I wonder how many of us who smoked inside have stopped allowing our friends to smoke in our house or car. The way I see it, my apartment already smells, so why be an ungracious hostess?

Really? The smoke smell went away in a couple of weeks in my house. When I first started vaping it was a real nose-opener to come home to a stinky house. Same with my pickup. I don't think I'd let someone smoke an analog in either now. The crap just friggin' stinks now...IMO.

I never used to smoke in my house will i started vaping. Now i do i where ever without the worry of smell in my carpet. Its amazing how much you notice the smell when you give up and move to vaping. I had to get my car steam cleaned it was putrid.

I also now vape at my desk at work where as before i had to walk 5 minutes to a "Designated" smoking area. My legs are thanking me for taking up vaping too :)

i have never allowed smoking (even myself) in my house-no reason, when you have a covered porch. but i do allow my friends to smoke in my truck or outside my house. i have ridden with, gone to restaurants with, gone to church and church functions with alot of smokers and have not been tempted...i think that is what amazes them, that i have NO desire. i got something MO BETTAH!!!!!
i refuse to be an annoying "former smoker"

Also, they can be impressed with how UNtempted I am to bum one! :)

Yeah I mean I can't smell it when I walk in the door or anything, but I've lived here for five plus years and smoked in it the whole time, as did my friend who rented the place before me. So it's already "tainted" lol...

Call me crazy, but I still love the smell of a freshly lit analog...the stale "someone smoked in here an hour ago" smell not so much. But what am I gonna do, make my friends go down to the street? Man I need a patio!

Awesome thread. Other than health/smell/etc, I guess the biggest advantage I now have is not having to brave the weather to have a smoke. Where I live, it's sometimes below freezing in Winter and triple digits in the Summer. While my friends are outside smoking, either freezing or sweating, I'll be puffing away while working at my desk. :D

I have not banned smoking in my house. I figure that if someone is nice enough to visit, I want them to be comfortable and feel welcome during their stay. I've found that a couple of days of opening the windows gets rid of the occasional smoker smells very nicely.

I still allow it in mine too... but all the people who come over here get converted pretty quick too LOL

Not having to remember catchy comebacks when people complain about my smoking. "Your smoke is bothering me!", "Yeah well it's f'in killing me lady" (ok maybe that's a slight disadvantage cause I really did love saying that one)

I laughed so hard I cried...I'll have to remember that one (at least until my e-cig gets here)!!
