How would one get started in something like this? Are there any vendors that specialize in creating custom flavors?Maybe you should become an elqiuid maker and see if you can make what your after; that's how a lot of vendors came into being.

I think it also needs to be said... tasting tobacco and tasting burning tobacco is not a matter of semantics... they are different tastes
yes, but you cannot extract a reactive process.
After tobacco is burned, it is ash. The chemical process cannot be recreated, since it happens when using.
It's like decomposition. Rotten meat doesn't taste like fresh meat. It's the breakdown of the matter, the process that flavors it. Extraction is also a chemical process, so is aging, heat, light, moisture.
Milk is the best example I can think of of how different processes from a base can and will change things radically. If you didn't know how cheese was made, would you know from tasting that it began as milk?
To me, vaping Devil Dog, London, Paris, etc is like smoking a real pipe with a real burning tobacco. As I have tried to explained here, to me, the issue is not that it is not like burning tobacco, it is about the flavor being "generic," for the lack of a better word, and one dimensional....there is no burning tobacco taste in eliquid. Why? Because the tobacco isn't being burned.

I agree. But who said that it has to be extracted? Given enough skills, any flavor can be recreated. Rotten egg or vomit Jelly Belly, anyone?yes, but you cannot extract a reactive process.
There is also a way to capture certain very complex flavors as a smoke and then infuse those flavor into a carrier, which can be many things including a liquid. That is what separates Ferran Adrià from other chefs, well, not only that, but it is something he is known for.I agree. But who said that it has to be extracted? I did not have raw chicken in mind when I typed that. I do not want to get into semantics again,p.s. I hadn't even seen your post when I typed the previous one about raw meat. The thought of raw meat like that (especially chicken) is so gross.![]()
In my opinion, it does not matter. Any flavor can be recreated. Not extracted. Recreated. Complex flavors require a lot of skills to recreate, though.I also listed other comparable processes.
Quoting out of context.
Got it.... no sushi for Mr Mann... lol
( yes, I know it is cooked with acid instead )
True. But I have never heard of anybody chewing pipe tobacco or cigars instead of smoking them. Maybe somebody does something like this, but it would not be relevant to what we have been discussing here. So chewing tobacco/snus aside, the flavor/taste only comes from burning.I think it also needs to be said... tasting tobacco and tasting burning tobacco is not a matter of semantics... they are different tastes
That would be ceviche.
