The Lower House of the Russian Parliament has passed the anti-tobacco bill, one of the strictest in Europe, in the third final reading.

From the article(6th paragraph down):

"It’s interesting to note that the anti-tobacco bill will affect everything that has an indirect connection to smoking, for example, candy and chewing gum shaped like cigarettes. Electronic cigarettes will also be banned because, according to the lawmakers, such items indirectly harm human health by acting as advertisements of smoking."

Wondering if this means all e-cigs, or those that mimic a tobacco cig in appearance.

Hmmm... I wonder if the Russian parliament has given any thought to the effects of having half the population running around feeling angry, agitated, combative, inattentive, confused, and forgetful.

That's assuming, of course, that the Russians call pull off enforcement of this legislation.

I'm really sorry to hear that, It sound you'll be dealing with the same type of legislation we have in Mexico, translating:

"It's forbidden to sell, distribute, exhibit, promote or manufacture any object that is not a tobacco product, that contains any o the elements of the brand or any type of design or audio signal that identifies it with tobacco products."

Since ecigs "look like" analogs, we are not allowed to sell them (so far once you have one you can use it). And how about box mods? well, you inhale and a smoke-like substance comes out, that identifies it with a tobacco product, so.... no, those are out too...

Sounds like all e-cigs.

I don't get it - they are willing to go forward with an outright ban on all e-cigs because they "act as advertisements of smoking" yet they won't ban the real thing which will act in the same fashion. And we all know which of the two is 1000x worse for your health. Unreal.
