long time too. I let off the fire button approx two seconds before completing my draw.

I haven't experimented much with coils... But I think I get good flavor off this coil.

It;s the old school way of making coils, then micro coils was born and it pretty killed off the spaced coils, micro's get hotter, quicker and more coverage of the wick.

Spaced coils have their place zombo. That is with dirty juices like NETs. Microcoils with touching winds, that is those wound with tension, are held in a constant state of compressive tension. And they stay that way (slammed together). Good thing, they heat up faster and occupy a smaller area than a spaced coil of equal resistance. Downside is they gunk up quicker than spaced winds.

I wind both types for different situations but both are wound with tension. That is, stretching the wire with enough force (stress) to impart compressive strain into the winds so that the coil retains its symmetry. Any lesser force allows deformity of the coil; either of it's diametrical or longitudinal symmetry. You need those coils straight and each wind identical in diameter otherwise hot spots develope because wick compression varies throughout the coil. The classic outcome of hand winding without sufficient tension.

The DIY tool I introduced to ECF about 6 months ago achieves perfect coils while winding with tension directly from the wire spool. Find it in my blogs. It's easy to fabricate a "Cigamajig"

    Good luck

But don't get my black cara version, has painted threads :|

I know there is a version that doesn't have the painted threads around.

A lot of people are going back to spaced coils now. I'm leaving small spaces on the coils in my Rose rta's. They cool down faster.

True, they cool faster. They heat slower though and for the same reasons; proximity and coil/wick contact.

Microcoils radiate heat from one wind to the next aiding in speedy heat up time but have less wick in contact with the coil than spaced coils. Spaced coils allow the wick to reach further up around the sides of the wire than micros causing the spaced coils to cool faster due to the heatsinking characteristics of the juice. Also micros concentrate all of there heat into a smaller area than spaced coils which heats the juice deeper into the wick which takes longer to cool too.

I used to wind spaced coils with wider spaces for dirty juices but now wind what I call "micro-spaced" coils which have the winds almost touching. They offer the same benefit of decreased dryburn intervals as wider spaced coils while heating up faster; although not quite as fast as a full-on micro. They work great for dirty juices like NETs.

FWIW, I haven't had any issues with the AFC at all, sits where I park it. I may be in the minority though...
