I have set several people up with kits I built to help them at my expense but they have no initiative to continue on their own. It gets frustrating when they show up looking for juice heads etc. I finally had to be Ms Mean and say no.
Do you count as a lone vapor if you've had success turning smokers to vapers but then have become their personal vape shopper/tech/maintenance? I don't have much choice in the matter. My mother in law absolutely can not navigate the wen and she's going blind so even refilling is often something she can't manage. My husband works insane hours as chef, is not Internet savvy nor good at fiddling with technology in general. My sister is Internet savvy, but under 18 and doesn't want to get anyone in trouble by ordering for herself. She wires money to my prepaid card, and I order and ship her stuff to he in my name (harm reduction, she had drug problems and kicked that but couldn't kick cigs.
You're not Ms Mean!!! Let's face it. This "hobby," as some call it, can be costly and time consuming.
It reminds me of a girl I used to work with always bumming cigs off me. Finally I said, "Hey, buy your own. I'm not going to support your habit along with mine." It ended right there but we remained best of friends. Sometimes people just force you to put your foot down. Just like there will always be givers and takers!
Whether you're lone or not, you're doing a commendable job at helping others. My hat's off to you!!
People I know are spending 12+ a day here for cigs and that is cheap compared to a lot of places. Yet they don't even try to get off the cig treadmill. At least I realized what kind of savings can be had, today these people don't have jobs and are still puffing away. It is only going to get worse. Prepare.
I was a lone closet smoker for awhile, now a lone closet vaper. The only reason I made the switch was after watching a commercial for Blu for the millionth time, Googled reviews, and knew there had to be better out there. Then found this forum. Smoke-free 3 months this Saturday and I would have still been floundering around or still smoking had I not come across this forum.

Ooh yay, I was just reading the other thread on lone vapers! I see a lot of people vaping at my work (bar) and I've thought about going up to them to chat, but I always chicken out

Lone vapor here. THere is one counter of vape stuff int he local tattoo parlor/porn shop/head shop but I have never seen anyone vape. The nearest REAL B & M is a 79 mile drive. I am sure there must be alot of cigalike users around here as all the convienince stores/wallgreens/walmart carry the full lines of the big 3 (Blu/NJoy/Fin) but I have never seen anyone actually using one.
I was literally the last smoker in the family and friends. So I am on my own. I came to vaping via 2 threads in 2 different gaming forums (yep I online game despite being old enough to be the grandma of most other player). Ended up here and have been going strong for nearly 10 months.
