Hey all,

Just got my Lemo Drop. Makes me appreciate the flavors I have. I do have one issue though: I keep burning the cotton fairly easily (I'm switching out daily) regardless of juice.

I'm running the pre-built coil (1.0 ohm. Appears to be 24-26g range. coils larger than 3.0mm) on a MVP 20W (at 16-17 W). I'm guessing it's the coil atm. The air hole's set roughly between fully open/closed

Do you have both models?
I have a regular one and love it!
Don't umdrstand why get the smaller one, unless it vapes better id personally want the 5ml capacity. ..
Just curious

So for high % VG juices and the Lemo, which works better, micro or standard coil wraps? And at least for me i am using 28 gauge kanthal. Thanks all!

I don't think it matters. I vape 100%* VG juice, and the only thing that makes a difference is the diameter and the wick-job. I like larger coils for high VG juice (more wick), and I gave up on all things cotton months ago (Rayon is THE wick of choice these days) Compressed coils seem to produce a little better flavor at first, but Spaced coils won't gunk-up as fast as compressed coils, so the flavor last a lot longer, but that goes for all juices.

All of this is based on my vaping habits, which, at 30-35watts, are a little on the high side. So, YMMV

Sounds like ya got a bit too much cotton and it's not wicking properly.

Changed out the coils to a 10-wrap 28g (d=1.8mm. My first build, yay!) and it's soo much better. On lower wattage, heats up instantly, and the cotton hasn't burned yet. I am, however, getting some gurgling now. (used roughly half a strip of KGD (vs a whole one).)

Only the L Drop. Don't really need/want the large capacity since I like changing out flavors. Plus, the full-sized version would look pretty ridiculous on my MVP 20W

I tried something a bit different from my Kayfun style builds this morning. Dual 26g, 8 wraps at 2.5mm inside diameter. It was a pain to get screwed on to the deck but at 30W it's a nice, warm, super flavorful vape.

Well, got a coil jig in the mail today. Running twisted 30G on next to the biggest mandrel thing, not sure how many wraps because brandy was involved but it came out to 1.7 ohms. Got some 6 nic at the B&M. Ol skool guese and five pawns Lucena along with some ceramic tweezers so this coil is a contact coil. Not bad for relaxing on a nice Saturday afternoon and waiting for the storm to hit. Hoping I don't turn into an ash... for dropping my nic. If I don't I have a nicotiket order on standby. Wakonda just sounds interesting because a good coffee vape is hard to find.

Yesssss!!

I did 12 warps of 26gauge kanthal id of 3mm came out to about 1.6 ohms. Used a healthy amount of cotton like I see in your photo and wooo. Vaping it at 20 watts! No dry hits! Great flavor! Plumes of vapor! No having to wait a second and puff prime my coil a bit. It just rips! I don't even have to take a 10 second hit like I used to with my old rig!

Thank you so much VaPreis this is the perfect build for me!

I'm glad you're enjoying it. :toast:

I would like to know where they got the cotton balls that came with it. I know it sounds lame but those are the best cotton balls I have come across.

Interesting. I have never tried them, but I still have all the cotton that came with my 3 Lemo's.

I'll try it on the next re-wick. Sounds like I'm missing out. :)

I know I have read on this thread that Kayfun post screws would work on Lemos, I think someone referred to cheese head screws, Has anyone tried them. A couple of mine are getting a little difficult to snug up. I ordered some from FatDaddy Vapes but have not tried them yet. I also got some of the knurled m1.6, has anyone tried those either.

I'm not getting the flavor I want out of my lemo. Could it be that I'm using it on a 20 watt iStick? Anyone have any recommendations for a build over 1.0 ohms? I am a flavor chaser and I want full on flavor at 20 watts so I'm looking for any help.
The coil that comes with it is good. It seems that anything over 1.5 ohms just kills the flavor for me. I'm running a 26G contact coil now, 8 wraps showing 1.2 ohms. I'm using cellucotton and getting as much as I can into the coil. Warm moist and flavorful vape at 20 watts.

I have tried multiple style coils and coil sizes with the Lemo, dual coils, parallel coils, spaced coils, and contact coils.

Having tried all of that, my go to build for the Lemo is a contact coil, 11 wraps of 26ga at 2.2mm (a piece of coat hanger happens to be 2.2mm). That should clock in around 1.2Ω and performs awesome at 20 Watts.

My build is nearly identical to my initial post on this thread, the only change being I went from 12 wraps on the initial build to 11 on the current.

Still using the stock coil. Re wicked a few times just trying different juices but since I got mine about s week ago I've put down my Atlantis tanks and pretty much been using this exclusively on my istck. It's great think I charged it maybe 3 times in a week, and the flavor is great! Clouds are almost on point with Atlantis Imo but personally I don't care about clouds long as taste good and little throat hit no need to fill a room with vapor [emoji12] [emoji111] cheers

Got my vape mail yesterday and decided to build a 316L coil for my Lemo. Tried the 24 guage square wire first, and a 7/8 coil measured at 0.3ohm. Was a little too hot for the Lemo so I pulled it out and tried the same wrap with 26 guage round 316L, which measured out to 0.8ohm. The 316L stainless steel wire is easy to work with, is soft enough to wrap well but also holds its shape easily too. The resistance is a bit lower than the equivalent wrap of kanthal, and the shiny coils are beautiful once wrapped.

As for performance, the wire heats and cools a bit faster than the equivalent amount of kanthal, and gives similar vapor and flavor production. Since I don't super-sub-ohm I can't comment on its cloud-chasing potential, but if you want really low resistance you may want to give it a try.
