First off I want to say thank you to ECF for all the wonderful people that have contributed here and have given so much of their time and efforts to help soooo many others!!!!!! A lot of us would have gone back to you know what, if we hadn't gotten the information you've so generously provided.

I'm a Lone Vaper and wish I did have someone to share this wonderful experience. I'm 7 months in today and I'm still just as excited about it as I was when I started. Although I'm in the "older" age bracket, I'm not afraid to walk into any of the local vape shops and ask questions or whatever and you shouldn't be either!! I wish I would have found ECF before I plunked down $75 for an innokin MVP. Came home the same day, googled it and found one for $42. Well, we all live and learn. Luckily that was the only costly mistake I've made.

Yes, I've watched all the videos too and some of them weren't worth the time. I wish there were more professionals who really would explain in detail. You know, like vaping for dummies or something along those lines. Where to start, price ranges, etc.. Let's face it, it's almost as confusing as buying a new car for the first time.

I hope this will be a place for other Lone Vapers to come to and vent, share your Loner stories and ask more questions. There is no reason for any of us to be "Lone," as long as we have ECF and each other!!!!

Great idea for a new thread, ohmyeyes! Thanks for starting it.

I'm just over 4 months in, and also still soooo happy about it - love the vaping, and really, really love that I'm not smoking anymore after 47 years!!! Never thought it would happen!!

I'll be back later; I'm in the middle of something right now and was just taking a break. Looking forward to this thread continuing!

I'm just over a year in, and I'm the only vaper I know of around here. I've heard that there are a few others, but I've never seen a "vaper in the wild," so to speak. No vape shops nearby, either, so all of my stuff has come from online vendors, except back when I first tried the disposables.

This has become a hobby for me, as well as a harm reducing way to still get my nicotine (which is the only thing that has ever helped my migraines). Because of the hobby aspect, my friends and family quickly tired of listening to me babble on about what I like, dislike, things I want to try, etc., so I'm really grateful for ECF. It's nice to have a place to talk about this with other people who "get it."

Great title for a thread. I suspect there are quite a few of us "Lone Vapers" hanging around here. I'm pretty new, but loving this whole experience and learning so much every day.

I am "a woman of a certain age", a grandmother but still kickin". My kids and grandkids call me the "cool granny", so I guess I'm doing something right. I've always loved music, of all kinds, and still do. I think the fact that my car has the premium sound system and I let them crank it up and play what they like is a factor in being considered "cool."

Now that I've quit smoking and started vaping, I am sure I will be considered "double" cool.

Anyhow, fun thread and happy to participate.

I just noticed this - cracks me up. Pretty funny. Glad to meet you. I like your style.:)

Sign me up too :) I was used to being the blacksheep as a smoker so this is not new to me. None of my friends vape and I was the only smoker in the family. Thanks to ECF though, even if we're not together we are not alone.

Same story here--lone vaper, black sheep, etc.

I'm really kind of a real loner IRL too.

Another lone vaper here. Even if I could still get out and about much, the closest B&M is 40 miles away. Let's hear it for the internet. My husband is supportive, but he hasn't got a clue about what I'm doing with this stuff. Been at it for about four months. I've never met another vaper in person.

Another lone vaper popping in to say "hello".

I did have a co-worker that started vaping shortly after I did, but I see him smoking lately (although when pressed, he claims that he's only smoking because of stress at work and still vapes at home).

The closest vape shop is about a 90 minute round trip for me, so I have yet to meet up with a fellow vaper in person.

Meh, it is what it is. I vape for me, not for anyone else. Okay, maybe for the dogs and the cat just a little, but mostly for me.

+1 for the Lone vapers club!

I have a couple of friends who tried vaping but went back very quickly. I live in southern California so there are plenty of shops in my area, but it just seems.....well it seems that lot of "kids" are into vaping around here because it's "trendy" (kind of irritates me because I vape to not smoke, not because its the cool thing to do)

It's definitely a hobby now, and thanks to ECF I finally have somewhere to go where I can talk to other vape enthusiast without going into a B&M and dealing with the "cool kids".

Apologies for all the quotation marks :D

I enjoyed being a lone smoker so being a lone vapor isn't much different only I'm not outside freezing now.

My husband quit cold turkey over 20 years ago. He's jealous that he had to do it the hard way but indulges me when I want to try a new shiny and I make my own liquids which seems to fascinate him. Saturday, he was actually googling drippers, RBA's & RDA's because I said I wanted one to test my liquids with. He was trying to find me the "best" one.

His brother & sister-in-law are the ones who actually convinced me that vaping technology had finally reached a "true alternative to smoking" level last summer. Anyone remember the original NJoy and the whopping 2 flavors--Bad & Worse if you could get any flavor at all out of the crappy device? $100 wasted. 4+ years later, I happily plunked down $130 at a local vape shop and I happily keep plunking down dollars that would have otherwise gone up in smoke, burnt to ashes, & been stolen by the insurance & tax goons.

This should be a group! I am also a lone vaper. My girlfriend vapes but I'm the one that tries this and that and she gets to try all the stuff I buy! I paid the high dollars for my MVP, she found the $42 one online. Our flavor pallet doesn't meet very often so when one of us get a new flavor its usually a glad I didn't buy that one!! I'm just a month in but definitely my new hobby. I do have a vape shop two towns over which is nice, beats the gas station supplies I was buying! At least we have an online community we can visit and learn from!
Vape on!

See, I dont mind paying more (maybe not that much more) at B&M stores.
They have the overhead costs there unlike many other online distributors.
It keeps vape shops in the area so if you need help you can go in and relax, learn a lot through teaching (atleast at mine), and meet other vapors.
I have met some friends at my local vape lounge in maryland. I will gladly pay 20% more for their overhead costs (no more usually).
....
Anyhow, I dont see age as an issue in vaping at all. A lot of the people who come into my B&M store are 40 - 80 years old as well.
Also, try looking for vape meets in your area because you can get some good deals, try different ejuice, and meet some memorable people along the way.
....
Out of everyone I know, I am the only person who vapes though, none of my real close friends are dumb enough to smoke.
So I feel uncomfortable most of the time vaping away getting stared at by all of them.
Oh well, I'm used to it anyways.
ECF is a great place and has a great community, I'm happy to be here.

Why do I find that a little irritating as well??? Most of them wouldn't know what a true addiction is, how to deal with it and how hard it is to stop it. Lucky them!
